I'm okay with this as long as it's only $20. If it's more than that simply because it's an exclusive to Target, that will stink.

How many different colors do we have now? blue, red, black, green, orange?

Hopefully, they'll stick with the $20 tag since it looks like just a repaint.  This is the 7th Eta-2 fighter by Hasbro?  I haven't been keeping up with the new Titaniums for 2008, but Aayla's could be on the way.

Damn another Starfighter. Since this is Aayla's I'm gonna have to get it. Probably be 20 bucks since that was the price for both Plo Koons and Kit Fistos.

Wait, I have to find that source first - I'm thinking it's from a novel and not actually visual. I remember it stating it was largely modified to fit his size. Or I could have been thinking about another character's... I check back on the source and reply you again  ;)

I stopped buying at Mace Windu, and thus far I'm glad I did.

If I ever see these loose for like $10 I'll grab them, but I'm done paying $20 for 7th or 8th versions of the same vehicle.

Pretty...

I'm game.  I don't care how many times Habro repaints this thing - being the sucker I am.  I've always been a bigger fan of vehicles because I actually open them..

If I remember right I think it was in the Republic comic/Obsession that the blue Jedi starfighter there was the same that Obi-wan had in ROTS and he'd borrowed it from Ayala in that comic, and I guess after Order 66 used it again.  So we're getting 2 of the same blue starfighter?  Ayala and the rerelease of the TRU exclusive-Obi?
The Astromech is the same copper/gold of the one in ROTS.

As you can see, there are subtle deco differences.
Title: Re: Target Aayla Secura's Jedi Starfighter
Post by: jedipurge on December 31, 2007, 03:27 PM
Definately slight differences but does that still mean we're going to have 2 blue starfighters on the shelf at the same time that look remarkably similar, and what will that mean for shelf space at Target are they going to be clogged with these?

"Mom I want this blue fighter."  "I just bought you a blue fighter."  I.e. there going to sit and will be less room for the new walkers & Grevious fighter that's supposed to come out.

Come on Hasbro and gimme one of these starfighters instead.

I don't think it's different enough to justify really, but then I haven't bought any of these.  The hot rod fighter is from the Art of Episode 3 book.  That would be cool.

I agree, These repaints are getting out of hand. Not every jedi is going to have his own colored fighter. In fact they should all be the same. The Jedi Should have no attachments. ::)

I was thinking the same thing, i remember the issue when she lent it to him. I wanted to wait to see better pics before I make up my mind but if it is a straight repack of the TRU Obi starfighter, I will gladly pass. This ship tool is sweet but I am sick of it already.

I think they shoul've incorporated something radically different for Secura's fighter (like Tinn's Titanium), and agree that this is so subtle and uninteresting that it's really not worth picking up.  Why not go with the Atherspite from E2 or something?  I dunno...  Just dull to me.

Either way, an uninteresting piece, so an easy pass.

PASS! I think the only starfighter repaint I would ever buy would be a red Shaak Ti starfighter with zebra stripes. THAT would be cool.

Anything to do with hot Star Wars women is cool with me.  So I'll get Aayla's ship, and Shaak Ti's if they make it.  Any other Jedi Starfighters though, I'll probably pass on... I didn't get Kit's or Sae Sae's.

I can see why people tire of the starfighter repaints, but for some reason I'm a sucker for the ROTS/Eta style Jedi Starfighters - so (budget willing), I'll likely pick this one up.  I'd also be down for Shaak Ti and ROTS versions of Kit/Plo/etc. if they ever come out.  Although, I'd still rather see "new" ships, so hopefully it will be a decent mix.

Thanks RQ! This definitely looks like a clearance purchase.

Normally I just buy exclusives when I see them but for this one I may just adopt that rational. I am really tired of this ship, I use to really like it but now I am just plain bored of it. I have to complete the Jedi Fleet so because of my personal addiction I will have to get one, but I only willing to pay $12.

So what Jedi are left that need their own personal fighter....let's see what exclsusives Hasbro may have in store:
1. Ki-Adi-Mundi - Brown and blue EP2 style (so he keeps the cone theme going)
2. Luminaria - Green and black with spots EP2 style
3. Shaak Ti - Red/White EP2 style (After all she needs a ship to escape to Felucia)
4. Yoda (Needs a height chair or booster seat) - Green and brown Ep3 fighter
5. Agen Kolar - Brown and white EP3 fighter

I still love the sculpt but I think there's a point where I can only hang so many of the damn things from the ceiling, ya know?  If they'd varied the ship a bit with something sort of wild and unique looking I'd reconsider, but the ship is really just Utapau Obi's...  More or less.

I swear the droid on the box looked like Obi's even!

If I see one cheap I too may buy it, but only then.

I swear the droid on the box looked like Obi's even!

I'm pretty sure it is, since (and EU folks, correct me if I'm wrong here) Obi-Wan had R4-P17 throughout the Clone Wars, and R4-G9 was a late addition with the blue JSF.  Secura's fighter in "Obsession" that Obi-Wan borrowed had an R4-G9 lookalike in the astromech socket, so I don't think it would be a stretch to assume it was, if not the same droid, one of the same lineage/fleet as R4-G9.

And hey, does Secura's ship come with the correct label sheet, or did they stick Anakin's yellow JSF sheet in there, as well?  :P

But yeah, big pass on this one for me (I may have said that already in this thread; apologies for the redundance).  I think the only way they'd get me to buy another Actis-II Interceptor would be doing a film-accurate version of the Utapau JSF or the Mustafar JSF.  Other than that, no more for me.

Believe or not....There is absolutely NO sticker sheet included with this ship.  I just found this out tonight at our geeky SW meeting, so this was news to me.  I guess there's lines painted on the droid, but that's all you get.

I'm still buying one though.   :)

This was a surprise to me as well. At first I thought I was missing the sticker sheet, but then when I saw that there weren't sticker label places indicated on the instruction sheet for the ship, that's what tipped me off to the fact that there weren't stickers at all.

Seems kind of odd, but oh well...

Were there any decals whatsoever already applied to the ship (I'm particularly wondering about the cockpit interior and the droid body), were those "painted" on (akin to the Republic logos on the V-Wing), or is everything just blank?  With some vehicles like the 2003 Saga A-Wing, that kind of thing isn't very noticable, but to not include and/or apply labels to an astromech droid body is just ridiculous.

I think Hasbro needs to just stop with the JSFs for a long while after this.  If the lack of and/or inclusion of incorrect label sheets is any indication, I think they're getting tired of dealing with them as well.
Title: Re: Target Aayla Secura's Jedi Starfighter
Post by: Pete_Fett on March 15, 2008, 09:07 PM
The droid is slightly painted, but nothing significant other than the colored bar-arms (not quite sure what else to call them) that run horizontally beneath the dome. That's it. There are no other pre-applied decals, so the interior of the cockpit is decal-free.

It does make this ship look rather "plain".

I picked this up today as was surprised how plain it is without the stickers (pre-applied or otherwise). Ther is no weathering to speak of either (scratches/blaster damage). Rather dissappointing for an "exclusive" - Hasbro really phoned this one in.  :-\

Well put, I thought the same thing. Hasbro really cheaped out on the deco, it needs decals and weathering really bad. They could have at least included some Republic symbol stickers.

I saw this at Target last week (and this weekend), and they seemed to be selling fairly well.  I was tempted to pick one up, just because I'm a fan of this fighter design overall, but the shelves are getting plenty full of these the way it is - and the pics make it look sort of plain - so I left it on the shelf.

My son received this as a gift for his 4th birthday from one of his friends.  It just so happened that he was also getting the ROTS Obi-Wan Jedi Starfighter from me...  When we opened them both up, the first words out of his mouth were, 'Daddy, where are the stickers for the blue one?'  The other bad part was that there's not an Aayla to be found on the pegs these days, so there's currently no one flying the ship as he and his brother search the galaxy for 'Jennifer Grievous'...  I was laughing for a while when they blurted that one out...

As Jayson pointed out, the Aayla JS is more than likely supposed to be from the Clone Wars, but it just looks strange sitting next to one of the ROTS starfighters.  I guess it's ok for a 4 year old, but I'm glad that I didn't spend the money on it.

These seem to be sitting a little more around here now.  Like before, I'm slightly tempted to grab one just because I'm a fan of this starfighter design, and I've basically grabbed all of them so far (aside from Anakin's green).  I'm trying to decide if I want to pick it up or not, but I'm wondering if I shouldn't wait for clearance.  I passed on the Kit Fisto and Plo Koon starfighters earlier, and those are a couple of my favorite "misc Jedi", and sometimes regret it.  I told my wife that someday our daughter will want her own girl Jedi w/fighter :P.

Brian, I'm in the same boat with you.  I have them all except for the Anakin Green and am teetering on whether to get this one now or wait until they go on clearance.  With my luck, they'll go on clearance and all disappear before I find one.  That's what happened when I waited for the Target TIE Bomber and AT-RT BP exclusives to go clearance.  However, I have seen these in much higher quantity than I ever did with the TIE Bomber and AT-RT BP.

I'd say save your money for the green Anakin fighter.  I have that one with a Saesee Tiin sitting in it (since he flew a green one in the Clone Wars cartoon).

I think with no stickers this thing's a waste...not even a sticker for the astromech it's going to look stupid next to the others.

I stopped by our Target today, and either they got another shipment of these or just cleared out the back room, but there was a ton of these out on the floor.  The endcap was packed full of them, and there was four more in the regular action figure aisle (actually, the only vehicle they have in the store right now).  I was tempted to get this, just because I like this starfighter design (and have the others), but at $20 and with the big vehicles this summer I passed.  If it hits a decent clearance price I might grab one though.  I'm more hopeful now after seeing so many today.

I dunno, I kind of like vehicles without stickers.  I rarely apply all of them... I wish that details like stickers were part of the paint job.

The astromech has his markings without stickers BTW, so it looks ok I think -

This is what I found today at Walnut Creek, CA Target just before lunch.  The endcap was almost bare just a couple of days ago, and now it's mostly the Aalya's fighter.  They also restocked GH Cinema Scenes.

I dunno, I kind of like vehicles without stickers.  I rarely apply all of them... I wish that details like stickers were part of the paint job.

I rarely apply any of the stickers either.  I don't like how some start peeling after time.  However, on the drive back to work, I was thinking that the vehicles just aren't complete without the stickers applied (just my quirky thought process).  So having the paint job replace stickers is a good thing for me.
