I wasn't sure if these would be on this year's cardbacks, or next year's "30th" ones - but I figured since they are supposed to be out in 2006 they might belong here. I was just looking through some of the slide show pics at the various sites, and noticed this one at RS (http://www.rebelscum.com/sdcc06/sdcc06-HasbroQA/image34.asp). Is that a repainted VTSC Biker Scout as BARC Trooper? Maybe my eyes are deceiving me. Looks like a new/retooled AOTC Padme too, maybe using the Droid Escape body with a non-screaming head? Could be some nice clone repaints on our way the rest of the year, as well as the Wal-Mart exclusive figures.
-
I still can't believe that they are throwing 22 repaints/repacks at us to end the year. The clones are nice, but where's the "new" new stuff? ???

The Ugly (aka: if it was sculpted pre-1999, just let it go):
Saga-071 Nabrun Leeds and Kabe
Saga-072 Labria
-
Some of the repaints are not that bad. Here is my take on some of the figures on the BAD:
Saga-055 Kit Fisto (good sculpt and great fodder)
Saga-056 Holographic Commander Cody (OK and cool that he still has a removable helmet)
Saga-061 Super Battle Droid (Clones need something to shoot at, but would have been better if had more articulation ::))
Saga-066 Yareal Poof (good sculpt and great fodder)
Saga-070 Kitik Keedkak (OK and great fodder)
Saga-073 Aurra Sing (cool idea and great fodder, but could have been better with a resculpt ::))
Saga-071 Nabrun Leeds and Kabe (OK and great fodder, but could have been better with a resculpt ::))

I can't believe they are rereleasing POTF2 figures...Padme and Aurra might be on the cusp, the Holo figs don't bother me
-
My list, which differs from all of yours...
The Good:
Saga-058 R5-A1 Imperial Astromech Droid
Saga-061 Super Battle Droid
Saga-062 Battle Droid 2-Pack
Saga-064 Commander Appo
Saga-065 BARC Trooper
Saga-067 Darth Vader’s Astromech Droid
Saga-070 Kitik Keedkak
Saga-071 Nabrun Leeds and Kabe
Saga-072 Labria
Saga-074 Mace Windu’s Astromech Droid
The Bad:
Saga-054 Chewbacca (Cloud City)
Saga-055 Kit Fisto
Saga-057 Clone Trooper (442nd Siege Battalion)
Saga-059 Clone Trooper (5th Fleet Security)
Saga-060 Clone Trooper Sergeant
Saga-066 Yareal Poof
Saga-068 Padme Amidala
Saga-069 Clone Trooper Engineer
The Ugly:
Saga-053 Darth Maul (Sith Training)
Saga-056 Holographic Commander Cody
Saga-063 Holographic Obi-Wan Kenobi
Saga-073 Aurra Sing
And now to explain myself.
The Good:
Any Astromech repaints are always good, and I'm happy to see some new, unique ones coming. Appo is good because it's basically the SA 501st trooper we should have gotten last year. The Battle Droids may have goofy paintjobs, but I find them decent, and I need Droids for my CIS army, so huzzah. SA BARCs, need I say more? And while you guys may hate the POTF2 Cantina repacks, I never got them the first time around, so I'll be glad to buy them for my ever growing Cantina!
The Bad:
First, Padme and Yareal could end up being good, but they're rehashes, and don't meet the standards here in 2006. Cloud City Chewie and CW Kit Fisto are good figures, but suck by 2006 standards. And while I WILL be buying the Clones, I put them in the bad area because they're off-screen Clones, and I'm growing tired of them pumping out ROTS Clones. Good of them to put out the AOTC Clone Sergant, but we got it in the EE 4 packs. If it were a basic white Clone, it would be better.
The Ugly:
Holographic figures always suck, IMO, so they'll be placed in the ugly. Darth Maul Sith Training was only cool in the original Saga line because he had that AWESOME metal double bladed lightsaber, so ugly. And Aurra Sing from a comic might please her fans, but I'm only familiar with her one second of screen time in TPM, so she gets on the ugly list.
-
I'm sorta torn... Some good, some not so good.
For my $ there are going to be some passes here. I'm happy with all the Clones personally... Though I agree the AOTC Sergeant probably should've been a basic white. Though at the same time, Sergeants should be abundant too, and I know I don't have enough of them or Lt.'s. Yellow and Red I'm maxed out on.
I could use more Sarges but I really would like more white Troopers. At this point I'd even prefer the Evolution one in all white with toned down damage markings just because I think he's the best sculpt.
I wonder why Hasbro has decided to take this new path with figures... They sorta blow their load for the first 8 or so months of the year, then the last bit they crank out repaints. Last year's repaints were a bitch to find too... Will we have this same problem?
I like the Clones and Battledroids a ton, and would hate to think I can't army build these simply because they'll be hard to find like last year's figures were in the final waves. :(
-
For me, this is a much weaker group of figs than last year's repack/repaint waves. The off screen clones just don't do it for me, and the selection really isn't all that. But it saves me money, so no complaints. I'm really happy to see the Clone Sergent, since he's the only AOTC clone I don't have. The BARC Trooper is the biggest nicest surprise, especially with the sculpt, but he'll also be this year's Tac Ops Trooper, so. Holo figs, okay, but never saw Holo Plo Koon. I'm feeling a little negative ned so I'll stop there.

The Good:
Saga-058 R5-A1 Imperial Astromech Droid
Saga-067 Darth Vader’s Astromech Droid
Saga-074 Mace Windu’s Astromech Droid
The Bad:
Saga-069 Clone Trooper Engineer
Saga-059 Clone Trooper (5th Fleet Security)
Saga-060 Clone Trooper Sergeant
Saga-062 Battle Droid 2-Pack
Saga-064 Commander Appo
Saga-065 BARC Trooper
Saga-057 Clone Trooper (442nd Siege Battalion)
Saga-053 Darth Maul (Sith Training)
Saga-054 Chewbacca (Cloud City)
Saga-055 Kit Fisto
Saga-056 Holographic Commander Cody
Saga-061 Super Battle Droid
Saga-063 Holographic Obi-Wan Kenobi
Saga-066 Yareal Poof
Saga-068 Padme Amidala
Saga-070 Kitik Keedkak
Saga-073 Aurra Sing
Saga-071 Nabrun Leeds and Kabe
Saga-072 Labria
Look at all the $$ I will save the last half of this year. I could understand flooding us with Prequel Fanfic Crap if 2007 was being treated like the 30th of the Original Star Wars, but instead it is more like the 2nd anniversary of ROTS. I'm surprised we didn't get an army of Gungans too.
The most disappointing part is the total lack of the "Yavin Wave" that was rumored so long ago.
-
The Good:
Saga-056 Holographic Commander Cody
Saga-058 R5-A1 Imperial Astromech Droid
Saga-060 Clone Trooper Sergeant
Saga-061 Super Battle Droid (Island Camo)
Saga-067 Darth Vader’s Astromech Droid
Saga-071 Nabrun Leids and Kabe
The Bad:
Everything else

I wonder why Hasbro has decided to take this new path with figures... They sorta blow their load for the first 8 or so months of the year, then the last bit they crank out repaints. Last year's repaints were a bitch to find too... Will we have this same problem?
It's all about reading between the lines of what was presented and mentioned at Comic-Con. It seems to me Hasbro wasn't intending to continue the "TSC" line past the Naboo wave, but something changed that - perhaps a change in direction of when the 30th Anniversary styled product packaging would be hitting the market. Based on the release dates for the final 22 TSC figures, it looks like the 30th Ann. line won't be hitting until April or May, in time for the true 30th anniversary date. That might be something Lucasfilm requested and would work on the theory that there are only 8 waves in that line (based on the mention that waves 1-8 would include McQuarrie based figures) as that would be 1 wave per month for the remainder of 2007.
Another question is, whatever happened to this Yavin Wave we keep hearing about? Was it ever finished in pre-production, is it available for mass production yet, did it ever exist, or are they holding it off for the 30th ann. line? If it was ready, then why not release it now? More likely than not it wasn't ready or they realized it would be economically sensible to release it next year and cut costs on the pre-production costs for the 30th ann. line. This way they can save money by doing repaints for the final 22 figures of the TSC line.
As for the final 22 and my thoughts on them, based on the idea that these would all have to be quick repaints....
What I'll Buy (aka The Pretty Good)

Saga-058 R5-A1 Imperial Astromech Droid
Saga-059 Clone Trooper (5th Fleet Security)
Saga-060 Clone Trooper Sergeant
Saga-064 Commander Appo
Saga-065 BARC Trooper
Saga-067 Darth Vader’s Astromech Droid
Saga-074 Mace Windu’s Astromech Droid
Saga-069 Clone Trooper Engineer
Saga-070 Kitik Keedkak

Ok Idea If You Really Need To Pump Out Repaints To Help Some Fans (The Fair)
Saga-056 Holographic Commander Cody
Saga-066 Yareal Poof
Saga-071 Nabrun Leeds and Kabe
Saga-072 Labria
Why The **** Did You Waste Your Time With This **** When There Are Better Things To Do With These Characters/Figures (The Bad)
Saga-053 Darth Maul (Sith Training)
Saga-054 Chewbacca (Cloud City)
Saga-063 Holographic Obi-Wan Kenobi
-
Since nobody asked, here's my list of the Good, the Bad and so forth...
FIGURES I AM ACTUALLY EXCITED ABOUT:
Saga 056-Commander Cody Hologram
Saga 058-Imperial Astromech Droid R5-A1
Saga 065-BARC Trooper
Saga 067-Darth Vader's (?) Astromech
Saga 074-Mace Windu's Astromech
CLONES THAT I WILL END UP BUYING IF THEY DON'T LOOK SILLY:
Saga 057-442nd Siege Batallion Clone Trooper
Saga 059-5th Fleet Security Clone Trooper
Saga 060-Clone Trooper Sergeant (only if it's the Evolutions RH version)
Saga 064-Commander Appo (take the pauldron off and it's an SA 501st)
Saga 069-Clone Trooper (the golden one)
FIGURES I WOULD BUY IF I DIDN'T HAVE THEM ALREADY:
Saga 055-Kit Fisto (Clone Wars)
Saga 066-Yarael Poof
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, YOU'RE KIDDING RIGHT?
Saga 053-Darth Maul Sith Training
Saga 054-Chewbacca (Cloud City Capture)
Saga 061-Gangrene Super Battle Droid
Saga 062-Gangrene Battle Droids
Saga 068-Padme Amidala (Arena Battle)
Saga 070-Kitik Keedkak
Saga 071-Nabrun Lieds and Kabe
Saga 072-Labria
Saga 073-Aurra Sing
The holographic Obi-Wan is the only one that I will buy but I'm not too excited about. I need another CW Fisto since mine has the Chris Farley from "Dirty Work" problem of a half-nose, but whoever made the decision to rerelease Maul, Chewie, Labria, and Nabrun Lieds in those forms needs to be fired. I do find it funny, though, that Wal-Mart is getting the last five figures as an exclusive wave, and they're the least inspired figures of the bunch. If WM overorders, they might as well wheel that case straight to the clearance aisle.
-
I think these year end repacks & repaints are the ideal time to re-release hard to find figures like Ki Fitso and Kit Keetak, both of which I will hopefully buy.
During the AOTC years, I was never a clone fan, but I went a bit crazy last year, so I will be buying as many of these repaints as possible, I think they look pretty good and it's nice to get an AOTC sculpt in the mix.
I can't BELIEVE they are re-releasing Sith training, though, as that figure blew (except for the metal saber, which I still have, thankfully).
The Aurra Sing figure is just UUUGLY. I would have been all over it if it was even slightly retooled, but it shares the exact same awkward body as her predecessor.
I'll also pick up just about ANY astromech repaint in the world and I'm glad we're getting some battle droids out again (not 100% jazzed about the paint scheme, but I can live with it). I hope they release these guys in big numbers, as my clone army is getting big and they need some droids to duke it out with.
All in all, for a group of repaints, these guys aren't bad. But, last year I couldn't find so many of the year end rehashes so I hope this year will be bettter.
Oh, as for that Padme - i already customized myself an identical figure a couple of years ago. I think I'm owed some royalty payments or something....
-
Can anyone at the Con confirm that the AOTC-style Clone Sergeant figure is the 2003 SA/2005 EE four pack body and not the 2005 Evolutions version with a removable helmet?
The photos definitely make it look like the former, and the only way I'm going to buy one is if it is of the latter variety. With Hasbro's big **** you/switcheroo on the 501st last fall (from SA to AT-TE Gunner bodies), I'm trying to see where I can save myself a bit of money (and leave some Clones on the pegs for other people).
-
Great. Another series of figures I won't find.
-
The only ones I see myself buying are the Astromechs.
I wouldn't mind picking up a few more Kit Fistos and maybe a Yareal Poof or 2 for customizing, but the Astromechs are the only ones I really "want".
-
The Good:
Holographic Commander Cody
Holographic Obi-Wan Kenobi
BARC Trooper (Army Build)
Vader's Astro droid
Mace's Astro Droid
R5-A1
442nd Clone Trooper (Army Build)
Clone Sergeant (Army Build)
Commander Appo
Gold Clone Trooper (Army Build)

Super Battle Droid ( Army Build & a few Re-paints)
Kitik Keedkak
Nabrun Lieds & Kabe
The HORRID!
Padme Amidala (What No New Figure!? :-\ )

Darth Mual
Aurra Sing
Labria
-
When I saw the official list, I counted 4 figures out of the 22 that I'm really interested in;
The imperial Droid
BARC Trooper
Clone Sergent
Commander Appo
The rest are either EU, repacks or hollows. Not good waves.
-
The Good:
Saga-055 Kit Fisto
Saga-056 Holographic Commander Cody
Saga-057 Clone Trooper (442nd Siege Battalion)
Saga-058 R5-A1 Imperial Astromech Droid
Saga-059 Clone Trooper (5th Fleet Security)
Saga-060 Clone Trooper Sergeant
Saga-064 Commander Appo
Saga-065 BARC Trooper
Saga-067 Darth Vader’s Astromech Droid
Saga-068 Padme Amidala
Saga-070 Kitik Keedkak
Saga-074 Mace Windu’s Astromech Droid

Saga-063 Holographic Obi-Wan Kenobi
The Bad:

Saga-061 Super Battle Droid
Saga-062 Battle Droid 2-Pack
Saga-066 Yareal Poof
Saga-068 Padme Amidala
Saga-070 Kitik Keedkak
Saga-073 Aurra Sing
The Ugly (aka: if it was sculpted pre-1999, just let it go):
Saga-071 Nabrun Leeds and Kabe
Saga-072 Labria
I'm a little concerned with finding these as well, as the "Final 12" last year weren't exactly easy to come by around here - not all of them anyways. I'm general pretty happy with all of the clones, I just like the ROTS clone style. The BARC trooper, while maybe not 100% accurate, has me pretty excited as well. I hope I can find a handful of those, or at least 1 or 2 :). Although I sort of agree with Jeff about not re-releasing figures that were made prior to 1999, I did miss out on those Cantina aliens, so I'll gladly pick them up (as well as Kitik). I might get the Padme as well, as it might work as a nice "basic" AOTC Padme. I never did see that Clone Wars Kit Fisto at retail, so I'd be happy to grab that one too. I'm on the fence with the holo figures - I haven't picked up a ton of them so far - but I might end up getting those too. Out of the whole "wave", definitely the ROTS clones and the astromechs - we can always use more of those.
-
I'm surprised by the lack of theme or new stuff for this group of figs. But, it really doesn't hurt me to save some money on figures I don't want. I'll probably pick up the following:
Saga-056 Holographic Commander Cody
Saga-058 R5-A1 Imperial Astromech Droid
Saga-060 Clone Trooper Sergeant
Saga-064 Commander Appo (Why does he have a paladrin, though?)
Saga-065 BARC Trooper
Saga-066 Yareal Poof
-
I'm an opener but for some dumb reason, I thought it would be a good idea to collect the TSC line carded as a complete set.
Maybe I'll rethink that idea - these last 22 figures are just stupid to buy again considering I already have them loose on my shelf!
-
What I'll buy:
Saga-056 Holographic Commander Cody
Saga-057 Clone Trooper (442nd Siege Battalion) x4
Saga-058 R5-A1 Imperial Astromech Droid
Saga-059 Clone Trooper (5th Fleet Security) x4
Saga-064 Commander Appo
Saga-065 BARC Trooper x4
Saga-067 Darth Vader’s Astromech Droid
Saga-068 Padme Amidala
Saga-074 Mace Windu’s Astromech Droid
Saga-069 Clone Trooper Engineer x4
Saga-063 Holographic Obi-Wan Kenobi
Saga-068 Padme Amidala
What I won't buy:
Saga-055 Kit Fisto
Saga-060 Clone Trooper Sergeant
Saga-070 Kitik Keedkak
Saga-053 Darth Maul (Sith Training)
Saga-054 Chewbacca (Cloud City)
Saga-061 Super Battle Droid
Saga-062 Battle Droid 2-Pack
Saga-066 Yareal Poof
Saga-070 Kitik Keedkak
What I ask myself "What are they smoking?"
Saga-071 Nabrun Leeds and Kabe
Saga-072 Labria
Saga-073 Aurra Sing
Seriously, whoever painted that Aurra Sing looks like they were on acid. That might be the worst figure I've ever seen.
But in an effort to not whine and complain like is so common these days, I will say Hasbro was right on the mark with issuing repaints of clones and astromech droids. They cannot go wrong with those. Although if they were gonna make another Padme, why issue her for the third time in a white outfit when there are many non-white AOTC outfits they could pick?
Oops, I complained again! :P
-
Can someone point out where people were clamoring for these Clone Repaints and Holo Cody? I didn't see a lot of people asking for made up Clone Troopers...but that's just me. I did see people asking for the BARC though and I'm glad as spit he's coming A lot of this other stuff though is a little weird. And again, why they are making the gold or blue stripe version over the actual Canonical Grey trimmed Clone is also a little weird. I'll take the astromechs and the Clones though, repacking POTF2 figures can stop right about....NOW
-
Well personally I like the clonetroopers myself. But you are right Scott. Hardly anyone was asking for those "just off the screen" clonetrooper repaints. At least they are using SA molds, scuplts or whatever they call it. The camo decorated battle droids crack me up. That's more a joke than anything I saw from Hasbro at the Comic Con. Is this for real? LOL. Ok Hasbro.
Anyway what I like and don't like is as follows:
Am intrested in getting these (does not mean I will):
R5 Imperial Astromech Droid (will look nice next to my POTJ R2 Imp Droid)
Commander Appo - (Because it's basically a 501st SA sculpt)
BARC Trooper (I am looking forward to the most I think)
Kit Fisto (Because I like Kit but never got this Clone Wars version)
Holgraphic Cody (I just dig it ok?)
Green Clonetrooper AOTC Sergeant (Did not get EE 4 packs at all)
Blue Dashes on armor Clonetrooper (I'm a sucker for SA clonetroopers)
CloneTrooper ROTS Green Version (Again a sucker)
Clonetrooper - Engineer (Big time sucker)
Just not that into the following:
Vader's Astromech - It's fine but I don't need it and can't buy everything.
Padme Amidala - Ha-ha-ha-ha, man that looks terrible IMO.
Mace Windu's Astromech - No, just not feeling a purple astromech droid.
Holgraphic Kenobi - I like it but won't buy it.
Nabrun Leids - Nice repaint but won't buy it again.
Kabe - Nice to see him available but already got it.
Not a chance that I will buy these:
Camo SBD - No, don't like these from the films and not this deco either.
Camo BD 2 packs - Might have bought regular painted versions from films.
Kitik - Got Her now....cool chance for others that did not though.
Labria - That is soooooo 1990's....make a new sculpt or don't at all.
Yarael Poof - Ok, but I have one and gave it a lightsaber.
Chewbacca - I have it and suppose this is "for the kids"
Aura Sing - Hideous IMO. Nobody asked for that to be repainted or released.
That's it I think.
-
Oh...and one other thing I thought of the other day when doing some research in to Who's Left From the Cantina...there are quite a few Nabrun Leids type aliens running around...so depending on if I can actually find these Wally World figures at the store, I still may pick that one up
Also a little odd they didn't find a way to repaint a protocol droid for an easy E-3PO, U-3PO or TC-14 rerelease
-
Okay, I'll play.
53 - Darth Maul - Sith Training *Thppbbt!*
54 - Chewbacca - Clud City Escape *Thppbbt!*
55 - Kit Fisto - Clone Wars I've actually wanted the CW one, so I'll be getting this instead.
56 - Holographic Commander Cody PASS

61 - Super Battle Droid These and the 2 BD look cool, but I'm trying to scale back my collecting to just stuff I really appreciate on its own, and not just neat stuff that fills out a scene. Seperatist army stuff is the first to go.
62 - Battle Droid 2pack
63 - Holographic Obi-Wan Kenobi "Hologram" figures stink.

73 - Aurra Sing - EU PASS

73 - Aurra Sing - cool repaint with a new head, gee thanks Hasblow!
74 - Maces R2 unit cool repaint
-
OK my turn to play the game...
Saga-053 Darth Maul (Sith Training)... This POS is the easiest pass on the entire list I think. He was a nice statue in 2002 to sit and collect dust on the shelf but in 2006 he's no better nor worse, and since I got him for $2.99 I believe, I'll gladly pass. IIRC he's pretty easily found at the local Toy Show for about $2. Yeah, bigtime pass.
Saga-054 Chewbacca (Cloud City)... If it were the Early Bird Chewbacca, I'd be buying 2 anyway. If it's the now outdated Chewie, it's an easy pass.
Saga-055 Kit Fisto... I got one already so I'm not sure. Part of me thinks I may want a 2nd one to use for customs but at $7 I'll likely pass on this one.
Saga-056 Holographic Commander Cody... I'll pick him up. By shots, he almost appeared as though he had new legs and a neutral stance, so if that's the case it's appreciated. It looks like that anyway to me... I like holo figures at times, but I hate when Hasbro goes nuts with them like last year. They ultimately feel like you're paying a whole lot for a whole little, if that makes any sense. I liked the CC shots of this one, but I'm really hoping those legs are nice and neutral and that's it.
Saga-057 Clone Trooper (442nd Siege Battalion)... I like this figure myself. I'm ok with the "Production" repaints of the Clones since it's kind of a concept type deal but they're incorporating it into the line and trying to makei t part of the story... It may not be from the films but I enjoy stuff that could've been at other fronts or whatnot like this, and since they did pull from the early Clone Concepts I dig it a little more.
Saga-058 R5-A1 Imperial Astromech Droid... Love it. I hope they do more R5 repaints, namely the single R5 I want more than any other is Red Leader's which is a royal bitch to paint by hand. Please make that droid and the Pilot too.
Saga-059 Clone Trooper (5th Fleet Security)... See the above Clone Comments. I'll army build him if they're available.
Saga-060 Clone Trooper Sergeant... I could use more since there should be more Sarges than Commanders, Captains, and Lieutenant's. I will pick up a number of these then, though I won't be going ape**** army building this figure like I would've a plain white CW Clone had they given us that.
Saga-061 Super Battle Droid... I'm kind of ok with this figure. I'm curious more about the plastic being used than the figure itself and I dig the camo repaint. I could stand to see all green repaints as BD's appeared in green some comic art.
Saga-062 Battle Droid 2-Pack... Same as above, I'm more concerned with the plastic quality as to whether I pick these up or not more than their deco... :-\ If they're a good plastic though I'm in for army building this set.
Saga-063 Holographic Obi-Wan Kenobi... Like I said, too many holographic figures starts to annoy me. You feel like you're getting a lot less toy for the money for some reason. I also feel two holo's in a row is really annoying... I'd have preferred both Holo figures were a Mustafar repaint of Pilot Obi and Evolutions Anakin. Better toys to me than holographic figures.
Saga-064 Commander Appo... I'll be army building galore. :) I'm happy with the #6 sculpt 501st we got in the battlepack but this figure is fantastic.
Saga-065 BARC Trooper... A figure of much debate. I'm going to be picking him up because I actually don't mind it much despite sculpt inaccuracies. It's better to me than the Gree figure last year that faced a similar situation (very inaccurate), but that's just my opinion. I'll hope for a better SA Kashyyyk Trooper at some point though.
Saga-066 Yareal Poof... I'd have to see what he actually comes with and how much of an improvement, but I've got like 3 of him already so this is a likely pass at this point.
Saga-067 Darth Vader’s Astromech Droid... I love astromech repaints and I love the Jedi Fighter repaint for Vader too, so I'm all into this figure right now.
Saga-068 Padme Amidala... I've had this custom on my desk for a while so if Hasbro's going to do it for me then so be it. :) I'll pick her up. It'd be cool if they gave her a nice softgoods cloak but oh well.
Saga-069 Clone Trooper Engineer... Same as other Clone repaints above. I'll buy it.
Saga-070 Kitik Keedkak... Depending on the paint quality, I may be picking her up because the 3-pack figure wasn't too accurate I believe.
Saga-071 Nabrun Leeds and Kabe... Paint again will be a big deciding factor for me as to whether I buy these or not... I recall in 2004 vowing I wouldn't buy the Sandperson or Jawas... I caved and bought them because of just a great paintjob.
What'll bug me is that Nabrun's outfit is so distinct, I kind of like displaying the repaints together as just buddies from the same species. I'm not sure I'll want Nabrun because of that.
Saga-072 Labria... The paintjob looked pretty sharp on this one, I may cave on him too.
Saga-073 Aurra Sing... The figure's a must-buy because of the differences.
Saga-074 Mace Windu’s Astromech Droid... Like the other astro repaints I love this figure without even seeing it. Count me in.
And let me say that I agree that the fact Hasbro has an entire wave devoted to Wal-Mart is a huge faux pau on their part... Even if the company pushes them through distribution well, I think it's sad that they did this... Wal-Mart's support for the line is questionable to me, as is their distribution, but they do what they feel they have to I guess.
This just has disaster written all over it... I mean, while I found the twins sets and all the figs they were packed in with, I read a whole lot of people did not find these easily and it seems like our area was just the exception and not the rule.
My bigger fear though, is that this happens more routinely in the line. Not cool.
-
I'm genuinely surprised to see the lack of enthusiasm for the clone re-paints. I guess there is such a thing as too much. :P

This is a great point Jesse. I hope this isn't where things are headed. I was able to find the twins sets as well, but just because I happened to be there in the morning picking up groceries/etc. anyways. They disappeared within a day (or maybe two) and weren't ever seen again around here. Hopefully these won't be impossible to find, and if I don't have luck I can at least get some of those Cantina aliens in their original incarnations via ebay or something. I just hope we don't continue to see "exclusive waves" of figures. Having a repainted or holo figure at TRU or Target is one thing, but when its part of the basic line, it becomes much more of a headache. Plus, at least around here, Wal-Mart probably supports the Star Wars line the least - particularly the basic figures. Aside from a glut of VTSC figures, and a handful of basic figures, there is nothing else relating to this line. Just Transformers and Choppers, and a few Force Battlers. To be honest, Target and TRU Star Wars sections are double to triple the size of Wal-Mart's. I sometimes get the feeling that Wal-mart doesn't really want to carry the line, but its popularity and sell through (for the most part) keeps it there. WM seems more interested in the "movie of the month" lines, and lots of Hot Wheels/Matchbox automobile stuff - or maybe that's just here. I don't know if they'll ever get rid of all the Superman Returns stuff they have sitting there now - yikes.
-
I'm going to steal Jack's list with some Editing. Thanks! ;)

58 - R5-A1 - Imperial Astromech Droid - Sweet! Never got the POTJ imperial droid, so i'll take this. $27 at a Train Show...tsch..
59 - Clonerooper 5th Fleet Security *see 442nd Siege Battalion*

From what I'm reading, it looks like there's gonna be alot of 442s out there...more for me, I guess!
-
I'm genuinely surprised to see the lack of enthusiasm for the clone re-paints. I guess there is such a thing as too much. :P
Part of me is too, but part of me isn't as well Anton...
I guess though when the Shadowtrooper, which by all intents and purposes was probably one of the shorter production run Clones in the modern line, actually sat and pegwarmed many places and even saw clearance... Well, I guess the non-film Clones don't have the legs if you push them too hard too fast, and that could be a problem with these ones.
For me, I like them but I'm a big fan of how ROTS was presented and I liked the Clone flavors and I like things not necessarilly in the films but which are believable off screen. I thought some of the paintjobs on these looked outstanding, plus they're pre-production work too technically.
For me I dig them but I really think it's the kind of figure(s) that polorizes collectors. I think you'll find those that love it, and those that hate it, with not a whole huge grey area. Whether those groups buy or not is a whole other question of course. I think though that if it's not in the movie your odds will increase of finding it in quantity so long as it's not distributed like crap... If it is, then anything can happen and even the biggest douche of a figure can be a pain to find... Swimming Jar Jar and Sio Bibble anyone? :)
-
From what I'm reading, it looks like there's gonna be alot of 442s out there...more for me, I guess!
Personally, I've liked that one ever since I got the EPISODE III Visual Dictionary. It's featured prominently in that book even if it never made the screen. Also, I never saw the previously released version of this Clone sitting for long (from the ROTS Deluxe line - Clone Trooper 3-packs).
-
Well these repaints are no worse than the Green Commander and Black clonepilot variants. Or those SWShop.com and Target exclusive clonetroopers. I don't have a problem with the repaints at all. Plus they look better, IMO, than the purple set with Mace coming up soon.
-
I like the exclusives at the end the most. I'm glad they're WM exclusives... If it were target it would be 10$ a figure that I would never see on the shelves anyway. Being at WM... I'll see alot of them, I never have a problem finding WM exclusives in my neck o' the woods...errr ah desert that is.
-
(http://www.galactichunter.com/blogger/userfiles/Image/saga4ever/saga4ever.jpg)
I'll take every one, except the two holos, Maul, and Chewie.
What a tasty line up!
Kevin
-
At least they could of given Kit Fisto some more articulation. The articulated ankles just don't cut for me to buy another one.
-
Take away Chewie, Maul, Aurra, and the holos and you got yourself a great line. Can't wait to pick up Nabrun Leeds & Kabe, Labria, & Kitik Keedkak to almost complete my cantina.
-
From what I'm reading, it looks like there's gonna be alot of 442s out there...more for me, I guess!
It's a clone, clones NEVER warm, it's a fact of life. :P
-
having some problem with the base on the clones.
#57 & 59 are the SA ROTS #41 VERSION
#60 looks like it could be the same just without the antenae or it could be the CW version
#64 looks like it could be SA or the CW version by looking at the belt, but the arms almost almost look like the swivel gunner arms.
#69, while my favorite number ;D, I'm totally stumped on.
-
I think...
- #57 & #59 - yeah definitely the ROTS #41 Clone (based on the Antenna)
- #60 is the Clone Wars Version (like from the EE Multi-Packs)
- #64 is based off the ROTS #33 Commander Sculpt
- #69 is based off the ROTS #38 AT-TE Sculpt (based on those arms and the lack of antenna)
At least that's what I remember someone saying from SDCC.
-
Now that there's a picture up, I think I can finally say what's of interest to me:
56 - Holographic Commander Cody
57 - Clonetrooper 442nd Siege Battalion
58 - R5-A1
59 - Clonerooper 5th Fleet Security
60 - Clonetrooper Sergeant
63 - Holographic Obi-Wan Kenobi
64 - Clone Commander Appo
65 - Kashyyk Scout Trooper
67 - Darth Vader's R2 Droid- I need more Astromechs, bring it on.
68 - Arena Padme
69 - Clonetrooper (yellow markings) 74 - Maces R2 unit
I might be convinced on a few more down the road depending on whether they are improvements on the older versions. Padme needs a new head for me to buy. Presumably Kit Fisto is just a re-release of the CW non-animated version, so I don't need another.
-
If Hasbro changes the head I'll buy it, if not there's no way in hell I'll buy that peanut head.
-
Was the #69 Clone's paint scheme in any of the conceptual art not printed in the books (as in the "line-up" from the issue of the Insider that revealed the new Clone designs before ROTS was released, or even the Visual Dictionary)? I've looked through the Art of ROTS and the Prequel Chronicles books and can't find the design anywhere.
So yeah, is this LFL conceptual work or Hasbro conceptual work?
-
A case that includes some of the figures are up at EE, I may pre-order it even though it includes Kit,Mual & Chewie. :-\

The paintscheme on that Clone seems to most closely resemble the Clone Troopers that were in the WalMart exclusive DVD 3-pack. But I haven't seen any literature or reference book with that design. The best source to check might be The Star Wars Chronicles - The Prequels, but it's not widely available as the book sells for around $100. But even then I doubt that we might see that design in anything approaching a cgi character rendering.
The one figure that REALLY puzzles me in this lineup? Holo Obi-Wan Kenobi. I honestly cannot remember seeing Obi-Wan as a hologram in Revenge Of The Sith. A holographic Anakin would have been a much better choice for a holo figure, especially in light of the scene where Obi-Wan watches the security recordings of Anakin attacking the Jedi Temple.

Yeah, like I said, I checked that book, and no sign. If this guy is an AT-TE Tank Gunner body with an EU paint scheme, that's really going to save me a few bucks.
-
Wow, I just caught that poster that Famine posted. Very cool.
Is it me, or does it look like that the 501st commander could be converted into a normal trooper?
-
The 501st Commander looks more like Commander Bow who took Appo's place after he was killed on Kashyyyk.

#53-62 are up for pre-order at EntertainmentEarth (http://www.entertainmentearth.com/aff-home.asp?id=JE-405087801&number=HS85770H).
1x Darth Maul (Sith Training, Saga #53)
1x Chewbacca (Cloud City Escape, Saga #54)
1x Kit Fisto (Clone Wars, Saga #55)
1x Clone Commander Cody (Holograph, Saga #56)
2x Clone Trooper (442nd Siege Battalion, ROTS green markings, Saga #57)
1x R5-A1 (Imperial Astromech, Saga #58)
2x Clone Trooper (Fifth Fleet Security, ROTS blue striped, Saga #59)
1x Clone Trooper (Sergeant, AOTC green, Saga #60)
1x Super Battle Droid (Kashyyyk, Saga #61)
1x Battle Droid 2-Pack (Kashyyyk, Saga #62)
I have to admit that's a pretty nice case assortment - 1x everything and an extra of each ROTS Clone.
I'm really glad to see that they weren't dumb enough to pack Maul or Chewie at 2x per case. :P
-
I definitely want at least one of the AOTC clone sergeant. Probably also Cody, and mayyyyybe the two "made-up" clone troopers.
I already have Maul, Chewie, and Kit. I don't really care about the Imperial R5, although it is a cool figure. And the camo droids are just stupid.
-
The 7th Sky Corps were part of the 212th. Hasbro didn't make up the green ROTS clone. EU did. :P
-
Just for the record, that is one kick ass assortment to order online. I'll never find those clones on the pegs so this one is a no brainer to me.
I just wish the last four figures of TSC weren't WM exclusive....that purple droid is going to be murder to track down at Wallyworld.
:'(

Hasbro has a nice update (http://www.hasbro.com/starwars/default.cfm?page=news&newsid=69DE43A1-D56F-E112-450BB251AB4FA030) today that features 17 of the last 22...
Not much new but nice to get some "official" names for them.
-
(http://www.hasbro.com/common/images/news/starwars/87348.jpg)
Anyone else notice that this figure is now pictured as a repaint of the Evolution version as opposed to the Tank Gunner show at SDCC? I wonder what the final version will look like.
-
The only figures I want from the final 22 are R5-J2 (Imperial Astromech), Clone Trooper Sergeant, and R4-K5 (Imperial Astromech). I was thinking about the camo droids, but I don't like them anymore.
-
I'll pick up the new figures but pass on the re-issues.
-
[sarcasm] Nice ratio of OT to PT figures, Hasbro [/sarcasm]
-
2 OT characters, 3 if you want to count Vader's astro.
-
3 if you want to count Vader's astro.
You mean the one that was never shown, nor mentioned in the OT? ::)
I count 5 OT figures BTW...
Saga-054 Chewbacca (Cloud City)
Saga-058 R5-A1 Imperial Astromech Droid
Saga-070 Kitik Keedkak
Saga-071 Nabrun Leeds and Kabe
Saga-072 Labria

I dunno. The more I look at this picture, the more it looks like the tank gunner body.
-
Yeah, but the sculpting on the left arm is what's confusing. The TE Gunner doesn't have that, but Clone Commanders do.

Saga-072 Labria
I meant excluding the WM guys.

I'm pretty sure that new one is the Evo body, at least that prototype is. The red flag for me is that armband he has, the Evo clones has got it on the same arm there, and the Tank gunner's is bare. The stance on this new one is fairly narrow, also suggesting that it is the Evo body. The shoulders are different too, you can tell they are ball jointed. The belt on the new one appears to be a seperate piece, not sculpted onto the torso like the Tank Gunner's. One last thing, the helmet looks sturdier and a little wider at the base, much like the Evo helmet. After looking at it again I'm now 100% sure it is the Evolution body. I guess we will se whether or not the final product uses it.
-
Alright, I'll take that back, definitely not the Gunner body. It does look like the EVO once you study the details.
-
I wonder if this guy will come with any technician stuff? He's not really a technician without some stuff.
-
To answer my own question from earlier in the thread (as to whether or not the Clone Technician is a Hasbro creation or based on conceptual art), the "Making of ROTS" book has a lineup of several Clone Trooper legion designation variations, and sure enough, the Clone Technician is at the far right of the lineup on page 169.
What's also interesting to note is that, of that lineup, Hasbro has seemingly decided to do the final three on the right (Green, Blue Stripe, and Gold) in the final 22. The only other in the lineup that hasn't been made (I don't count those horrid deluxe 3 packs) is the Burgundy Dot Clone Trooper. The other two in the lineup are the 501st Clone and the Saleucami Clone (the Target Exclusive Clone from last summer). I think that, after this at least, the Clone barrel has been scraped as far as it can go.
Which in my mind means that we should/hopefully will get a Commander Neyo, Commander Faie, an SA Commander Bacara, and a corrected Commander Gree in the next few years, should they need new Clones. :)
-
Don't forget pink clones, ooh & poka dot! ::)
-
Does Cody have ankles? If that's the final product, I'm picking up 2. One for a holo & 1 for a regular Cody. That would be Hasbro to place the good version on the holo. ::)
-
Does Cody have knees?
I thought the Coruscant Wave Cody did have knees.
-
I fixed it..... yes, I'm a retard.......
-
Does Cody have knees?
I thought the Coruscant Wave Cody did have knees.
Of course he has knees. What kind of weird ass figure it would be w/o knees ??? ;D

1x R4-K5 (Saga #67)
1x Padme Amidala (Saga #68)
2x Combat Engineer Clone Trooper (Saga #69)
Another good case assortment with the only duplicates and left -overs from Wave 8 being extra Clones/Droids!
-
Not sure if people have seen these but there are a few carded pics here http://www.sirstevesguide.com/index.php?categoryid=13&p2_articleid=317 of the final 22. Sorry if it's old news.
-
Not old news at all. I have come to really love these cards (Saga 2 in general,) they make any figure look good.
-
Fix Padme's head!!!1!!!1!! >:( >:( :'(

Fix Padme's head!!!1!!!1!! >:( >:( :'(
Yeah, I agree with that. That whole figure of her looks strange but especially the head.

Yes, but when I posted the link, SSG hadn't updates the FULL wave, as it apparently has done now.
-
I don't like how the EU droids & clones have ROTS as a base instead of the EU base.
-
I don't like how the EU droids & clones have ROTS as a base instead of the EU base.
Me too. Some how it cheapens ROTS even more. :P
-
Fix Padme's head!!!1!!!1!! >:( >:( :'(
It looks like quick draw Amidala head with the Factory escape body. The QD head was cocked to the side so for a kit bash I guess that was the cheap way of not producing a whole new head.
Lots of people gripe and complain about repacks and repaints, but most will buy the repaint clones. The only way to tell Hasbro that we are sick of these is to stop buying them.
As for myself I get one of every figure but for the last 22 I'm going to have to wait and see them in the store. I only bought 1 At-Te Gunner repack to keep carded beacuse the background shot was neat. So they will have to have some kick ass pictures to get me to buy even half of the 22.
-
For how little Hasbro product I am buying lately, I am excited about some of these clones and droids. Appo and the special ops troopers rock, I just hope we can find these at retail too.
-
Thanks to this week's QnA with Hasbro (http://www.jedidefender.com/newspro/fullnews.cgi?newsid1158676228,25932,), we have some details to confirm on a few of these clones...
- Saga-064 Commander Appo is indeed the super-articluated Clone body and the pauldron is from the Evolution pack (and fully removable).
- Saga-069 Combat Engineer Clone is indeed the Evolution ROTS Clone sculpt and he will have a removable helmet.
-

Ahhh, but which SA body? #41 or CW?
-
I think the Combat engineer just went up a notch to me, but either way I'm actually kind of happy about these random figures... The removable helmet is just gravy though.
Appo's going to be a BITCH to find though... :( As it stands, 501st'ers haven't been abundant, and this one's going to be outstanding irregardless of which SA sculpt used... I'm already in a bummed mood thinking of how hard to find he'll be.
-
Don't worry
-
Check WG! That's where I found the GB. :P

I"ve seen quite a few 501s on the pegs... Need to come out this way, Jesse.

Same here, and passed on all of 'em.
-
I picked mine up mainly do to my damn army-building habit.
-
I've actually seen at least 20 501 on the pegs in GB ::)
People won't buy them now that Appo is coming..I mean why waste your moolah on the 501 anyway when you can get a SAC one soon?
-
You guys are lucky... Around here the Epic Battles wave sits, but the Clones went out the door at light speed it seemed. I did see a shock and couple 501st one time, but just once... Didn't pick them up at the time and don't regret that necessarilly, but the Clones are gone around here and we're swimming in 3PO's, Padme's and the like.
The figures you don't see are the Royal Guards, the Clones (any kind), and the Wookiee seems to be a so-so steady seller, though he's findable. The stinkers in this wave are sure as hell stagnant sellers though. 3PO and Padme are clogging the toilet (IE: Wal-Mart) big time aorund here.
-
The battle wave is everywhere here in Minnesota as well. You can find clones if you are persistent, but there are 5 Padmes for every clone you find. The shocktrooper sure sits at Target, and it should. 2 months ago we were getting 2 of them, an emperor, yoda, and senate pod for less than $10.
I did get one of each clone from this wave and the greatest hits wave. They are great cardbacks. I don't keep too much on the card these days, but these made the cut.
-
Hopefully all of last years stuff will be gone by the time this years re-paints start hitting the shelves. That way there's more room to stock.
-
The pegs will be clear if so. ::)
-

Well, I guess Target agrees with you... To help clear out the aisle, the Greatest Hits assortments will be on sale next week for $6 (includes both the Heroes & Villains and Greatest Battles figures).
That should help to clear out the aisle a little bit I would think...
-
Every day I walk into Target or Wal-Mart or TRU, I am continually amazed at the amount of GB/H&V ROTS figures as opposed to the regular basic line. At times it looks like last fall, what with the gobs of ROTS pegwarmers, only they're in a new and nicer packaging. Gobs of Vaders, R2-D2s, Palpatines, Padmes, Threepios, etc, with actual basic figures (OT and PT alike) limited to a few dusty Geonosians, Vader re-cards, Hem Dazons, Garindans, and the non-DSG figures from the Endor wave.
I don't have a lot of faith in being able to easily find the last group of figures before Wal-Mart's exclusive wave. With Appo being 1 per case in the one assortment I saw, I am afraid he'll be a nightmare, especially since he's essentially that SA 501st we saw in SDCC in 2005. And am I alone in thinking that the final 5 WM exclusive figures might not even get released? Given WM's overall glut of figures right now that does not seem to be abating, unless they're under a different UPC code altogether, it wouldn't surprise me if they told Hasbro, "No thanks, we changed our mind" the way they did with wave 2 of the Cantina sets in 2002.
-
The situation is very similar here, just gobs of the H&V/Greatest Battles figures - at all the retailers. Wal-Mart in particular has just tons of these, with a few Jerjerrods and Dofines thrown in as well. I don't think that Target has anything but the Greatest Battles figures, aside from a few Dofines or Hoth Vaders. I hope these are done shipping, because I'd like to see these figures get cleared out and make room for the Endor/Naboo wave, as well as the "Final 22". I'm getting a little nervous about finding some of those.
-
All clones are nightmares to find here! I may have too ask for these for X-mas. Pretty sad. :(
-
greatest battles was a terrible idea i see it as the new sote retail disaster-i really do! very sad and pitiful for our modern line i would think hasbro wouldve learned from kenner's big mistake but nooo... >:(and to think we are in for more greatst hits waves next year...ouch.
-
greatest battles was a terrible idea
To you maybe, but to Hasbro, they're laughing all the way to the bank. ;)
-
Don't you mean crieing? They're warmers! The GHs next year will be fan cosen so maybe Hasbro can laugh. :P
-
wow...just seconds ago I opened up an early b-day present-it was a GB R4-G9...very ironic.
if the SA clone from '03 doesn't win for greatest hits next year, there's a 99% chance i'm quitting for good.
-
It's collector's choice, alot of collector's like to AB. We haven't seen this figure on the pegs since '03. It's a good chance that will make the cases.
-
Don't you mean crieing? They're warmers!
It's irrelevant that they're warming since they've already been sold to the retailers. Hasbro also saved cash by not having to to create any new molds or paint schemes. Hasbro made made tons of money off of greatest hits. If anyone is going to loose money, it's the retailers.
-

While I agree with you in the short-term effects of this, DA, I think that Hasbro may end up being bitten by the GB/H&V figures in the end scheme of things. With 90% of the pegs being occupied by those figures in most major retail outlets (I seriously counted at a Target in a nearby town yesterday and out of 40 figures on the pegs, 39 of them were GB/H&V; the other figure was a lone Utapau Clone Trooper, also from ROTS), the later waves of the actual basic figures for this year will be ordered and shipped in less amounts, and there will probably be an ocean of Threepios and Padmes on clearance aisles come January (or whenever the SKUs are discontinued for the 2006 figure lines).
My point with this, fatalistic though it may be, is that retailers look at the mountains of unsold SW figures, regardless of who they are, what assortment they are part of, or anything other than the fact that they are SW figures, and think "These aren't selling." They devote less peg and shelf space to them in the next reset planograms, and when there is less space, there is less ordering, which causes Hasbro make less money. If basic figures, which, all things being equal, are the heart and soul of the SW line start to be ordered in smaller numbers, then Hasbro is going to produce less and less to the point where, 2018 or not, the line is going to die.
So, while Hasbro is undoubtedly laughing all the way to the bank about the H&V/GB assortments right now despite their pegwarming status that would make the Rancor Keeper and Sabe proud, the massive glut of those assortments at retail could end up hurting Hasbro (and us) in the long run.

Good point.
Isn't it about time for the first wave of these guys to start showing up?

442nd
fifth fleet
kitik
holo cody

I'm disappointed that NFC hasn't put these up. The case assortment for the first wave is perfect for buying two cases.

The new carded image of the Engineer clone looks to be the SA body now.
Woo! 1,000th post! :D

Galactic Hunter (http://www.galactichunter.com/absolutenm/templates/full_article_template_1.asp?articleid=5994&zoneid=2) has some shots up (carded and loose) of the upcoming Padme Amidala, Holo Obi-Wan, and Yareal Poof from the "Final 22" figures. It looks like, at least in those shots, that Poof has the concept Stormtrooper's lightsaber - or am I mistaken?
-
It definitely looks that way. If you look at the original 'poster' of the final 22 (I think it's back on page 4), the lightsaber is definitely different than what they originally had shown us. It seems to fit his had better this way, but I just hope this isn't a sign of things to come in '07. I'm not a big fan of the wider blade near the hilt.
-
I gotta say, Padme looks pretty good for a re-hash/re-tool. Is this a new head sculpt?
-
no, its the '02 02 shirt-ripped wide-leg stance lousy quick draw attack padme head. yes, this padme does look pretty good. but when was obi wan a hologram in ROTS? please refresh my memory...
-
It's definitely a little weird to see Yarael Poof with that lightsaber. But I guess that was one of the few hilts that worked with the way the hand is sculpted.
The Padme looks cool, definitely. I thought that the Droid Factory Chase version of this figure was one of the better offerings of the original Saga line. I'd actually like to see it with a chain accessory, but that's just a picking point.
As for the Obi-Wan hologram, it's still a head-scratcher to me. I can only recall Obi-Wan as a hologram from a distance, as Yoda is meeting with the Jedi Council from Kashyyyk. It seems that Hasbro was at a loss, too, because the background on the cardback is from the Jedi Temple briefing room where Anakin meets with Obi-Wan. Anyway, I think it would have made much more sense to do a holographic Anakin Skywalker (possibly the ROTS #28 figure) and call it Darth Vader - Jedi Temple Attack hologram or somesuch thing.
-

Ohhh! Thanks, but I still see no point in purchasing this fig, I bet it will be the pegwarmer of the Final 22.
-
Well at least the Padme looks better now. The initial pics did not make it look good. I still don't want it but it's better than I thought it would be.
Poof...he might do okay. Funky alien with a lightsaber you know.
Kenobi - I actually like how it looks but will probably be satisfied with my pilot version.
More and more I will probably just get some of the Kashyyyk troopers and that imperial R5 droid.

All holo figs peg warm (maybe Plo-koon did not). I bet you can still see Mundi and of course Maul.

Is that a SA holo Obi-Wan? :P
-

it certainly is. knowing the big H, i'm surprised it's not 'jedi kick' obi.

There's picture conformation that these have turned up in the mid-west at WM. Sadly, the same day these hit there, my WM's all got tons of old cases. >:(

I haven't even found the Naboo wave yet! Damn Hasbro and there lightning fast releases of waves.
-
Same here. I might as well not look for these & let my family look for me. ;D
-
i sit here, unworried, for my moc completist days are over. for i am finishing off wave 7 (four to go!) and then buying appo, kasyyyk trooper, 442nd, and the wal mart exclusives, and my collecting year is over. sweet bliss.

Just about dashed my hopes for anything new in my area yesterday. I was at the local Wally World and the pegs were over flowing with GB / H&V to the extent of stacks of figures laying on the top pegs. Frustrated, I wandered off and saw a large pull cart taking overstock to the back. On it I saw the familiar shape and size of Hasbro on it and rushed to see if possibly there were Naboo and later releases on it. I almost had to pick my jaw off the ground when I noticed no less that 30 CASES of H&V on the cart headed to the back. Hasbro made a serious buck off my WalMart. Maybe in 2008 I can start looking for the Naboo wave in my area. >:(
Oh, and the last 22? Yeah, right...somewhere...over the rainbow...

i feel your pain. yesterday at target, there were:
25 GB Padmes
10 GB 3PO's
2 GB Wookiees
3 TSC 3PO's
and a TSC Chewbacca from Wave 1 that was in beaten up condition and even still had the blue holo figure
-
they are just starting to hit my area.I've snagged most of them but the dark endor trooper. He's the only one I need

uhh...endor trooper isnt part of the final 22 ;)
:P
-
Yeah the Black guy from the Endor Wave is just part of the Endor2/Naboo Wave that's been shipping for a bit. Check TRU if you're in need of those Deanna, they've been hitting there frequently.
And some food for thought guys...
If you've got overflowing pegs at WM, take the K-Mart of Kay-Bee Toy ads with you for Black Friday and try to clear up some stuff if you're into having multiples of some army builders and whatnot. Their Buy One Get One deals may pay off for you at Wal-Mart. Sometimes they deny you but sometimes not. It's worth a try if you're going to be out anyway I figure.

Yes...he looks horrible. >:(
I was planning on army-building that guy. Now I'm not buying a single one of them.

yeah, i'll pass on that kashyyyk trooper. now, i may have very bad eyesight, but i dont think thats the case cause im a 20-10. i can swear that looking carefully, i can see the jango chin under the helmet. removable? im not sure. just a curiosity.

If you're referring to the Appo figure, then yes, I see it too.
-
sorry, i made that very unclear. yes, i am referring to the appo fig. it concerns me that this may mean we are just getting the ROTS #65 fig but it excites me at the same time that this could also just be the SA fig we wanted, just a removable helmet rehash.
-
I thinks it's all but confimed that the Appo is on the #41 body. :)
-
goody goody gumdrops! im happy now! i hope this means its a rehash w/removable helmet, but if not, i will certainly live.
-
Please, please, please retailers liquidate your H&V, GB figs to make room for stores to auto order these...I don't want to miss out!

I saw some of these today at a local comic / DVD / CD store. They had the blue ROTS clonetrooper, the green AOTC clone, the green ROTS clonetrooper, the black imperial R5, holo Cody, the camo SBD and the repacks of Maul, Chewie and Kit. I was going to grab the R5 droid, but they wanted $11.99 for it. Granted this wasn't a big box store like Walmart, Target or TRU, but they should be hitting shortly for those who want them.

wow! great score! i guess the final 22 being released is confirmed. cant wait to find the holo cody and green ROTS and AOTC troopers. i hope the R5 droid doesnt become a rarity, i would like that fig, too.
-
I saw a report on Yakface this morning that part of the "Final 22" was found at a Target in Michigan. So, maybe they are starting to make their way out to retail. Our pegs here locally are fairly fully of Greatest Battles and some of the other previous waves. It seems like everyone stocked up prior to Christmas shopping season and quite a bit of it is still sitting.

Did you actually read the post you quoted? :P
-
Yeah, no ****. Even if I did still collect these, there's no way in hell I'm paying $12 for them. The only one I wanted was the R5, but not at that cost.
-
ok, so it wasnt a score, i shouldve said 'good find'. sue me. :P
-
i only want to buy darth maul and yarael poof.
i think i can't buy aurra sing, maybe it won't appear here in germany.
-
I can't wait to see these hit. I'm tired of see all the two Greatest Misses waves pegwarming. Yeah, the Naboo/Endor wave is here, but nothing to get excited about.
-
its been noticed at that otheR Site that there are some errors in the recent wave. Hasblo got Kit Fisto and green AOTC clone stands wrong by printing 'The Empire Strikes Back' logo on them, similar to what they did with the #38 Bespin Vader. ::)
They also pointed out that the 2-pack of BD's is based on the less articulated but sturdier deluxe headswitch body. I'm happy with this and unhappy at the same time. Cons: A lot less articulation and inability to hold blaster with two hands Pros: Sturdier plastic used. :-\
-
The local Target apparently got a single case of these in, although there were several figures that had already been bought or "held in the back" by someone when I got there when the store opened today. I was able to get three of the four I wanted (442nd Clone, 5th Fleet Clone, and R5-J2), and left another 5th Fleet Clone, Chewbacca, Coconut Swirl SBD, and Fisto on the pegs. No sign of Poof, Maul, Holo Cody, AOTC Clone Sgt., or the Battle Droids.
The really refreshing thing was that the GB/H&V assortments were WAY less than they were the last time I was in there. Of course, now those four pegs are filled to capacity with Padmes, Threepios, and Palpatines (with one or two Wookiee Warriors), but it was nice to not see an ocean of GB staring back at me on all 12 pegs for a change.
-
i saw several wave 8 figures at a toy show in SJ, CA today. i like the kit fisto's 'often seen with: aayla secura' thingy on the back of the card, its good to know hasbro's paying some attention to the comics. 8)

The first wave of the final 22 started hitting pegs around me this weekend... just in time for the toy show too. I don't recall off-hand a single dealer with them though, that's good. :) Though a local buddy of mine brought what he picked up before the show! So I left the show Saturday with a Clone Sergeant and a 5th Fleet Security figure... Could've nabbed the SBD repaint but I had to watch my dough.
The battledroids look good to me... I know, I know, it's not all your cup of tea to get repaints, but a tigerstripe repaint of battledroids makes sense to me so I'm ok with it... I won't go ape**** army building them, but I'll nab a little camo squad of them, sure.... So long as the plastic's at least half assed anyway.
The clones are fantastic... again the paintjobs may be deterring some from purchases but for me the clone repaints rock, and the Sergeant was a happy addition since I could use more of the E2 styled Clones, especially white ones... Sergeants next though so I like having the chance to pick him up again in some bulk.
Hell it'd just be nice to have more sergeants than Commanders at this point... Anyone else find that a bit annoying when you've got more Yellow Clones than the grunts and non-coms? Maybe I'm just too anal about this. :)
Anyway, what I've got so far is good... I'm quite happy and the Security one's paint is really crisp and has rockin' battle damage. Maybe some of the best on any Clone really. It just seems cooler.
-
hmm...i just may consider getting a couple fifth fleets in that case.
-
After picking up the entire set, I have to say that some of the figures look sharper in person. For example, Kit looks just as good as his CW version. I thought that by the pictures that his paint application was slightly different. Also, for some reason, the Battle Droids don't look as annoying.

It's funny though, I say that and then I opened them. I don't think the sculpt used was the best available. I would have prefered the Saga/ROTS sculpt.

I purchased the Fifth Fleet Security Clone, 442nd Siege Battalion Clone, Holographic Commander Cody, Clone Sergeant, and R5-J2 at Walmart this morning.
-
i am still yet to track any of these down at retail. i want clone sargent and R5 the most at this point. and 442nd siege clone.
-
Just got the e-mail notice that my Wave 8 case (#53 - #62) shipped from EE today.
Merry Christmas to me! ;D
-
After having a chance to play with the new clone repaint's, I have to say how much of a sucker I am. I kind of like them, but I think it has to do with the fact that they're on the #41 bodies. Anything else and I'd probably having a hissy fit.
-
Anyone know the case breakdown? I saw a ton of these while out of town today but there were no Super or regular Battle Droids. Picked up a couple of the Security Clones and spotted another half dozen. Saw no other Clones but a few Kits and Chewies.

This is how the case I scored yesterday broke down:
1 x Darth Maul
1 x Chewbacca
1 x Kit Fisto
1 x Holo Commander Cody
1 x Imperial R5
1 x Clone Trooper Sergeant (AOTC)
1 x Camo Super Battle Droid
1 x Battle Droid 2-pack
2 x 442nd Siege Battalion Clone Troopers
2 x 5th Fleet Security Clone Troopers
Mind you there was one piece missing from the case, and it appears to have been the Clone Trooper Sergeant.
-
I concur, the 6 or 7 cases I got into had the same breakdown, Jim.

Typically, when I bust open new figures, I leave them sit out so I can pick 'em up, play with them, study them, digest them before putting the in a display. The more I look at the Battle Droids, the more annoyed I get at them. I 'm totally at a loss as to why that sculpt was used and am convinced that it was the wrong choice.

its a nice sculpt. its good for ponting the gun with one hand, which many battled droids do. it also is a sturdier plastic. i cant wait to picks up some of these!

???
I don't think so.
-
does anyone know when these waves will be avalible?
-
Wave 7 is out now.
-
i cant seem to find it anywhere yet for some reason :'(
-
The Battle Droids in wave 8 are definitely an example of Hasbro making trade-offs. They're made from a decent grade of plastic, so they seem to stand by well for now. Only time is going to tell on that.
But these figures seriously lack articulation. No head joint to speak of. The elbows are locked in place. The EPISODE I Battle Droid was much better articulated than these Kashyyyk Battle Droids.
As for the sculpt, meh. I really prefer the POTJ Security Battle Droid sculpt to this, but this is what we got.
-
i cant seem to find it anywhere yet for some reason :'(
They just came out, give it time. ;)
-
I went to KB yesterday and they put out about 10 cases of Star Wars, all wave 6 and 7. It would have been nice if they were wave 8. :-\
-
I found a buttload of these again today. Strangely neither of the Battledroids were present again ??? I counted about 8-10 of each clone which I thought was odd.
-
while its a bummer no BDs are being found, the supply of clones seems to be good. ill have to go to stores and check this out.
-
Well the Battle Droids are sub par at best.
-
These are finally startig to hit ;D
-
On a morning visit to Target (where I finally found Grimlock, woot!), I was rather shocked to find that the SW basic figure pegs have been taken out by 2/3rd of their original space (from 12 pegs to 4), now "fully stocked" with the same Hem Dazons and Padmes that have been scattered thin across the pegs for the past months. The SW Transformers now have 8 pegs all to themselves alongside, and some "Ben 10" toy line seems to have bled over into everyone else's shelf space, occupying at least a full third of the aisle itself.
Only Target would solve empty pegs for a currently shipping UPC at Christmas by removing 2/3 of the space set aside instead of, you know, actually keeping the pegs stocked. ::)
Unless there's a sudden run on Jerjerrods and Threepios at Wal-Mart, I'm going to be really nervous about finding the rest of the final 22 that I actually wanted, especially with Holo Cody being one per case in this first assortment and not being listed on any of the other case assortments as yet. :-\
-
You could always preorder some of them at BBTS (except Appo and the Kashyyyk Clone)

-
I posted this in the Target DCPI # thread too, but I think the topic is somewhat pertinent in this thread as well...
I've been somewhat surprised that there has been no discussion of this, but here goes. It appears that the wave 8 figures may have a different DPCI/UPC number at Target as well as at other chains. Because in both instances when I have checked out with wave 8 figures the barcodes have not been scanning at the register at both Target and Toys R Us. Has anyone else experienced this issue?
Additionally, when I scanned a wave 8 Chewbacca at a Target store with the improved scanner (the one that gives aisle location and stock status), that figure did NOT register in the system. So it seems there may be a new UPC barcode and that may also mean a different DPCI for the figures themselves. HOWEVER, to make matters even more confusing, when I bought a case at Target there was a sticker on the case with the DPCI number of 087-06-0576 that is associated with TSC Basic Figures. Very strange.
-
Everything I've heard says that it's the same DPCI at Target for those 17 figures (obviously not the Wal-Mart exclusive ones :P), but the figures were not entered into the system correctly and that is why they do not ring up correctly... of course info is always subject to change, but for now I think it's a computer glitch and not a new DPCI (at least at Target).
-
Well, it's definitely strange that I've seen it happen not only at Target but also at Toys R Us.
-
I bought a whole case from Target. The sticker on the box with all the technical infromation indicates that the DCPI number is the same as the previous figures. Picture of these cases have also been posted over at scum and indicate the same thing.
-
That's what I posted in my initial post. The thing is that the figures aren't scanning that way individually at either Target or TRU.
-
I think it just comes down to someone resposible for getting them in the system being asleep at the wheel. :P
-
well i guess ill just have to try and pick a couple of the Final 22 when i go to Florida in Jan :)
hopefully Disney World will have some. heck atleast ill be able to get the Build your own Lightsaber.=)
-
The SW aisle is full, not with anything new. Good news is GB is gone. Endor 1 is here for a while. ::)
-

i have noticed this too. for me though, carkoon, moff, 3PO, palpy, and power droids are the main warmers.
-
I'm hoping that the reported delay in the first wave of 30AC figures along with the last-minute Christmas shopping will make the Final 22 a bit easier to come by over the next two or three months. The final waves of figures from any particular line have always been hard to come by due to the short window before Hasbro discontinues the SKU, so maybe the delay is a blessing in one sense rather than a curse.
Not that it really matters for Wal-Marts in my area, which are the land of Jerjerrod and Threepio in one store (seriously, those are the ONLY two figures on the pegs, in double-digits for both, although someone did return about 20 Shocktroopers last week to join them) and the land of GB figures in the other. With Target here cutting their peg space by two-thirds, until a reset, they're going to be pretty useless too. The only hope is TRU, and we all know how well they stock things in a timely manner, especially at Christmas. ::)
But yeah, hopefully the longer window until 30AC will make it somewhat easier to find the final 22. Again, hopefully.
-

I would expect so. There's going to need to be something on the shelfs to sell.
-
Not much "Final 22" news around Pittsburgh... A buddy of mine's caught them a couple times up North of the city but beyond that they don't appear to be hitting the other areas/burbs. I'm sort of surprised since it's been a while since a new wave was out en masse... The End-Boo came and went for the most part, but they were (and still are in some cases) available.
At the Toy Show a couple weeks ago now, the dealers didn't even have any final 22 on their tables and they started to show that week around here, but I guess it's just so spotty right now that not much is available.
I'm happy with that myself though same as others... I'm hoping they ship while the 30A line is on hold. That'd be nice, so long as it doesn't mean the 30A become hard to find for a wave or two because of the backup.
-
The troopers & Fett will probally be HTF anyway.
-
I saw my first glimpse of the Final 22 at our local TRU last week. They weren't with the rest of the Star Wars action figures, instead residing on a small display at the beginning of the action figure aisle. They had 1 of each from the first part of them (Wave 8 is it?), and I picked up R5-J2, Kit Fisto (missed him during the first release), and a 442nd Clone. I was tempted to get a couple more, but money is sort of tight right now, and I figured I didn't necessarily need the rest. I'm looking forward to the rest of these (particularly the astromechs, BARC/Elite Corps Troopers and Appo/501st) showing up, and hopefully we'll have a better chance at finding these since the 30AC seems to be delayed.
-
A www.yakface.com forum member has pics up of the elite corps trooper. it looks pretty good, and im more encouraged to pick these up now.
-

Brian-
When I opened several cases of this first part of 'final 22' the cases were labeled as wave 7(at retailer WM). So, I would guess wave 8 would be the second part of the final 22(minus the WM exclusives). However, though, contradicting that statement is EE catalogue that list the final 22 as waves 8 and 9 :P.

Wave 7 is what's on the box for the first part of the final 22. Although i think Hasbro has some explaining to do as to why they labeled wave 3 as wave 2.5 earlier in the year, who's to argue with Hasbro's official designations? (Hmmm, maybe that'll be a good Q&A question.)
-
I had a chance to open the three "final 22" figures I picked up, and only one of them has an incorrect stand - Kit Fisto. He apparently appeared in the Empire Strikes Back :P. I've heard this is fairly common, has anyone else found this with any of their figures? The other two I have (R5-J2, 442nd Siege trooper) seem to be just fine.

I've heard there are a few figures shipping with an incorrect stand...
#53 Maul has a RotJ stand
#54 Chewbacca has a plain Star Wars stand
#55 Kit has an ESB stand
#60 Ep2 Clone has an ESB stand
not sure if there are others...
-
I got an AOTC Clone Sergeant and it's got a TESB base.
-
I found them for the first time this weekend. They had tons of the EPIII clones. All I took was the lone R5-J2.
-
All I took was the lone R5-J2.
IMO that's the best figure out of this wave.
-
haven' t found them in any store near me yet but hopefully soon i will :'(
-
I missed these this morning because a pipe broke in my basement and a wind storm ripped a bunch of shingles off my roof so I was tied up at my house all day with repairs.
By the time I got to Target it was 7 PM and all they had lying around was a Kit Fisto and the green Utapau paint-type app clone trooper, neither of which I wanted.
Damn.
But they've hit, and I'll keep checking back.
-
Just found them all this afternoon at WM. I was very surprised as it appeared there were about 3-4 cases of figures that were put out. I'm just happy that I got my 1 EPII clone and 2 EPIII clones. Now I'm just waiting for the next Wave and the 'Battle of WM' wave...
-
Have yet to see these in my area. Most of the stores are sitting on bare pegs or with Endor 3PO and Jer.
-

The crazy thing was, at the Target right down the street, there was only one figure on the pegs (lushros). Yet at the WM and the TRU, the pegs were full. Very bizarre...
-
I was just thinking last night that getting the final "7" will probably be a bit frustrating due to inventory at the beginning of the year.
-
Sandtroopers.com has pics of Appo & his wave.

Scored. Love the Cody. Good to get some more clone seargents from AOTC as well.
-
These haven't yet hit Pittsburgh in bulk... Plus getting out to Target has been nye on impossible for me lately so I'm sure the more heavily trafficed areas are getting something, but still nobody's mentioning much in my area and I'm seeing NOTHING around here.
-
I found Cody and the imperial droid, but everything else was gone. I still need the clones and the battle droids.
-

Same here all we still have in my stores are the endor wave i still haven't even seen a sign of any of the new finall 22 yet :'(
-
The local TRU got three cases of Wave "7" the other night, and thanks to one local guy who apparently needs an army of holographic Clones, I am still sans Cody. >:(
That said, the figures that did hit the pegs sold fairly quickly, with the 5th Fleet Clone being the surprising lag-behind figure, alongside Kit Fisto. The Battle Droids and SBD are selling much better than I would have thought, given their EU-related paint scheme and subpar sculpt and articulation. I guess people are really tired of having their Clones be opponent-less.
-
I have not seen any sign of this wave so far- not even remnants. Just Greatest Battles, Endor 1, and Endboo.
What about you Jesse?
-
They're around DN, that's why you should check out the Pittsburgh forums and get involved because you'll get some tips on your area from time to time. They're not out in abundance, but just tonight the WM out on Route 8 happened to get them in, so they're sporatically showing up here and there... That store's a little closer to my haunts than I've heard reports. Seems the N. Hills area got them first. I've heard nothing about your area near the AP, Monroeville, Greensburg, and I hit the Mills Mall and haven't seen them there... Nothing around C3 either that I'm aware of.
-
I found one of the only one I was looking for, the Imperial R5. While not as thrilling as an all-new sculpt of some other character, I think this is one of the best repaints I've ever seen! I have him lined up with R2-Q5 in a small Emperor's arrival scene, and just in comparison to that Imperial R2, he has much better paint apps and detail, not to mention the "cables" on his ankles. If Hasbro wishes to use this excellent R5 sculpt for any other of the Saga R5's, I'll buy!
-
No signs here either. :-[
-
Nothing so Far >:(

Unfortuneately I don't really have time during the week or weekends to head out to other locations where it seems that other Pittsburgh collectors are faring better. I'm pretty much stuck to Robinson and Beaver Valley, which kind of sucks. :-\
I'll be going down to GA and SC over break, though, so hopefully I'll see some there. All I want are those damn 442s.
-
The next seven have been found in Hong Kong. That means that they could be here within the week.
-

Possibly, but I wouldn't count on it. Shipments tend to really slow down right after Christmas, and in the case of TRU, they conduct inventory in January, so they don't get in much of anything until almost February. With those things in mind it could be a little while until wave 9 starts showing up at retail in force. However some e-tailers do have wave 9 in hand (Andrewztoyz from one article I saw), so it might not be too long before they show up at most brick and mortar stores.
-
It seems TRU is getting this wave alot.
-
I've got a pair of the clones, but other than that the only figure I've seen (and I've seen him 4 times) is Kit Fisto.
WTF is up with that?!
-
im just hoping ill be able to find some of these figures next week when i go to the states :)
-

Wow,no Chewie? No Maul? No droid!!?
That's weird.
-
I am surprised too. Chewie and Maul were warming like crazy here prior to xmas. So where the clones for that matter. The AOTC one went quickly but the other two ROTS flavors hung around for a while. Now it is a barren wasteland.
-
;D I've found the droid and that's about it :P
-
besides the kit fisto that i got on xmas and the clone sergeant i got from a trade, ive found nothing. i am VERY surprised chewie isnt warming.
-
I've found zilch.
-
I've only seen the Swimtime Kit, and that was a few weeks back.
-
I saw the whole wave in St. Louis before Christmas, but didn't have luggage room (or the desire to stand in a HUGE line to get 2 R5 droids).
Finally saw the whole wave yesterday, got my 2 R5's making me officially done for the year.
+++++After hitting "post" I realized it is the Dec 31st...so I guess I should rephrase...done till Wave 2 of next year.+++++++
-
I hit the clones at a Toys R us once, that has been my only sighting of that wave. Now Walmart and Target appear to be re-setting aisles and changing sku/dcpi numbers, so probably no new stock for a few weeks. Maybe a few will slip through, but it looks like the January drought is on.
-
Saw all of the first wave of these guys today en mass at a local Wal Mart. I held off on buying all but four figures. Want to save some money for the TAC.

me too, im saving money, only picking out the very best of the final 22...
-
My WM and Target stores are overloaded with the Gb wave and the Endor/Naboo wave. No sign of the Holo Cody wave anywhere in San Antonio. >:(

If you see any more of these, pick em up! I still haven't found hardly any. Danny has most of his one-of-each, but we're way behind. :)
-
You and me both Rob, we're bigtime behind up here. Final 22 are a pain to find and they just show up in dribs and drabs. It's killing me not finding this stuff... I hope it truly does ship till like March because otherwise I'm gonna be scrambling and army building will be an afterthought on a lot of these stupid clones.
Fortunately I think I don't want as many battledroids as I thought. ****** sculpt they used on that one, yikes. Rigid at least, but can't hold a blaster right so that blows and the articulation is minimal at best.
-
I dunno, I'm starting to like the Battle Droid 2-pk more than I thought I would.
Jesse have the TRU stores in your area gotten that wave in much that you know of? That was the best place to find them around these parts. There was an over abundance of clones... so if they haven't hit in your area at TRU yet, that might be the place to start checking.
;)
-
No reports yet but I haven't been to a TRU in a bit. The only place I've heard any of the locals finding them though is Wal-Mart... Target's are resetting right now and not restocking, and WM seems to be jumping into that as well.
-
Most of my wave 8 sightings have been at Target and TRU so far. But I saw a report that wave 9 has been sighted in California. Haven't seen any receipt or product photos though.
-
But I saw a report that wave 9 has been sighted in California. Haven't seen any receipt or product photos though.
Yeah I saw that report as well. Gotta love those "my friend found the new wave at -enter obscure retail location here- yet he has no camera or a way to get them to me so I can show proof" reports. ::)
-
That's the unfortunate side effect of getting info at a place that's like the dirt mall. ;D But we're bound to see these popping up some more since they've been sighted in Asia and online to a limited extent.
-
That and no other reports made one report look dubious.
-
Target seems to be putting more of these out (wave 8 that is)- I came across more in Minnesota, thanks to a tip from Jedijaybird. I left the clones, but did pick up that crazy camo super battle droid and an endor trooper I needed. I have a case on order with EE for the appo wave, so here's hoping. Even though I only pick and choose on the Hasbro figures now, those Wal mart figs are looking to be tough to get. The stores near me have cleared out basics, and the peg-resets don't look encouraging
-
Hmmm. The dirtmall report is starting to seem more dubious. The only wave 9 in-hand auctions seem to be from the UK. Even for a repack like Yarael Poof. Aside from that I saw a couple of wave 9 figures from Arkansas that *might* just be from some buyer for WalMart.
-
Wave 9 isn't out yet but we should see a pretty good amount of it hanging around during February while 30AC is delayed.
-
I have a feeling these last to waves will be the new GB/HV in Feburary, even the clones & Sep droids warming.
-

I think a lot of people would be OK with that. ;)
-
Well, I have noticed that some army builders seem *disinterested* in the 442nd and 5th Fleet Clones. Usually I see the other army builders gone before those. Perhaps the army builders are rebelling against non-movie Clone Troopers?
-

Or maybe just "Cloned out" - too many new Clones to keep up with and giving up.

Like Jesse said I am cloned-out. There is only so many time I canl buy the same figure before I feel like a moron.
-

Right there with ya- As much as I love amassing troopers, these non-stop repaints are driving Hasbro and I further apart. One of each trooper for me (OK sometimes 2), and even then I'll be shaking my head at myself when I do it. I've skipped more than 1/2 the figures in the last couple of assortments.
At least the target battle packs (Mace, skirmish, clone attack) provide multiple clones of the same type for a decent price. I hope they continue that pattern in 07.

I concour about the dubious nature of the reports, but these should still be right around the corner.

I haven't even bought one 442nd or 5th Fleet clone. Had they had even a 5 second fight sequence with the 442nd fighting on Cato Neimodia or something like that, I'd have bought about 20 of them for sure. I'm tempted, but no screen time, no space in my collection. With very few exceptions.

same here. i was really excited but now im just :P.
now im focussing on vintage SW, until the 30AC comes out.

Someone over at the www.sandtroopers.com forum says theyve found wave 9 at a fry's electronics in San Jose.
-
One guy found the final WM exclusive wave at Fry's without a receipt or photographs? ???
-

I believe he's talking about the Appo wave. And that post was made a week or so ago. Hard to believe that they were found there and nowhere else besides overseas.
-
Ah ok, not the WM wave then... Well, I'm still waiting for a picture with a receipt before I go too nuts pulling my hair out that I haven't seen anything but the first wave of the final 22.
-
I was looking around over at Hasbro Toy Shop, and it looks like they have some of the figures from the first wave (Wave 7? - the one that has been found at retail) of the "Final 22" available and in stock. Some are sold out, but part of the wave is there if anyone is interested.
-
yesterday at target i saw the first 5th fleet security id ever seen but just passed. i also saw chewie, but passed. the same sculpt will be a warming saga legend in a few months. :P
-
Any sign of the Kashyyyk clone/Appo wave yet, even on the West coast?
-

Actually, per RS's post (http://www.rebelscum.com/story/front/Saga_Legends_Change_102985.asp) yesterday, Chewie with 3PO is being switched out with the EIII "Wookiee Rage" Chewy.
-

Still waiting. When is inventory over?
-
In one of the BBTS newsletter e-mails not too long ago (last week maybe) they said they were expecting their Appo wave (Wave 9) at the end of this week...
-
Any sign of the Kashyyyk clone/Appo wave yet, even on the West coast?
A guy at sandtroopers.com found the Appo wave at a comic-book store in Santa Cruz. No reliable (i.e. retail store) sitings yet.
-
I read the report you mentioned Metal and they keep implying they're "out there" but yet nobody's found them anywhere but at this store... a store that could've easily picked them up from an overseas seller where they've already shown up some. I'm guessing they're NOT out there yet, or at least that's the only way to look at it till something legitimate from mass retail is proven.
-
Finally found one of these last night - the droid.
Now if I can just find the other 8 or so before the next bunch show up any day... ::)
-

I wonder what the hell is going on in your area. If my memory serves correctly, your area used to be pretty nifty. You must have found 20 Evolutions sets before I even smelled them here.
-
It usually is - Evolution sets by the dozen... votc stormtroopers out the wazoo, but for some reason I can't find these at all.
Endor wave is finally clogging up some of the stores - which is better than the greatest battles and junk that was clogging it all up before.
I haven't had any problems completely missing figures yet - odds are they will show up in big numbers at some point here.
And if they don't - 2/3rds of this wave is crap anyway! 8)
-
I had a preorder for holo Obi-Wan and Padme from this wave at BBTS, and they're in my Pile of Loot now, waiting to be shipped.
-
I find it very odd that Wave 9 has not popped up in California yet.
-
Why is that? I find it odd it hasn't popped up in Arizona yet, since I usually see news from there before I see it here.
DS
-
Well, e-tailer http://www.toymaniacs.com (http://www.toymaniacs.com) already has wave 9. It seems that between that and the Fry's report that Hasbro might be servicing their smaller accounts first with this wave.
-
That Fry's report was never confirmed...
-
Like I said earlier, BBTS was expecting their Wave 9 last week. Not only did they get their cases, but a few of the figures have been listed as IN STOCK (http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/menu.aspx?menu=354&company=0&category=1831) for a few days now.
Add in what Nick said about ToyManiacs and it sure looks like the little guys are getting their fill of these now.
Perhaps the big store's goods are just stuck in the distribution centers until inventories are over?
-
Well, e-tailer http://www.toymaniacs.com (http://www.toymaniacs.com) already has wave 9. It seems that between that and the Fry's report that Hasbro might be servicing their smaller accounts first with this wave.
Since cases are numbered wave 7 included the first of final 22 then isn't wave 8 the next figures and wave 9 the WM exclusives? So, toymaniacs got WM exclusives in? Why do the etailers and retailers get different wave numbers on their cases anyway--I've noticed this with basic figure and titanium ship cases..the numbers are vastly different from etailers boxes from retailers boxes. :-\
DS

Why do the etailers and retailers get different wave numbers on their cases anyway--I've noticed this with basic figure and titanium ship cases..the numbers are vastly different from etailers boxes from retailers boxes. :-\
Because the majority of the etailers call the Waves by the order they were released:
Wave 1 - Carkoon
Wave 2 - Hoth
Wave 3 - Geonosis
Wave 4 - Coruscant
Wave 5 - Tatooine
Wave 6 - Endor/Jedi
Wave 7 - Endor/Naboo/Tatooine
Wave 8 - Final 22, #53-62
Wave 9 - Final 22, #63-69
Wave 10 - Wal-Mart Exclusives #70-74
For some reason, Hasbro called the Geonosis wave Wave 2.5 on the boxes they sent to the retailers. That screwed up the numbering making the case numbers off by 1...
Wave 1 - Carkoon
Wave 2 - Hoth
Wave 2.5 - Geonosis
Wave 3 - Coruscant
Wave 4 - Tatooine
Wave 5 - Endor/Jedi
Wave 6 - Endor/Naboo/Tatooine
Wave 7 - Final 22, #53-62
Wave 8 - Final 22, #63-69
Wave 9 - Wal-Mart Exclusives #70-74
It all comes down to Hasbro doing whatever it wants on the case numbers and the etailers just trying to find a way to help the average joe out by using a set of numbers that is easier to follow.
-
Our Wal Mart just stuck all the figures they had on clearance and are not planning to restock. The newest figures they had were the newer Vader (the ROTJ emperor's wrath rework- I forget the name), Moff JerJerrod, C3PO ,and some Heroes and Villains/greatest battles/whatevers.
I wanted that Endor Luke, darn it...
Of course, our Wal Mart also kinda sucks as far as stocking anything correctly goes (said an employee). I need to look out of town soon...
-
Mitsukara- try scanning the Endor wave figures, because at my store they're ringing up at $2 each even though they're mixed in with H&V and GB which ring up at $5 and change...
-
Haven't seen any of 22 in my area. The newest thing we have are the Value Packs. Most store shelves are still empty even with resets. Checking WM everyday for clearance Tins, but no change so far. The only figure I really want of the 22 is Appo anyway, I'll have to wait and see on the others. Are repaints really worth the $$$.
-
Our Wal Mart just stuck all the figures they had on clearance and are not planning to restock.
Ignore 99.9% of what Wal-Mart employees tell you Mitsu... Your Wally will certainly restock. The clearance you're seeing is certainly attributed to an overstock at your location, probably tied to a certain # of figures on-hand in cases sitting in the back room... Other stores are doing similar things with the 2-pack format I think>
Every year WM seems to scare collectors by saying they're not going to restock, and every year they restock figures galore... Been this way since the line started.

If you want to parse words about it, then Toymaniacs got wave 8. Most people I've seen in the forums call the Holo Obi-Wan/Appo/Clone Scout assortment wave 9. You could just check their site to see the figures, of course.
-
Most people I've seen in the forums call the Holo Obi-Wan/Appo/Clone Scout assortment wave 9.
Most people called the year 2000 the millennium. That doesn't mean they were right. ;)
-
Still haven't yet to see any of the Final 22's. One WM looks like their clearing for something.
-
come on hasbro im still waiting for the final 22....HEck i havent even seen a DS trooper yet what am i talking about

yeah i know....its a little double hit right there against hasbro.....never fully came out with the Endor wave in my area nor did the final 22(then again i dont think it has hit canada) :-\ in other words hasbro does not seem to like Mississauga to much.
And the name isnt Paul... :-X
-
Whoo hoo - thanks to a few finds this week and a little help from Paul, I'm all caught up!
-
Still haven't seen anything new. Every store I go to has either bare pegs or Endor wave figures.
-
Wave 8 is slowly, and I do mean slowly appearing in my area.
-
There have been a few semi-reliable reports over at RS that both the Walmart wave and wave 8 (Appo) are starting to hit in CA.
-

cool! time for my billion appos, a kitik, a mace droid, cantina 2-pack, and...not much else. 8)
-
There have been a few semi-reliable reports over at RS that both the Walmart wave and wave 8 (Appo) are starting to hit in CA.
I also saw a posting over on a Joe Board that they were hitting in Vegas as well.
-
I am all caught up, just need the walmart wave.
-
I found two Final 22 figures today, the Green AOTC Clone and the Imperial R5-D4 repaint. I picked up the droid since I only had enough for one figure (and I got a Green Clone with those EE packs). Pretty sad that some of you are already caught up but down in Texas we haven't gotten anything.
-
Scored holo Obi-Wan and a Clone Trooper - Combat Engineer at a comic shop today. Those were the only figures from that wave that I saw, but they were definitely a surprise.
Also, an interesting note on the Clone Trooper - Combat Engineer. The sculpt on this trooper is identical to the Evolutions ROTS Clone Trooper. The chief difference however is that the Evolutions Clone has a utility belt with attached kama and holsters, while the Combat Engineer Clone has only the utility belt.
-
I picked up the rest of these last night.
Some interesting things I noted...
I don't know if was prior mentioned but Yareel poof has the cool McQuarrie lightsaber, however, on the back of his card it shows a regular lightsaber :-\.
The Kashyk trooper comes with the lower leg mounted little gun and the mid-sized gun, but the pic on the back of the card shows him holding the rifle :-\?!
Aurra sings' antenna(sensor) is not there but they talk about it on the back of the card ::).
The Wm exlusives came in 2 different style cases(see WM thread for more).
DS
-
I just realized Aurra has a really cool cloth 'scarf', nice touch there! ;D
DS
-
I posted you got a set there Jon, thanks for the head's up. IT lets the rest of us know to be on the hunt considering the ****** ratio. >:(
-
Thanks Jesse--
Oops I forgot to mention...
while the store clerk let me get what I needed out of the long style case, he told me they're not supposed to set up the long cases on end cap until February. I'm not sure if this was WM-wide or local store policy or if applies to the smaller regular-sized( hat also had exclusives) at the other WM either.
DS
-
I just realized Aurra has a really cool cloth 'scarf', nice touch there! ;D
DS
Yeah, that makes me tempted to pick up an opener, but I keep hearing the word "sucker" echoing in my head when I think about it. :P
-
cool! theyre out!
-
Indeed they are. At least this is (http://thejawa.com/nuke/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=2223), and so is this (http://thejawa.com/nuke/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=2222).
-
that jawa photo of Obi doesn't do it justice...the ones I saw (including my purchased one) have a really dark near-purple midnite blue hologram color.
If we're going to be beat over the heads by hasbro with holo's at least they varied the color a bit.
DS
-
After having the Kashyyk clone in hand, I'm still not convinced that I shouldn't use him as special teams for my Imperial Army. Interesting wave though. Can't wait to get an opener Vader Droid.
-
No sign of these at the big retailers around here (and there probably won't be given the Grand Army of the Jerjerrod at Wal-Mart), but a co-worker picked me up a Combat Engineer Clone Trooper at a local comic shop over the weekend. She said they had ordered one case (they only ever get one case of SW figures, out of a fear of getting stuck with gobs of pegwarmers) and that someone had taken the Appo out and left the rest.
Now, if TRU would get as many of this wave as they got of the Wave 8 stuff, I wouldn't be nearly as worried about finishing off what I want as I am right now, given Target and WM's relative lack of new stuff (Target just got another case of Wave 6 this morning). ::)
-
I never saw all of Wave 8 actually... Wave 9's not even been seen at all around Pittsburgh to the best of my knowledge, and the WM exclusives... hah, I'm not even thinking about those at this point. It's pathetic around here, and not like we have tons of pegwarmers either. We seemingly got spared the glut of repacks you other guys got... We've got pegwarmers but loads of space for new figures too.
This sorta sucks butt.
-
Yeah...Pittsburgh is pretty much the suck right now. I ended up going online for the two figs from Wave 8 that I wanted, and I haven't even been out on a toy row for over a week. It's just not worth it, because I know I won't find anything...
-
Had my first figure purchase in honestly I don't remember how long today. After scoring at several Wal-Marts and Targets, I'm down to needing only six more figures to complete my Saga Collection.
53 Sith Training Maul
59 Clone Trooper 5th Fleet Security
62 Battle Droids
64 Commander Appo
65 Elite Corps Clone Trooper
68 Combat Engineer Clone Trooper
I have a hunch most of these are gonna be a pain for me to track down.
-
I picked up the three Cantina Aliens, Aurra Sing, and a Combat Engineer tonight at Wal Mart. They had no Mace Windu Astro Droid, or any other Wave 9 figures. Hopefully I'll find them soon.
-
They had 8 cases unopened on the floor tonite in Oklahoma city WM, and 1 case of wave 8(appo). There was 6 end caps of 'Enboo'. I guess the figures that are supposed to go to minnesota/michigan go here then...where no one seems to want it??
DS
-
Saw those Endboo end caps in SoCal and scored the 41st Elite trooper, camo scout. Yeah compared to the photo they have on the front of the clone and the actual figure there's definatley enough of a difference that these guys are now going to be the ones that SHOULD'VE been on Endor, at least for me. I haven't opened it yet, but does it have the Evo clone rifle that it shows in the pic, or does it only hav the pistol & carbine? Also saw the Engineer-but that's a pass for me. Helped a guy out that was looking for anything new though, made sure he found it before anybody else nabbed it.
-
I picked up several today for me and some local guys today. Here is the best part...all the regular Wave figures rang up for $2.00...the WalMart Wave rang up for $6.63 though.
At the second WalMart I found them at, they rang up for $5.00...odd.
-

Dude, same thing happened to me, well the $5.00 ring up, not the $2.00. Maybe it's just Texas weirdness.
-
I talked to somebody who was finding stuff in Dallas (I am in between Dallas and Fort Worth) and he said they were ringing up as regular price. But he did find EVERY figure he was looking for. So there isn't even a trend we can find.
-
I picked up 2 BARCs today. I was disappointed that they came with blasters and a pistol instead of a rifle (as pictured on the card) as they were mostly using those on Kashyyyk.
-

Moi?
Once I get the few figures from you - I'll be all caught up on Saga. Odd considering how behind I was on the first 9 or 10 of these and how instantly caught up I am on the second half of them.
-
Well that was your information to share not mine.... but yes as I was replying the first time, was when you called from the first stop.
I was 50% for today. 4 WM stops and 2 of them had figs.
If I get a chance, I may stop by one more on the way home (if the snow/ice permits)
-
No harm in sharing that kind of stuff...
I batted .667 today - 2/3.
Do you think there will be ice today?
-
You ice pussies...
I found the Vader droid today all by his lonesome... Not one figure from Wave 9 but him so I grabbed him and the WM 5 and headed away to check out. No clones, no Obi's, no Padme, no nothing from the final 22 except the exclusives and that vader droid.
-
i like that vader droid.
i also LIKED padme but RS says shes innacurrate. she has the scratches on her back and the wrong blaster. pisses me off.
-
You ice pussies...
Not me - I love it when it ices. I live downtown near a freeway and it gets dead quiet when that happens.
I just wasn't expecting any today is all.
-
I love pandemonium caused by ice in the south... It happens up here too though, it's just more fun watching it in the south where it's uncommon.
Padme's accuracy is dependant on your POV... She uses a droid blaster in the arena and has the arena scratches on her back and the sand on her knees and things... That saiid, she lost a lot of her outfit when the cat scratched too so she's technically inaccurate anyway in her decoration. If she didn't have the scratch it would've been nice to get a softgoods cape and her tiny pistol that fits in her holster, but since this Padme's really made for the arena and not the droid factory or pre-arena stuff, she is inaccurate in her decoration, not her accessories.
-
No doubt - people shut EVERYTHING down around here, even if it's only a little bit of ice.
Back to your regularly scheduled program.
-
i like that vader droid.

Man, I originally wanted that Padme, but after seeing it in person I passed. It's articulation is limited, and I think the kitbash or whatever the sculpt is, sucks.
-
Had a pretty decent score tonight.
2 x Kitik Keed'kak
2 x Aurra Sing
2 x Nabrun Leids & Kabe
1 x Labria
1 x R4-M6
1 x Padme
1 x Yarael Poof
1 x Holo Obi-Wan
2 x R4-K5
2 x Commander Appo
2 x Elite Corps Clone
3 x Combat Engineer Clone Trooper
Looking forward to the morning when I'm a little more awake and I can open some of these. I picked up a couple of extra things to help out some friends, but I really hope that the army builders don't go crazy on the Commander Appo's. There's just no need, especially when there's a regular SA 501st Clone on the way in the SAGA Legends line. Anyway, what are people going to do with all of those extra pauldrons?
-
Anyway, what are people going to do with all of those extra pauldrons?
Customs. ;D
-
Scored 2 Commander Appos and 2 Elite Corps Clones this morning at Walmart, the ones I was definitely going to buy, also picked up Yarael Poof, Holo Obi Wan, and 2 Clone Engineers.
Passed on Padme, the likeness is terrible. Didn't want Anakin's droid either.
-

I decided I'm not going to go for the Appo sans Paldrun Squad and wait for the Legends one. I'll pick 2 or three Appo's for Squad leaders though. I have to admit that that decision is due solely to the inaccuracy of the blue stripe on the chest plate.
-
Got the ones I was looking for today. Or I should say that my relative in Texas found these today at their local WM and are shipping them to me tomorrow. Can't wait to get them!
-
i hope i find em soon. :'(
-
Caught the remix case assortments at WM tonight... I decided for the first time ever actually to crack open cases myself. I felt dirty. :(
Still it was a rush taking a case and sneaking off to an aisle to open it since I know that's something the WM stock guys sometimes hound you about... I got the 3 new clone types, and my gf's son got the Kashyyyk Trooper too... Opened two cases and took all the clones from both.
I forgot to check (duh me) but were Obi holograph and Padme even in those? I am thinking not, but I didn't even check. They had a good 6 more cases of this same assortment sitting there but I didn't push my luck and moved on. Also had a good dozen of the pre-packaged display assortment as well...
At a WM closer to me that we'd hit earlier this past evening my gf's son got a Nabrun Leids/Kabe 2-pack and Camo SBD. At that store I asked the guy nearby stocking shelves if he'd let us open them up and he was a very cool guy... Dave was his name. Sometimes you luck out, sometimes you don't, and tonight was a very nice customer service moment for me and I apologized for bugging him while he worked... Really cool guy though and he offered to open the other dozen or so cases of the pre-packaged display assortments, but knowing what was in them I told him that was ok and thanked him profusely as we went on our merry way.
Made the kid happy, made me happy to not get a BS line too... Good times. I left a WM content twice this evening. :)

Another Wal*Mart success story! The case I saw did not have holo obi or Padme, just lots of clones of all types, plus 2 yodas, jedi luke, and an obi wan.
And speaking of feeling dirty... I was determined not to spend a bunch on re-paints this year, and here I am looking at a pile of them and a hole in my wallet where the money used to be. Must....find.....willpower....someday!
-
Still it was a rush taking a case and sneaking off to an aisle to open it
LOL
Nice visual. I pictured a kid conducting a lightning strike on a cookie jar.
:)
-
It felt like that, complete with mental moral dilemma as I looked at the case, looked at the front of the store... looked at the cases, looked around, looked back at the store exit... looked back at the cases... picked one up and ran off.
I shouldn't care, I'm 29 years old, I don't have a criminal record, I have a decent track record with the opposite sex, I can still get out of bed and fit out my front door daily... Why is picking up a box of toys and opening it to see what's inside such a weird thing? I got my figures though and played with them at home last night. I don't feel too bad after that.
-
I don't see what the big deal is either. Would they rather us leave the merchandise on the floor and not buy it? It's supposed to be sold, and we're giving them the money for it. A lot of money.
-
I've never had any qualms about cracking open a case straight from the palette when no one's looking.
If what you want to buy is sitting right there, why should a little bit of tape that hasn't been sliced yet come between you and success?
-
That's actually the first time I ever saw cases I didn't have on the pallette so that was a new experience for me. I mean I've got almost 2 decades of collecting under my belt and that literally was the first time I had a score of fresh figures in cases at a WM. Dumb luck I guess.
I just didn't know what to do...
Plus I know people get their balls busted by the stock guys putting the stuff out a lot of the time... Or that they have had someone see them on the cameras and dash down to stop them from opening stuff. I don't get it, but I figured if I hurried I'd get at least some of what I want. I could've been a real dick and cracked open every case taking the Clones... I want them. I settled for 2 cases minus the clone my gf's kid wanted though.
On a bright note today I am 100% caught up with Saga crap... I didn't buy the battledroids, might do that yet, but I found Padme and Holo Obi today at my nearby WM and a siege engineer clone for the kid. I just need to find more Appo's, more Kashyyyk clones, more Sergeants, and a handful of all the other clones too... less of them though.
I have all the Final 22 though and it feels good knowing I'm not behind anymore save for needing the 2 battlepacks I've yet to get. ::) F'n target's such a pain to get to though and I'm sort of tethered to home these days when I'm around. Sucks.
-
At almost all of the stores I've gone to where there are cases out on the floor I've had success. And if you ask an employee if it's alright they're usually fine with that. It's less for them to have to put out on the pegs later on. Make sure you through in things like "excuse me", "please", "miss", "sir" or "thanks" and you're almost guaranteed to make out alright.
As a matter of fact, my score of about 20 figures a couple of days ago came from just that. There were a couple of cases there and the employee was fine with me taking the figures since it lessened what she had to put out later that night.
-
After hitting Target a few times over the weekend, and visiting the WM on the other side of town from us, I'm pretty much caught up as well with the Final 22. I found Appo, Vader's astro, and holo Obi at Target on Friday, the WM wave on Saturday, and then on Sunday I stopped back at the same Target store and found a couple Elite Corps troopers. The only figures I didn't see this weekend were the Padme and Yarael Poof, but I was kind of on the fence about getting those anyways. I wouldn't mind getting a couple more of the troops (Elite Corps and Appo), but I'm happy to at least have found the figures. Hopefully they'll become more plentiful before the 30th AC stuff starts hitting.
-
Pickup the WM exclusives **R4-M6, Aurra Sing, Labria, Kitik, & Nabrun & Leeds** the other day. But I still haven't seen any of the other "final 22" figures.
-
The completionist in me had taken over this weekend as I picked clone repaints Appo,Elite Corp and the 442nd. I also picked up Padme but mostly for parts. This figure sucks bad. She can not stand straight on she has to be turned to the side or else she is in a very akward pose. Her stand is Empire Strikes Back.
-
bespin repack chewies are now clogging the pegs of targets everywhere in SJ.
-
Just another note regarding the typos on the back of the Darth Vader droid- my case from EE came with the misprint "Dark Vader" and the line about "new the sith lord." The one I had found in the store had Darth corrected, but not the rest.
-
Here's a loose pic of my two Appo figures - one with the pauldron, one without in case anyone's wondering what they look like opened up.
When the other version comes out, I know I am going to be tight on my Star Wars budget, so I plan on army building this one provided I can find them.
:P
-
Got Kitik the other day, as this was the only one I wanted from the Final 22. I thought it was great that Hasbro released this one on card after the cantina section fiasco.
-
Chewie am I seeing that right, did they use black joint on the ankles? like they did with the AT-TE gunner.
-
Nope, on mine they're dark blue.
-
Chewie am I seeing that right, did they use black joint on the ankles? like they did with the AT-TE gunner.
The ankle joints on all of mine are blue also.
-
One of my local WMs got five of the long cases earlier this week, and promptly threw the boxes themselves out so they could shove the figures onto the already Jerjerrod infested pegs. Naturally, the "new" stuff is moving more quickly, with the Vader already back to his pre-holiday pegwarmer status. Labria seems to be sitting longer than the others, with Aurra Sing (for some ungodly reason) and the Mace Astromech being the quicker sellers. I wound up getting the Nabrun Lieds/Kabe two pack as I really liked the paintjob on Lieds, but Labria just flat out sucks.
I'd really like to know who made the decision to haul that mold out of the attic and repaint it when there are several other Cantina aliens who are much more compatible with present-day aesthetics who would have been better choices (Myo, Trevagg, and Jerriko, for example).
Still no sign of Wave 9 (?) around here, though. TRU got a couple of cases a few weeks back, but neither Target nor Wal-Mart have gotten anything. I guess with the 30AC figures starting to show up the dreaded "end of line curse" is alive and well. :-\
-
I've wondered about a lot of Hasbro's repack choices this year, figs like Labria or Reikken or Poggle, and the only thing I can think of is they like to card previously uncarded figs just for the sake of including them in the line. I'm not a carded collector, but maybe the folks that are consider the gallery of characters unbroken back to POTF2 (or whenever you started maybe) so for them and Hasbro, Labria is as good as new. Which sucks, but it saves me money. I would have definitely like to have seen those POTC Cantina guys again, though. Or R3-A2. Or...
-
I would have definitely like to have seen those POTC Cantina guys again, though.
Now that would have been smart.. from our perspective.
-
Picked up Training Darth Maul today with a paint error. I'll try to post a picture soon, but His chin is painted all black instead of the red with black markings.
-
For those interested, hasbrotoystore.com has the Barc Trooper, Appo wave in stock.
-
Appo and Elite Clones are sold out.
-
I finally opened an Appo, and am very bummed at the way the head is just looking to pop off due to the shoulder pad harness pushing his noggin up. Would it be that big of a deal to give him a little neck peg so his head stays on? I sure like this figure on the card, but there will be a bunch of headless variants in the future secondary market (assuming any kids get these so they get the chance to lose the head).
-
Ha! I wasn't aware that anyone actually accepted this as a Commander Appo figure. I've been army building him as a 501st trooper and ditching the pauldrons. They look fabulous.
As far as I'm concerned, this is Appo:
(http://www.thecustomalliance.com/rhey/DSC02169.jpg) (Courtesy of Michael Rey's custom at the Custom Alliance)
Suspenders, green tinted visor, no pauldron, holstered sidearm. At least that's how he's been shown in every source up until this point.
-
:(I'm still looking for an appo and Vader's droid to finish the set :P
-
Since he's just a regular looking 501st in the movie, that's how he is to me. :) I've only seen one Appo though to "army build". Bummer for me, but he's been the first to go every time.
-
I picked up the following today:
Padme Amidala
Obi Wan Kenobi Hologram (Light Variation)
Dath Vader's Astromech Droid
Elite Corps Clone Trooper x3 ;D
Clone Engineer
Now I have all 74 figures from the Saga Collection. I still want to pick up more of the five Episode Three clones from the Final 22, but for now I'm very happy.
-
Are the camo battledroids made of sturdier plastic than the earlier releases? I'm sick of getting battle droids that don't stand. I'd like to get a few of these 2-packs, but I don't need a spaghetti-leg army.
-
They seem a tad rubbery to me but until it gets warmer, I'm not sure how they'll hold up.
-
They seem a tad rubbery to me but until it gets warmer, I'm not sure how they'll hold up.
Thanks. I guess if they're rubbery now, they'll be bend-ems by July.
-
just get the new SBD. its the better one of them all i think.
-

How big of a temperature fluctuation is there inside your house in different seasons. Usually in the winter I set the heat so that the house is always at least 65-68 degrees, and in the summer the air conditioner goes on to keep the house cool at least 68-70.
Unless your collection is outside frying like an egg on the hood of your car, I don't see how your plastic would soften in the house. Does it?
-
Unless you don't have A/C for your whole house, which I know I don't... BD's definitely drooped more in summer than winter for me, though I have a small AC unit for my collection room, but still I dont' run it 24/7 either and it gets warmer sometimes.
-
Yeah, I'm in an apartment in NYC so there's no central air for me either. I have an AC in that room, but like Jesse, I don't run it 24/7.

Did anyone else find that the Final 22 weren't overly abundant, and generally this line ended similar (not quite as bad, just similar) to 2005?
I found some of 2005's repaint waves here and there... Wound up getting them all of course, but never saw much of anything, and some things I only saw once, maybe twice... With Saga '06, the same thing happened, even with an extended shipping period, which was my fear.
WM, Target, TRU... none of them stocked heavily. KM had cut shipments it seemed after the Endboo Wave. They seemed to come, sell well, and leave... Never saw cloens in much bulk. Passed on some here and there but really I never saw many that matched the totals I was hoping to meet on the Clones. It seems to me Hasbro didn't plan well for this again, or retail just bailed on ordering these in great quantities. A little disappointing as I'd really hoped we were going to have an extended period of time where these things were readily available at retail and you could grab extra clones here and there on your daily travels. My area, this didn't pan out at all. Things were pretty much "grab it when you see it", like usual. That's something I hate about Star Wars collecting sometimes.
I'm not much of a "hunt" kind of guy I guess.
-
This happens at the end of every line in this area.
Last wave of POTF2, with Motti and Leia- never here.
TC-14 and R2-B1- Ditto.
The last wave of POTJ showed at a couple stores, not in any quantity.
Saga did alright.
OTC did OK, until the Jawa and Tusken wave came out. Post-OTC showed at one WM, and that was it.
The last three or four waves of ROTS were an absolute bear to find. The last wave that had any kind of presence was the #41 Clone wave. The Gree wave showed pretty strongly too, but no Tac Ops or holo Jedi for us.
That's why I greeted news of the Final 22 in the Saga line with much disgust, especially when I heard the Elite Corps Clone was numbered among them. I wish Hasbro would just stick with their plans. These add-ons at the end of the year are annoying. If they'd had rolled these Final 22 into the 30AC, maybe they wouldn't have had to delay that series by two months.
So yeah, I feel your pain.
-
Don't forget the worst offenders of all time in the "end of the road" scenario for a line: The last three waves (one for C1, C2, and C3) in 2000 for Episode I and, more notably, the last POTF2 EU wave of the Space and Darktroopers in 1998. Hasbro does not have a good track record for these things to say the least. Let's take a look back for a moment:
-Final POTF2 Collection 1 wave (1998): Prune Face, Boussh's Bounty Chewie, Lobot, and Mothma. Anyone who was around at that time remembers how hard these were to find. As it was, I never saw them at retail and only had them because of JCPenney selling a four pack in their Christmas catalog that year.
-Final POTF2 Collection 2 wave (1998): Spacetrooper and Darktrooper from the EU line. Enough said.
-Final POTF2 Collection 3 wave (1998): This one can go two ways, but neither looks good. The last actual C3 wave to show up at retail was Ree Yees and the Death Star Trooper, and they were impossible to find. The last actual wave of C3 was the FC4 of Snitkin, DSD, AT-AT Driver, and Hoth Leia whose placement there was because retail was sick of Hasbro shipping the same crap over and over and leaving them stuck with a mountain of Rancor Keepers for months on end.
-Final POTF2 wave (overall; 2000): Admiral Motti and Princess Leia in the CommTech line.
-Final Episode I Collection 1 wave (2000): Swimming Jar Jar, Battle Damaged Destroyer Droid, and Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn
-Final Episode I Collection 2 wave (2000): Pit Droids 2 pack, Sio Bibble, and Ascension Gun Amidala
-Final Episode I Collection 3 wave (2000): TC-14 and R2-B1
-Final (non-sneak preview) POTJ wave (2002): Bo Shek, Teebo, and R4-M9
-Final Saga wave (2004): AT-ST Han, General Madine, General Lando (to Hasbro's credit, all three were immediately reissued in the OTC line)
-Final Clone Wars wave (2003): Pilot Saesee Tiin, Mon Calamari Kit Fisto, and SA Clone Trooper
-Final OTC wave (2005; technically post-OTC): Dannik Jerriko, Myo, and Feltipern Trevagg
-Final ROTS wave (2005): 501st Legion Clone Trooper, Holographic Plo Koon, Holographic Aayla Secura, R4-P17, and Wookiee Heavy Gunner
-Final TSC wave (2006-2007): Commander Appo, Combat Engineer Clone Trooper, Kashyyyk Elite Clone Trooper, Holographic Obi-Wan, Arena Padme, Darth Vader's Astromech Droid, and Yarael Poof
Outside of some of the last TSC stuff (Padme and Poof, I'm looking in your general direction), nearly every figure I've listed above in these lists has become highly sought after for one reason or another, with the biggest reason being that Hasbro hardly shipped any of them and stuck them at the end of a dying line rather than give them prominent places in their next, more widely shipped lines. That's why when Hasbro swears up and down that the tons of Greatest Battles/H&V figures clogging everyone's WMs has nothing to do with the stores getting more basic TSC figures, I do nothing but laugh. Sure, they might have different UPCs, but to the stockers, it's all just SW figures and as long as the pegs are full of Padmes and Threepios, there is no reason to order or stock anything else, different UPC or not.
-
-Final (non-sneak preview) POTJ wave (2002): Bo Shek, Teebo, and R4-M9
The funny thing about this wave is I found it just after I moved up to the Twin Cities and a TRU had put them out just before the OTC wave meaning they got them or had them in storage all the way through the AotC waves! :o ::)
-
Don't forget the WM wave, which is techinically the last TSC wave, and may as well not exist.
-
Things were pretty much "grab it when you see it", like usual. That's something I hate about Star Wars collecting sometimes.
I have to agree. As fun as it is finding something "on th pegs", I hate that aspect of the Star Wars "hunt" as well. So many times with the line, the figures in particular, you have to buy it when you see it or you'll have to go online/trade/ebay later on. I guess its just the nature of things these days with collectors, scalpers, and kiddos all gobbling up the line. It seems like, for the most part, when I was a kid you could basically find any character you wanted at retail with the vintage line - or at least some "version" of them. Good old days, and all that :P.
Anyways, back on the Final 22 subject, I have to agree with what everyone else has been saying. Even though we had this supposed larger shipping time with the 30AC delay, it didn't seem to make much difference. I wouldn't say that these final figures were any more plentiful than other "last waves". I'm fortunate that I lucked upon getting at least one of each of the ones that I wanted, but I haven't seen much beyond that. Our WM hasn't had these at all yet, buried under Enboo and GB figures for a couple of months. I happened upon the WM exclusive wave at a lesser traveled store across town from us, but those were the only ones they had there as well. I've found all the Final 22 figures I've picked up at Target and TRU. I really just got lucky with the clones though. We happened to be eating breakfast out next to our local Target store right around opening, so I ran in quick and was able to pick up 2 Elite clones, and 1 Appo. I found one other Elite clone a couple of weeks ago at TRU, but other than that I've never seen either again. I wouldn't mind having a couple extras of each of those, but I'm not going to worry about it if I don't see them at retail. Like it was mentioned earlier, why they didn't save figures like these and give them a place in the regular line - and not at the tail end - I don't understand. I'd really think its hurting Hasbro too, because these two clones (Elite and Appo) would sell like hotcakes no matter how many were on the pegs. I suppose there's always a chance of repacks/resculpts or Battle Pack versions later on. Overall though, I wouldn't say that this "last wave" has done any better than previous lines - regardless of the extended time at retail they were supposed to have.

I've been doing a lot of thinking about this. What is the real cost of a figure?
How many toy runs do you have to go on for what you want?
For example, gas is terrifically expensive at the moment. On most toy runs I come up empty. To go to 2 Targets and 2 Walmarts (sometimes a TRU and KB as well) in my area I have to drive 40 miles round trip which costs $5.50 to 6.00 and 2 hours of time.
Now, if you find 1 figure you want, that figure did indeed cost you $13.00. If you find 2, it cost you $20.00. When you find none, that haul of zero figures cost you 6 bucks.
Granted, the thrill of the hunt is worth something. But when you have a 2-3 week long dry spell and come up with nothing, you may have spent $80 and tons of time and got nothing. For that same money, you could have had a case of 12 figures shipped to your door.
For 30 AC, I'm strongly considering ordering 2 cases of every wave from Entertainment Earth and just checking the Star Wars section when I happen to be out anyway.
I submit that this would save get me every 30 AC figure I want on the year for $100s of dollars cheaper. I'd have to army build certain figures through trades or eBay, which will still be cheaper than the gas guzzling retail hunt.
Also, Dressel Rebel predicts that gas will hit $4/gallon by the end of this summer in select parts of the country at least.
-

That is what I'm doing this year, but I ordered from New Force Comics not EE. I've ordered 2x each 30AC case they have put up so far (wv 1 and 2).
Figures will be shipped right to my door and the cost works out to around $6.75 per figure shipped. That's less than retail with none of the wasted gas or time.
Yeah, I'll miss the hunt but with the 2 little guys at home I almost never go on the epic hunts anymore anyway. I hit the Target near my house when I go on diaper runs and that's about it. :-\
-
That's what I should have done with these last waves. I don't even want to think how much gas I've wasted searching for Appo and Elite Corps, only to finally find them this weekend at retail. That's a month and a half of wasted time and gas.
Then I found some 30AC at K-Mart, at $7 a figure, and they only had four of them. Of course, I think I had gone there every night after work since last Monday to find them. ::)
-

That's part of the fun though depending on how you look at it.
-
;D I'm done got a Commd.Appo and Vader's Droid at my SW collector's club.Bring on the TAC!!!

[/quote]
Great question. I had come to terms with that one a while ago. I used to go out of my way for toy runs, but now I keep it down to on my way to work and such so I'm not using gas just to look for figures. Hasn't keep me from getting what I want yet.

I've started to think about doing this as well. Although I've ordered some singles/sets online before, I've never gone the case route - but I'm thinking about maybe starting later this year. With a baby due this summer, I'm not going to be able to drive off to the stores quick to check things out - and its just going to be tougher overall to "hunt". Plus, like many have mentioned, with gas prices what they are and all that - its probably cheaper in the long run to just buy online in many cases. For the most part, I just check out the Star Wars stuff when I'm already out for something else, but those little errands will be fewer this summer as well. It is a good feeling finding them at retail, but it might not be so bad to just have them delivered to the door.
-
Its just horrible here in So Cal. Even with 7 Targets, 2 Wal Marts, Two ToysRus, two Kaybe, One Sears Grand, 3 Krmarts in a 15 sqaure mile radius its just impossiable to find anything with my work schedule. Forget the weekends the scalpers are in full force. I dont mind people getting their fair share, but when you know people have X's of certain figures and have had them for weeks and you see them just inhaling these things it makes you ask is it worth all the crap? I have already given up trying to find the 30th Boba from wave 2 and just ordered the 1st two waves minus two figures from StarWarsShop.com came to a little over 100 for 12 figures. By time I pay for the gas and add up the time its well worth the waite. I had to order the WalMart 5 from Ebay, I knew I didnt have a shot in hell of every finding those on the pegs. I walked into a Kmart today and found wave 9, of course after going through hell to find them over the previous month..there they were..but of course they had the dam price tags on the cards ( why does Kmart do that) :-X
-
Wm near me just put TONS of figures out... All TSC stuff, no TAC, but they dumped everything from Gummi Mundi to Utie Clones and Sandtroopers to Final 22 (all of them) out on the pegs. TONS. No TAC at this store for a while I wager.
-
I wonder if I'm going to polish off TAC wave one before I get the remaining Appo's and Elites I need. :P
-
I need one more Elite for my group of 10.
-
I'm at 10 after a headcount but may bump it to more if I see more of them and have the cash. NOt a bad figure, and I am digging the OT "specialists" idea a bit more too than at first.
-
hey is R5-J2 actually worth 15 bucks as said in toyfare?
cause he's only goin for regular prices on ebay.....
-
I see them in stores, so I say they're worth $6.99.
-
hey is R5-J2 actually worth 15 bucks as said in toyfare?
cause he's only goin for regular prices on ebay.....
**** ToyFare. At JD, he's worth the price on the peg.
-
well, that was just so informative, and whats with the hostility coming from the jesse's?
-
It's not hostility toward you, it's hostility toward scalper pricing. :)
-
so your saying toyfare is only for scalpers?
not ppl interested in wheather or not the useless piece of repainted plastic may well be worth something someday?
-
Toy Fare unfortunately influences people and gives them hope something they bought at the store can be sold for more...
I don't see my statement as hostile unless you took offense to me saying what the thing is worth I guess, but to me that's simply a fact. It's shipping, it's not actually even that difficult to find at retail, so I say $6.99 is it's worth.
Some nut in a magazine giving people false hope because he can't find one isn't really good advice in my book, but that's me. Toy Fare's a fine mag to read but their basis for prices is generally nowhere near what most people actually pay, not to mention they tend to over-inflate prices on currently shipping merchandise as well, so their "value" ratings are incredibly off-scale to me. I know I never follow them for anything.
-
OK, that's fine and dandy. but what makes your word and or ideal towards it LAW?
is there any proof to these statements?
its not like i don't agree on some scale, heres a scenario. i bought three raiders of the lost ark action MOC Indy,Nazi Indy, and belloq for $35.00 total back in '97 . toyfare at the time estimates put all three worth about five hundred. i sit on them until two months ago, sold em on ebay and ended up getting $212.
pretty good considering it was x-mas money from gramps back in '97 that paid for them.
now is it the appearance of ebay or the rumblings of indy IV that dropped the worth or was it toyfare?
my opinion it was all of the first two, same case with starwars figures worth at the end of the '90s, of course all of which kinda dropped back down to earth with creation of new figures and lets not forget the repacking.
-
I'm with Jesse on this one. what the peg says is what its worth. however in terms of vintage figures those have higher value because they are no longer made. but if you see a semi new figure going for $50 its not worth it because the person selling it got it for $6.99 (or 9.99 depending on how north you live) and they are cheap and trying to make money off of desperate buyers. when in comes with your Indy figures that just means that someone who was into the line and missed some figures and wanted to close some lose gaps and were willing to pay that price. doesn't mean it was worth it just someone wanted to buy it.
and besides i saw enough of that r5 dude to say hes not worth $15(probably around $20 Canadian)
and i don't think all the 90's figures have high worth either as toyfair sometimes says. i can find them going for $5Canadian which is half of which the new ones cost and they are supposedly "hard to find".
don't think I'm trying to pick something with you though i am just sharing my opinion.
-
You're comparing apples and oranges Depressis, so your analogies don't really help...
This is discussing a figure that's currently shipping still to Wal-Mart and Toys R Us (and perhaps KB?), and not been difficult to find. Toy Fare's "values" may be right or they may be wrong. I don't know many people in the vintage SW hobby who'd put much faith at all in the "value" system Toy Fare has for vintage Star Wars... I personally feel that translates then across the board and nothing is a "deciding factor" as to why Toy Fare is wrong other than they always seem to estimate things for a LOT more than what the average collector is willing to pay (IE: One with some common sense and savy about his/her hobby).
I see people pay $15 or $20 for a brand new figure at the local Toy Show every time it rolls around... That doesn't put that figure's actual worth at that price though, at least to me. To me since it's something to be found at retail, retail price is it's actual worth. Anything above that is a fluke in the system.
Vintage... A whole other ball of wax, and that includes your RotLA deal. Old figures obviously have some value above their retail prices... Not always (even generally) in the "modern" line of SW figures of course, but the true vintage that didn't have a strong collector base, that's a fact... So your Raiders figures acrued in value. I don't attribute it to a film, Ebay, or anything else. They were just old and from a line of toys that some people like collecting so they gained in value.
Compared to Ebay, Toy Fare's estimated value of RotLA figures is laughable and I agree with most that say Ebay's your best bet to find the true value/worth of something.
So TF's values they attribute to modern I find even more laughable. They gauge value of something that can still be had fresh from the case at a store, and they place that value at 2 or 3 times the retail cost. Given the "staying power" of modern SW figures in the secondary market in general, I'd say their value estimates might be 4 or 5 times higher than what the item may eventually fetch... That's of course not to say that ALL modern is worthless, but a lot of it is, and when it's still shipping I think that applies double.
And I don't think it's films or anything that dropped the prices of modern SW figures... It's the fact that the market's saturated with it. While actual figures aren't public knowledge, it's pretty well known that production of modern figures is well into the thousands. That alone is reason that Toy Fare's values are comically high, coupled of course with the fact you can walk out on a toy run tonight and find one for $7. That's just common sense to me.
But it's also the crede of collecting communities like here that what you paid is what it's worth... Nobody is supposed to be attempting to make a profit off their SW figures within this site, so it's also assumed you'd be able to grab one of those R5's for its cost on the boards if someone has one available and a plea was put out for one. I know that's at least the ideal situation at most all boards like ours.
-
Toy Fare's prices are a joke. I alway's laugh at the prices they list, hey this fig is worth $$$. Right, only to the person who bought it & that is what they base it on. The highest price a figure or item was sold for. If the fig is still shipping/selling at retail then that is the price. If someone sells that fig for more on eBay then whatever. Magazine/book prices do not exist IMHO, checking on eBay what they go for sets the example, vintage for one.
Heck, Toy Fare has prices listed for stuff I have or I am still looking for in other areas I collect & I can still find them cheaper.
Toy Fare's prices are like AFA, they both suck.
-
Toy Fare's prices are a joke.
No kidding. I didn't realize anyone actually used that magazine for pricing. Just look at the completed eBay auctions if you ever want to know the real going market rate on something. As for those R5s, I see them all over the place. $6 - 7 each.
-
OK, that's fine and dandy. but what makes your word and or ideal towards it LAW?
You asked for people's opinions and that's what we've given you. The only "LAW" around here is that we at JD believe anything currently available at retail is worth the price on the peg. Simple as that.
-
I'm with Jesse on this one. what the peg says is what its worth.
Nope. The figure is worth whatever someone will pay you for it. Walmart sells the figure for $7 and people hand them the money for it.
Scalpers sell a figure for $15 and people hand them the money for it.
You can say at JD the figure is worth $7, or you can say according to Toyfare it's worth $15. Whichever way you choose to unload the figure, the price is valid.
I'm not supporting scalping, but to say that a figure is just worth what you pay for it off the peg is to be in total denial of the $15-20 price tag that a single carded figure does sell for every day in the secondary market.
-
Asking a question of "is ________ worth __________?" is unanswerable by that logic though DR, so I think when a question like that is asked, the best answers that can be given to said person are two-fold:
-Check Ebay... Whatever they're selling for is what they're worth.
-If it's still shipping, it's worth $7 because that's the cheapest youc an go out and buy it for right now.
Saying, "if it sells for $15 by one guy at some show, it's obviously worth that", is the complete utter simplification of the free market system... Which is fine for an Economics 100 course but there's so many grey areas to argue and things, and it really doesn't answer the question at hand. It just says, "Joe Blow at Toy Fare said it's $15 so it's $15", or "On JD it's $7 because if you sell it for more you're ass is grass around here"...
Like I said, none of that actually answers the question... And what's the point of asking EVERYONE what that figure is worth to them? I think VOTC Chewbacca is "worth" a lot from my collecting mindset... What does that tell you as someone looking for the value of a figure though? Not much at all.
-
alright at least now we have a consensus instead of two guys agreeing with each other.
oh and to prove a point : the sky is blue.
-
I'm still not sure what you were going for with all that Depressis, other than you seemed hostile about answers you were given. Why would it bother you that two people said, "$7 because you can buy the damn thing at a store", when the question you asked was just one of value like I said in my last post?
In my travels, the only people who whip out Toy Fare for its "value guide" are scalpers. I have a Toy Show coming up and I guarantee someone pulls that rag out of his pocket to negotiate price with me (or someone else) at some point in the day. To me that's every reason to ignore it. Like Dale said, it's a blight on the hobby because it influences people to think they can milk more out of something than they actually can. Just like AFA (great analogy by the way Dale).
But anyway, I don't understand why when you got answers on your question you got angry about it and decided to question the people who answered you.
-
oh and to prove a point : the sky is blue.
What color is the sky at night?
Point taken. ;)
-
Who knew that we'd be getting sick of seeing these waves? At least I am.
-
In my area its only Arena Padme, the rest are still very hard to find.
-
These have been restocked at some of the Targets in my area. :-\
-
Just mentioning that someone went through a lot of trouble to make some fraudulent returns at a local walmart. Of the two I saw, one was a SBD where the returner took the time to photoshop or take a standard SBD image and place it over the camo SBD image on a Kashyyyk SBD so he could return a standard SBD, and on the other, it was a K-Mart 501st clone in a Appo package. Both had swapped out UPC's. I was almost tempted to pick up the 501st.
-
Now to me, going through that much trouble to scam a couple figures seems like way more effort than it's worth. Then again, I guess when you live in Mom's basement and don't have a job to pay for figures you have a lot of free time to waste on that ****. ::)
