Ok, sorry for another thread starting...and I wasn't sure if this exactly "belonged" with the other Marvel thread or not. But, the Marvel Secret Wars toyline was one of my favorites as a kid. I wasn't able to get a whole lot of them myself (Spidey, Doc Ock - who lost his tentacles along the way, Wolverine - who lost his claws), but combined with ones my friends had, we could get quite a battle going :) I always liked the whole storyline of the Secret Wars, and I think I still have my old figures somewhere, buried in a box. Anyways, always thought it was a neat line, was anyone else into this as a kid (or now)?

I had a Captain America but none of the others, for some reason even though I read Marvel, the DC toys were a lot better and I had far more of them

That's funny, that's kind of how I was as well Scott. I read Marvel comics much more, and Spidey was my favorite, but I did end up having a lot more DC toys. Plus, I really dug the Super Friends back in the day...and have caught it a few times on "Boomerang" now too. Good stuff.

I think this time frame reasonably encompasses a period that could be be referred to as my drunk years. As such, toys were rather low on the priority list. I have a few odd, old Marvel toys - Venom, Green Goblin, Cable, Spidey - but all are post Secret Wars era. My comic collecting days began shorly after the end of Secret Wars and I had to buy back issues to finish the set.
Strange how my collecting start roughly corresponds to the infection of Spidey with a parasite.
DC sucks. 'Nuff said.

Sounds like we got into comics at about the exact same time, I remember finding Secret Wars #4 on the rack and falling in love, still is one of my favorite story arcs of all time, even though it was a big toy commercial

I still have at least a few of these. I think I have Wolverine, Spiderman, Captain America, Iron Man, Falcon, Kang, Magneto, Doctor Doom and Doc Ock. I haven't even looked at these in some time.

I still have all mine, I loved the Storyline and I loved the toys. I mean this is the story that gave us the Symbiote costume :) The European figures were some of the coolest, Electro, Constrictor, Iceman, Hobgoblin and Falcon. I think the last 2 i mentioned were around here in the US but were tough to come by. I have them all.
I always wondered if there were any prototypes of othewr figures they wanted to make, I would love to see them.

I had most of them as a kid and still own them! It is a cool figure line and I loved the 1st Secret Wars comics series.

Ive got all of them except the Constrictor, Iceman, and Electro. I'm still looking for these. I got into them as the line was ending and got the majority of them on clearance for something like 2.00 a piece. This was a great line, and customising them even back in the day was so easy, I had several figures many times over customised. Unfortunately, the paint I used when I was 11 didnt stand the test of time I'm afraid. But this just gives me an excuse to start over. ;D

WOW! This thread goes back to 2004?!?!?
Like I mentioned in the ancient Super Powers thread, I'm preparing to sell off my vintage Secret Wars figures. If anyone is interested please feel free to reach out.

I would be interested in a Secret Wars line. Let me know what you've got and what you want for it.
