No Mike, it doesn't matter when you made it.  If it fits the category, post it!

Star Wars Dioramas and Displays / Re: Sarge's Dioramas
« on: October 5, 2006, 07:38 PM »
Welcome Sarge!  So will you go with a full beard or just a goatee now that you're a silly-vilian?

Nice diorama there.  I really like the Emperor's chair area.  Is that all scratch-built?

Also, were you Antony or Cleopatra here?

Star Wars Action Figures / Reattaching Scorch's legs
« on: October 1, 2006, 05:18 AM »
I'm having a hard time getting the leg peg back into the pelvis hole.   :-[  I tried a ffurg suggestion and cut little V notches in the peg, but now I'm nursing a deep gash in my thumb....woe is me.

Should I split the pelvis piece?  Boil the thing longer?  Use a certain tool to cram it back?

Thanks Straxus.  I can't believe how long it's been since I updated...

Customizing Tips and Tricks / Re: Supportive Spouses...
« on: July 28, 2006, 11:17 PM »
I've only been customizing for about 15 months now, but my wife of 10 years has always regarded me as a large, 10-year-old nerd, so it's not been much of a surprise to her.

The thing that pisses her off is when I steal her paints and brushes.  As long as I give her, the kids, and the job their due time everything's ok.

Nice customs.  Now put them in one thread and we'll be in business!   :P

That would be Sucklord.  Go to Suckadelic.com and you'll find him.  He even sells action figures of himself on it, but I don't know if they have the boombox.

Customizing Tips and Tricks / Re: Sculpting tips?

If you take into account the time spent sculpting, molding, and casting pieces from scratch, it'll be cheaper to pay for Scorch.

To limit frustration and avoid wanton acts of violence, make sure you have another project or two to work on when this one pisses you off.  That and lots of prescription painkillers.

Damn fine job, Smarty.  Only suggestion I have is gloss up the eyes a bit, but it's up to you.

The devaronian and rebel troopers are a nice mix of parts.  I like the lobot head with the helmet.  <--that sounds bad, but I digress.   A good wash with a lighter shade of gray would bring out a lot of their uniform details.

The biker scout pilot guy looks weird to me for some reason.  Maybe it's just the pudgy body sculpt and Napoleon Dynamite moonboots, but that's hardly your fault.  I think it's also weird to see that head on anything other than the biker scout body.  It'll probably fetch 40 bucks on ebay, so my snooty critique won't matter much!   :P

You naughty little monkey!  Bumping is for insecure "1337-speaking" rebelscummers!

From what I can tell, your sculpt looks great.  Nice and finely detailed.  Paint that bastage up so we can really see the fruit of your labor.

Top-notch painting as usual, DD.  I really like the detail brought out in the limbs of the various Jedi.  The hat on the Whiphid Jedi makes me think of the song "I'm So Ronery," and brings joy to my banal and caustic existence, so it can't be all bad.

Clones rock, imo, and yours are always awesome....you're such a tease with your large plex.  Maybe just whip it out more often.

I'll be here all week.  Be sure to tip your waitress.
