I've got another question for y'all:

Does anyone here own the Anakin ROTS 1:1 MR lightsaber?
I think its going to be my next purchase.. it seems to have a little better ebay price than the Luke Ep. IV saber and I actually like the design a little more.. seems to be a little more streamlined than the Luke saber (even though its supposed to be the same one.) guess I've just really gotten into the whole prequel thing ever since I saw ROTS.

got my 1:1 ROTS Yoda saber in the mail today... so cool  ;D

thing's got some weight to it and the weathering is superb. If I buy another saber anytime soon it'll be a 1:1 Sidious. besides the theaterical signifigance of it next to my Yoda saber I think the thing just looks cool and they go for about the same price as the Yoda one (less than $300) so that works for me.
not ready to commit to anything else quite yet though. this one measly saber will have to do for now  :P

I want a carded luke and R2 as well..

and isn't it interesting how the Droids Boba is different from the regular Series 1 Boba? he's got a different belt and his flame thrower gauntlet is different. does he share the same mold as the "Jedi" or "Prototype" chase Fetts?

did the vintage Droids C-3PO share the same artwork as the vintage Droids R2-D2??

No.  The artwork on the Droids 3PO card was different from the R2 card..

There was a company called Glasslite from Brazil that released Droids figures, and every single figure had the same card front. Just as an FYI.

yes.. but not the card front that C-3PO comes with..

The Glasslite Droids C-3PO has the same exact cardfront as all the other Glasslite Droids figures.

Example of a Glasslite 3PO

Example of Glasslite R2D2

sorry amigo. what I meant was although the Glasslite's share the same card fronts the art that comes on the R2 that Bikeridetony bought is different from the art that comes on the Kenner C-3PO.

I knew that image was from somewhere... that picture of C-3PO and R2 cowering below that shuttle looking thing is hard to forget just cuz its weird looking I guess..
so DON'T DO BIKERIDETONY!!!1111 sell R2 to meee  ;)

To tell the truth, the carded R2 I have already has a bad backercard.  It's warped and I should've sent it back to the seller but I didn't want to hassle with it.  It's been bugging me ever since.  I pretty much have collected most of the carded figures as carded and uncarded with the exception of the Bape Fett, Vader, and Parco Sandtrooper which are just way too expensive.  R2 was the last on my list.  I don't think $66 was that great a deal either.  Anyway, the Droids 3PO was just an excuse to bite the bullet and get another one so I had something to scan.  I would much rather do a Droids C-3PO that looks like the Kenner one but I'm not sure how the Kubricks would translate into those positions.  I'll look into it though.  Thanks for those Brazilian Droids pics.  Really cool...  By the way, did anyone else get an e-mail from Ryo at Robby?  I just ordered another master case.

no worries man.. just whining a little.  ;D

Waffen,

I won the Droids R2 so I could uncard it to scan for the C-3PO Droids Kustom Karded Kubrick.  Sorry about that!

...

I'm a little speachless. On the one hand I think that's awesome.
On the other I think its a crime!  :P

oh wells.. wanna make $10 or $20 on it and sell it to me when you get it? that'll put your customizing on hold for a little while but you'd have a couple extra bucks in your pocket and the toy would be guaranteed to remain MOC until the end of time as far as I'm concerned..
there has to be some way around removing the bubble in order to get the cardback artwork for your custom C-3PO.. I've been a professional graphic designer for about 5 years now and do that kind of stuff in my sleep everyday at work... but its a tough challenge to scan the card without making it flat by removing the bubble.
but actually- did the vintage Droids C-3PO share the same artwork as the vintage Droids R2-D2?? if they had different artwork then what your doing would actually not be historically correct. I'm pretty sure they shared the same art but I can't be  100% positive. if they didn't SPARE the Kubrick C-3PO and if you're up to it create your own artwork in Illustrator based on the vintage cardback artwork only "Kubricised" in the style Medicom does so well  ;D

goddamnit.... a Droids R2-D2 went for $66 last night and a carded "Farm Boy" Luke went for something like $36 on ebay :o :o

sooo pissed at myself for flaking out and not bidding on those auctions.. they might have sold for a lot higher amount if I did though.  :-\

no doubt the collectors club thing sounds awesome.. I'm just too broke from my latest purchase to afford a membership  ;D

it sounds like you do get a grip of stuff when you sign up. i may have to look into joining in a month or two when i'm sure my prop addiction will really take hold.
