WM is getting them in around here too with taped bubbles Slothus, so you can add them...

Target's the only place I heard of heatsealed.  Which is really odd...  I wonder if it was an early production idea they decided to change, since Target started to get stuff first it seemed, or if it was something Target explicitly asked for...  Or if they even have the ability to make such a request.

Either way I prefer taped, though theft is so easily done,a s we've seen/heard of late.

I hope it's a grey deco NEW winged TIE Fighter...  If the Vader's TIE was that, I'd buy it as well.  They were grey, not blue-grey, so I've been a little bummed they haven't done ANH decoes.  Hope they do soon....  And not the old midget sculpt wings on the TIE either, blah.

I don't see why there's all the hype for this guy. He has a good sclupt, woohoo, no one went crazy over Gree for having the SA sculpt. Oh my!! look!! they stamped on a itty bitty teeny weeny 501st legion emblem!! cool!!

Well, nobody went crazy over Gree because, the SA sculpt is awesome...  for an SA Trooper, but for Gree the SA sculpt just sucked.  It wasn't accurate to his character, lacking the leg holster(s), the "suspenders", etc...

For the 501st Exclusive Trooper...  Eh, I don't know.  I'm stoked that they did use the SA sculpt since it surpasses all others.  This is just a Stormtrooper with some "flare" so I'm glad for the sculpt in that regard...  It's the best sculpt for the job, but the price will kill the figure from being affordable, and the exclusive label will hurt how available it is I'd assume.

The 501st them is a "fan wank" as they say, and nothing more...  I love the banner for reasons already stated.  I've seen custom banners like that for SW figures and I think they're a great touch of earth history to Star Wars life...  The 501st logo on the chest is cool, all part of the "fan wank" again, but I agree it should be in aurabesh, not English.

It's a cool figure...  It's not a cool army builder at its (inevitable) inflated price.  I still wish I had the ability to get one of these for every 10 Stormtroopers I have...  They're the perfect front line to a Stormtrooper army display.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: Any TSC Pegwarmers?
« on: April 25, 2006, 02:27 AM »
My situation sounds not too disimilar to anyone else's lately...

WM, since they got back into the game, seem to have a lot of Poggle, Bib, and Darth Vader...

Target I see Vader, Chewie, Poggle, Sun Fac (here and there though, not massive abundance, just one or two), Yoda (tons of him), Derlin, Snowtrooper, and I'm noticing Holo Mundi now and again more than I had been seeing him.

TRU is barren since the sale...  Barely any basic figures.  Some have none at all.  Stores that had a minimum of 10 pegs or so are whiped clean of basics save for the odd ROTS leftover like Mothma.

Other than that though I can't think off-hand of too many others...  I do see Derlin too at almost every store, but not in the HUGE quantities I used to see him at. T RU had the most and he is now long gone with the sale.  Same with Veers who used to be a big pegwarmer here as well.

Pegs are backing up with the stuff listed though...  Target's fairly full of junk.  Vader and Yoda I see the most at this point.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: Hasbro 1st Quarter Losses
« on: April 25, 2006, 02:17 AM »
There's other things listed as the focal points of the "loss" too in the article...  It's rough all over, but Rob's right they always generally are on a downslope 1st quarter...  X-Mas is over, retail cuts back...

It did, at least in part, read like Star Wars was unpopular and they'd have to rely on other licenses like Transformers and Marvel in the near future...  That seems comical to me given the state of things at retail, however...

While things have been selling well for most of 2006 it seems, I am noticing some heavy back-up on the pegs in the last month or so.  WM is just now catching up, and they are backing up with the same crap Target/TRU had last month...  The fact they went from barren to slight pegwarming at WM's in my area is a good indication things aren't FLYING off the shelves like they were in late 2005.

Interest will inevitably diminish for the line...  I think it's starting now, but I think it's still lively...  A lot of the 1st quarter slowdown seems to be either Hasbro misjudging demand and being unable to supply retailers, or retailers not putting in the proper orders...  Or both.

Now though, we're at May and things are starting to back up...  Certain figures.  Certain others aren't still, for whatever reason, and the line's lively I do believe...  I think it slowed though some, so what they say is "true" to an extent, but I also think they're covering up that they didn't gauge demand properly (possibly tied with Retail misjudgment too of course).

Seemed like they really wanted to say that Star Wars just magically fell from under their feet in January though, and that they spent 3 months of dismal performance, and as a collector I find it more true that THEY didn't get the figures to retailers...  Because I sure as **** was ready to buy and didn't find a whole lot out there in quantity.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: Revenge of the Sith - The Jedi
« on: April 25, 2006, 02:07 AM »
Still yet to get a really good Prequal Yoda or Mace Windu...

I'm pretty happy with ROTS Obi-Wan...  I'm happy with Evo Anakin too other than there's no really good one with Sith Eyes (perfect opportunity to re-release the Evo one, eh?), and the overall lack of availability on the Evolutions sets is a major detractor...  A good Anakin wasn't real easy to find.  ;D

The PIlot Obi-Wan was perfect.

Another re-release of Pilot Obi and Evolution Ani I'd buy is Mustar Duel versions.  All the burn damage on the duds, and I'd gladly rebuy these two figures, hands down.

I think MetalJedi's point was more towards Mace Windu being snubbed (yet again) to get a decent figure, and Yoda as well.

If you go further back too, AOTC needs good incarnations of its main Jedi, save perhaps Anakin, and so does E1...  A lot of good prequal ground for Hasbro to cover if they want to give "ultimate" versions of the main Jedi from each film.

Hey Hasbro! / Re: More Commandos!
« on: April 25, 2006, 12:10 AM »
I'm among the crowd that wouldn't really want the set without new legs...  Upper body on the figure is great, but from the waist down Scorch was a weak action figure.  No knee joints on figures, especially at these prices, is pretty obnoxious these days...  A 4-pack of the "team" is bound to be overpriced as it is, so utlizing the current sculpt + new legs wouldn't really hurt things...

Of course I don't look at lacking articulation as irrelevant...  It's probably the most important aspect of action figures to me.  Other lines have blown past Hasbro's standards, so it'd be great to see them set the bar a little higher...  especially on army builders like these.

From the looks of it Jagr messed up his shoulder bad.

I just saw the Jagr thing here on highlights a couple minutes ago...  Looked like he was trying to clip Gomez on his way past, and it basically turned around to bite him and hurt his arm...  Not good.  Looked like it hurt...

It's nice OLN at least has some of the games on.  I'm enjoying the Dallas/Colorado game at the moment.

All the bars have like 1 TV on hockey and all others on Baseball for the Pirates of Basketball for god knows what.

I hate him...  Bastard.

The focus on the word "constant" I do think is a stretch and I agree with Rob that it means any number of things...  So to that extent, I think mutually agreed-to swinging is what it is, and not (to me) morally or ethically wrong...

That's what it boils down to really though.  Infidelity is a question of ethics and morals.  Do you feel it's wrong to do this, and if so it's wrong if you do this...  Nothing more, nothing less.  If you feel it's your right to "cheat", it simply isn't within your moral/ethical code then...  What the topic is about though is infidelity which I tend to assume means that the people discussing it agree it's "wrong" so that to do that act is to basically be immoral to their own beliefs.  Others may disagree...  I was just working under the assumption for (at least) the majority.

I don't look at swinging as immoral, someone may, but it's not my business...  And if everyone in it is in agreeance and everything's on the up-and-up (my turn for a  :-X I guess) then hey, whatever...  I definitely don't view cheating/infidelity and "swinging" as being the same though.  Again though, that's really a moral decision despite the definitions even.  Some moral codes are going to label "swinging" as infidelity despite the definition I'd think.

I don't know...  Anyway to me it's not cheating but I don't think you're doing yourself any favors if you actually care about who you're with, but what do I know...

Being "for" infidelity is going to be along the same lines (morally) with most people as those who condone theft...  You'd basically be **** upon by most, and really can anyone blame the masses for it?

You're right DR that it's tough to know, though I've found most people (when they are liars) give it away...  I'd imagine infidelity would be even easier to spot.  Hopefully everyone has trusting, caring, honest relationships though that it doesn't register as a problem for them...  I truly hope that for everyone here, of course.

My girl's a good one now, despite Name's claims...  He's just jealous that all he has are his inflatable dolls.  I've banged them, he doesn't even know, and I didn't even wipe up when I was done, so hah!  She was good too, but kept deflating...

Saga Collection '06 / Re: Terrible Previously Released Figures
« on: April 24, 2006, 03:51 AM »
Some of it I try to gauge by the standards set by the period...  So to that extent, POTF2 isn't as brutal to tear apart for me...  But yeah, it sucks to look back at some of what I've bought and really looked hard for at times.

E1's full of dismal failures...  POTF2 as well, but at the time I really was impressed with a lot of it.  E1 though was so-so.  I remember at the time thinking, "Man, they can do better than this...  It's the first new movie year for god's sake!".  I just felt let down at the time...

POTJ's opening couple waves really were more of the same from E1 too...  Yet E1/1999 went out great with the last of the commtech figures which were HOT.  The Stormie was great for its time, and it really stands up even today as "alright" even against the VOTC figure.  Sure the VOTC is miles better, but as the filler for the legion, the CT sculpt is pretty decent and abundant.

For me, my worst time collecting was 2002 as far as the ratio of crap to quality...  2002's opening onslaught of Saga figures was my worst nightmare.  Action features galore, and pre-posed non-articulated sculpts.

The blast effects were cool, but sculpts were iffy, poses sucked, articulation was non-existant most of that year, and really it was just a dismal failure of a line for not just the fans, but also Hasbro took major hits that year in Star Wars.  I was so happy we got all the apology Jedi in 2005...  Little bummed no Barriss Offee, that's all.

2002 is filled with shite product to me though...  If I was gonna seriously sit down and list what I viewed as crap, a WHOLE lot of the first Saga line would be in my top spots.  POTF2 is what it is, and at the time a lot of it was great (Nein Numb was cool to me, but he obviously blows today, or Garindan was nice then, crap now).  Saga though had a precedent that was ABOVE what it delivered...  We went from POTJ going out on an overall GREAT note, to the preview wave...  To pre-posed AND action-feature-laden figures...  It just got worse and worse.  I don't think Saga improved really till around even the Outlander Wave...  That was a whole lotta suckin' going on.

I may have to do that Kahuna, thanks.

Brian's Toys has the Mace and Vader sabers on sale in their latest catalogue too.  I need Vader's yet...  Have to get it at this nice new price.

I've grown up in a semi-similar situation MWB, with parents who didn't get along...

Mine didn't cheat, but they stayed together for my brother's and I...  It was really ultimately the wrong thing.  My parents are sort of the old-school mentality though where the wife stays with the husband...  He worked, my mother didn't have the career and independance she could (should) have...  No infidelity or physical abuse or anything, but I can attest that mental abuse is just as bad if not worse.

Not the best situation for children or my mother...  Funny how you look at, say grandparents then, and see the traits that make your parents who they are, and act the ways they do...  What's scary is finding some of the same traits in yourself though.  I catch myself sometimes, and try to supress it.  I don't like it.

Boyle was the wicked wrister, right Rob?  I was catching highlights tonight and thought that was quite a nice goal.  St. Louis' was nice too, but a fairly sloppy rebound and defensive job on the play overall, but Boyle's shot was just raw power...

Is Jagr hurt Dave?  I didn't catch that anywhere so now I'm curious.  He has rampant groin injuries his last couple years here to where it was affecting his entire seasons.  He had such a stellar year in NY this year though that I figured he was his spry young self all over again.
