Friend of mine texted me he found the Deluxe sets at a Target across town this morning and stashed one for me. But when I got there to snag it, there was nothing.  :(

As a prideful collector it's hard to let that kind of karmic slap go quietly, so I trekked out to a remote Target way off my usual beaten path immediately afterwards and was able to get them to pull one for me from the back. Thank you, Toy Gods!  :D

Looking forward to opening this up tonight, I already cleared space on a new dedicated shelf in anticipation.

The Black Series 6" Figures / Re: 6" Black Series Deluxe Line

Nice, I was finally able to snag the Speeder Bike set at Target today. Nothing on the shelf but for a chance the little price scanner computer said Store Room: YES. I waited in line for the CS associate (hate the Targets where these double as checkouts now) and she was able to get one pulled from the back for me. Success!

Have not opened him yet but am already concerned about "Bent Visor-Gate", as mine seems to suffer from this new affliction.

As of this morning 3 of our local Targets were suddenly showing this DPCI in stock (count of 3) so I hit 2 of them on the way home and neither could find them in the store room. Odd. At least one of the places confirmed they are planning to do a reset next week so maybe then.  :(

Oh man, that is not even funny. I would have been irate!

I'm looking forward to hitting the IMAX for this, should be epic.

Picked up another 6" Boba Fett @ TRU this morning, got them to price match the $17.99 online price. Looks like they got more of Wave 2 though, not Wave 4. No sign of anything else new there.

Just got back, totally lived up to expectations, funnest movie I've seen in a long time. Cast was excellent, as well as the soundtrack. I hope this is a smash home run for them.

It seemed like everyone at my showing was sort of mystified by the odd post-credits scene but it seemed pretty in line with the overall tenor of the film IMO. Never takes itself too seriously...

Can't wait to see it again!

Wasn't planning to bite, but I couldn't resist a 31" Shock Trooper from Target today for $15.

Vintage Kenner / Re: History of vinyl cape Jawa

I swear I had one of these as a kid...I vividly remember having problems getting the cape on and off with those tiny arm holes. It was not among the figures that survived to my adulthood though.

I was happy enough to add one to my collection a few years ago though.

Now I just need that Lili Ledy guy with the removable hood...sigh.

Got my SDCC exclusive Jaeger set in the mail yesterday from NECA. Not surprisingly, it is completely awesome. Beautifully packaged. The visors even glow in the dark!

Allegedly this wave is showing up at Target now, but I'll believe it when I see it.

The order time for the base was extended 5 days.  So now more time to mull one over.  Ugh.

I should have mine this week Jesse, I'll be sure to break it open and provide a full report on the awesomeness!  :)

I was surprised and excited to find the Shane with Baseball Cap TV redux figure today at my local comic shop. No other figures, just him, but I was able to pick from 4 so I got one with nice paint apps.

I have no idea what sort of traditional stores might carry these...Walgreen's maybe?

Glad to have this though, I basically decided last night that I am only going to focus on the TV figures going forward, so this seems like a nice unspoken validation of that choice. (Collector logic)

Happy hunting!

I got my tickets for the Thursday night show - officially excited!

I decided I'm going to try and hit the trifecta with this flick like I did with Pacific Rim: 2D, 3D, IMAX.

Middle Earth / Re: The Hobbit - Toy Line

Apparently they posted something on Facebook to the effect that they were regretful about not making it out to SDCC this year but to look out for some kind of announcement about the Smaug set later this year.  ::)

There has been a lot of online venom spewed at TBD, and while I certainly understand it, I'm not ready to pile on just yet and declare the line totally dead. I guess I just hate the thought of what could have been...

The fact that they have Beorn, The Bard, and the rest of the Dwarves already sculpted makes me think these could still make it out some way, in some form one day.
