Today I found utapau clone, regular variant vader, general grievous, boba fett (probably the regular variant-flames packed under his feet) and a ki adi mundi holo figure. I also spoke to the guy at one of our local TRU and discovered they are behind on waves so they won't have the hunt figures any time soon so I may hold out that I'll get lucky there. I didn't care to hunt these down before but now that the galactic hunt is on I figure I'd have a better chance of finding the harder to find regular figures now. There's a toy show I'm hitting this Sunday so I'm curious to see what the Hunt figures are being taxed at. Probably $50ea as mentioned on another post, I'll bet the vaders are taxed at $100 after seeing what some have gone for on ebay.

Hey Gatillo! Which Target did you hit this morning? I'm in Columbus and I figure if the store has a guy collecting than our options are always going to be minimal unless he only gets one or two for himself and passes on the rest.

Man, and I thought this was the civil board. Looks like I could have been wrong...

As for "easy to get" what I meant was ( and I should have just stated what I meant) is that instead of putting out 30 figures at a time or in weekly waves they could put out less figures and increase the carton counts. something along the lines of what they did with POTF2. I don't recall having issues getting star wars figures in the 70's when they first came out either.

But to blame Wal-mart for blank pegs....Come on, star wars is probably 1/10 of a percentage point of their sales revenue. They could care less but blank pegs are not exactly because they don't order enough or stock the shelves appropriatly. It's the scalpers, the hot wheels guys, the geeks living in mom's basement who do the ebay thing (or grandmas doing the ebay thing-I've seen them stalk the aisles too) and those that think they need to snag avery single one of the hot figure to trade and pass on to their friends because if they don't the "scalpers will get them" are snagging them up. Oh and the kids, since toy's are general for kids. No, that couldn't be it. It's Walmart's/Meijer's/Target's/TRU's/KB's lack of vision for not wanting to over order on a non returnable item so you can hold out and wait for it to go on clearence to get it on the cheap costing them retail dollars by sitting on shelves and not moving.

And I never said the C-3PO was for trade, I know better than to try to trade a new figure like that but I'm sure I could get some stuff out of this sealed AT-AT I've been looking to move......

We now return you to your normally scheduled board......Let's try to keep it on topic.

Picked up the silly string (Greivous Blaster) gun on Saturday for a clearance price of $6.50. Couldn't pass it up for that price. Other places still have them at $17.90 for clearance.

I bought my first true saga figure on Saturday. I got the C-3PO with battle droid head (it's the version with the battle driod head already attached). I've said it before and I'll say it again, I am not going to do what I did last year and drive around, wasting an a**load of gas just in the hopes of finding a figure. No more 8 AM Target/11PM Wal-Mart runs on the weekends either. It's just too stressful and expensive. I will collect the VOTC stuff and I don't care if I really get any UGH or bounty hunt or whatever they're calling it this week figures. If I luck into them great and if not oh well. I think I just hit the shows and work out some trades with dealers for anything I want that I can't find. I'll get what I come across that I find cool. Otherwise if Hasblo wants my dollar they can make this stuff easier to get.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: Vehicles: Do You Collect/Display Them?
« on: March 12, 2006, 07:31 PM »
I am all about the vehicles. I collect figures too but it's the vehicles I really dig. I don't have many displayed though due to space. I just have a speeder bike, Obi Wan's green ROTS star fighter and a POTF2 snowspeeder set out. I have bunch more but they are still in the boxes. Opened for the most part but still in the boxes. I'm dying to get the CW gunship and I'm hopeing that they come out with a new death star some day.

Yeah, if you were to end up paying more than $15 for one I'd say it's too much too soon.

I picked up an Ask Aak, Tarkin, Aayla Secura, Shaak Ti, kit fisto and a ploo koon in the TRU two packs. Did anyone else get the twisted broken ankle version of Aayla? In a way I'm kidding but it just seems to me that her leg is kind of twisted a little bit making it look like ankles broken or something. Not all that great of a figure now that I have it out of the pack.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: The Future of Star Wars Collecting
« on: January 31, 2006, 01:23 PM »
I haven't bought a single saga figure yet. I got so burnt out buying the ROTS stuff that I just couldn't stomach going into another year with another mountain of figures coming out. I'd be happy if they could just put out 12-20 figures a year, a playset or two, definatly lightsabers and blasters of various types and some ships. They way it used to be, back in the day. I think some of this new stuff is cool but the only thing outside of the 3 3/4 line, ships and playsets I've bought are a couple of unleashed, some of the exclusives and a set of the new hope galactic heros. I also picked up a few lightsabers (not MR) and blasters (not MR) and that's it. I'd love to see a new Death Star play set but I doubt that will ever happen. If they put out a new death star that was kick ass I may go out and start picking up the new saga line. Otherwise I'll wait until I can find a dealer at a show dumping stock to pick up the majority of Saga 2006. I look back on 2005 with ROTS and it was like I had a crack habit. I spent so much money on gas alone just trying to track this stuff down that it almost wasn't worth it. Honestly, I'm thinking of dumping everything and using the cash to go to shows and find the stuff I've always wanted, mostly vintage stuff I had and destroyed as a kid. I am all for the 3 3/4 unleashed idea on another thread though. I'd pick those up. That's primarily because hasblo wouldn't be pumping out 12 a week and mixing the assortments to make it nearly impossible to complete a run without owning your own gas pump and having a horde of lackeys hitting stores and picking stuff up for you. It's nuts. I went through this with POTF2 also, I don't have a single saga figure from the first time they did this and don't care about it. I don't have any PM or AOTC figures either. I do have all of the VOTC that I wanted. Sorry, just had to go on a bit of a rant and probably off topic.

I haven't bought a single Saga 06 figure yet. Just burnt from the ROTS line I guess. I'm sure I'll pick something up at some point. These on the other hand. I'll be all over these regardless on if they're chase or not.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: ROTS variation/error thread
« on: January 3, 2006, 12:00 PM »
I got to looking around a bit more and it seems to me that there are more than the two variants. When I first got to looking at mine compared to online photos it seemed that the first one was just really clean and the second one had battle damage and the brown stripe. Mine has battle damage but no stripe. That's neither here nor there, I just noticed mine had chest damage that wasn't visible on the ones I was seeing posted as the original release. But apparently there are also white hinge and yellow hinge versions going around as well. It seems to me that there are at least 3 variations on this figure, white rings, yellow rings and yellow rings with the brown stripe/ battle damage markings. The link below shows a white ring and a yellow ring version. Both appear to be before they added the brown strip and battle damage to the figure.

I want your opinions on a bly figure. I checked the picture on RS and compared mine to the two shown there. Mine shares qualities with both but doesn't really match either in my opinion. What do you guys think? Is this just the original release or another variation? On the first one I don't show a black stripe on his chest but on the corrected there is one. Mine has that black stripe. On the corrected there are brown stripes on the helmet and the leg. Mine does not have those brown stripes. Here's a pic of mine. It's a bit blurry but you should be able to compare what any of you have and the RS pic. Let me know what you think.

Honestly, I don't see anything wrong with any of them. Of course if all they did was re-release the original sculpts from the 70's and 80's I'd have been happy with that too. I like a good sculpt but I also want it to remind me it's a toy, that way I don't feel like I have these mini statues I feel have to really take care of. I haven't had much of a problem with any of the figures they've put out but the muscle bound figures from POTF2 did seem odd. Not to mention that first leia head sculpt from POTF2.

I haven't been able to pick anything up for awhile due to low funds but I did finally pick up a Tarkin last night. Odd, it was the only figure on the pegs other than vader. I'm missing lots of ROTS figures, I didn't focus on the common ones at the time thinking I'd pick them up later then I ran out of cash. Oh well, at least I got most of the hard ones to track down plus trade fodder when I get around to trying to complete the run.

These are boxed in an assortment with red guards? That explains all of the red guard figures I saw tonight when I picked these up. I missed on the tarkin once again.
