Whoah baby.  This season is starting to shape up well.  I'm still a little hesistant to proclaim that the curse is going to end this year, but damn, you just have to think, don't ya?

The offense is on fire.  Bill Mueller, the number 8 hitter, had 3 home runs last night, two of them grand slams.  That's 9 RBIs from a supposed "scrub".  He's having a career year and plays a solid third base.

Baby Theo Epstein shows he knows what he's doing, trading for desperately needed players and still keeping the core team intact.  Last night they trade for Scott Willamson from the Reds.  A solid right handed closer who will add a lot to the bullpen.  Add him to BY Kim, Todd Jones and Scott Sauerback, the other recent pickups, and you have a bullpen any club would be lucky to have.  With decent set up Alan Embree and Mike Timlin, our bullpen woes have been solved.

Now my question is, do you make Willamson the closer and move Kim back to the starting rotation?  Either way, it works and Grady Little now has a ton of options.

There's still one day left until the trading deadline and I'm hearing Theo ain't done yet.  The latest rumor I'm hearing is Casey Fossum and another minor leaguer for Toronto's Kelvim Escobar.  That would definitely strengthen the starting rotation, the one lone spot that still scares me a little.  (see earlier post about Burkett and Mendoza).

Old Georgie boy down in New York has to be sweating. He hasn't made that blockbuster trade he usually does (yet), he's probably still bitching and moaning about this past weekend and his team not having the chemistry it has had the past few years, he has every right to be worried.

If anything, it will definitely be an interesting run to the rest of the season.  Here's hoping.

You know, that Merman isn't all that bad.  What color was his chest protector originally? (the lime green part) It might make a good alternate for people who couldn't find him before or are getting into this line late.

The Skeletor is blasphemy all around.

Tri-Klops would be ok if it weren't for the neon green highlights.

Some more thoughts after viewing the better pics over at ADC:

Colossus keeps getting better and better.

I like MF's hands, although his head still looks a little big.  Maybe it's his "balloon head" look.   ;)

Blade is a perfect likeness of Snipes.  His motorcycle looks a little funky, though.

Fury looks cool.  I heard he's coming with his trademark stogie.  Where is it?  It does look like his mouth is sculpted for it.

Red Skull - awesome, I still hoping he won't be that hard to find.

Silver Surfer / HtD - cool.  Surfer has magnets in his board, so all sorts of positions are available for him.

Anyone?  Here's a hint:  Jag Fel has four siblings.

If no one answers, a new question will be posted tomorrow.

Actually, now that I think about it, I probably hate more people than I like :)

Same here.

But I can't wait to have kids.  The wife knows it, my parents know it and anyone who asks will know it.  All the wife has to do is give me the word and it will be done  ;)  Hopefully within the next couple of years, we'll get started (or sooner).

I even have toys for them already - four of the SW Playskool sets.  When I showed the wife, she just  ::) . I soon found out from one of her co-workers that she actually loves them and are one some of her favorite items in my collection.

Since I buy comics almost every week and buy almost everything Star Wars related, I have no need for TPBs.  I will, however, buy a TPB if I didn't buy the regular comic book.

Well they did take take two out of three against the Yanks this weekend with some great come from behind victories.  That's a start.  They just can't have their usual late August / early September break downs.

Uh Matt, you do realize that Anna is no longer married to, dating and / or sleeping with Sergei anymore, right?  They broke up a couple of years ago - What can I say, I love pop culture and keep up on these things (Plus its Anna, I like to know what's she's doing  ;)).  Your best chance of seeing Anna in person is to go see a Enrique Inglesias concert.  He's her current flame.  Although I don't see you as much of an Enrique fan.

Looks like I'll be buying that box set.  I'm in the same boat as you Virex.  I was going to buy Vacation and Christmas Vacation and not bother with European and Vegas.  The wife loves European and Vegas isn't the best but it does have its moments, so the box set it is.

I'm just glad it doesn't come out on the 2nd.

Who are his siblings?

Matt, I can easily get you the Xwing and Falcon.  $15 for the former and $30 for the latter.  In fact, its the only two sets I need and I thought these were long gone.  About a month ago, I stumbled onto them at a KB.  They probably still sitting there, as they were a few weeks later when I went in.  Although it might be better for you to pick up the MF near you, pay the extra $5 and save on shipping.  This thing is heavy. Let me know if you want the Xwing, I'll get it for you and we'll work something out.

Yeah, I showed it to the wife last night and she was impressed.  She usually gives two ***** about stuff like that.  She's spreading the word at work.
