I didn't see a topic thread for this already, so I apologize if there is one. I was just looking at pics of the upcoming LEGO Death Star (http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=18771&hl=) at the eurobricks forums, and wow, that is pretty spiffy. I'm not a Lego collector personally (can't afford to keep up), but this really does look nice.

I no longer collect LEGO due to space and monetary issues but this does look worthy of a purchase. If it's within a reasonable price range, I'm in.
-
Awesome. I can't wait to buy this. Wonder when it's coming out?
-
Supposed to be able to preorder on 7/1 and it ship around 9/1. $400 seems to be the pricepoint, which is way too rich for my blood, but that is one sweet looking set.
-
Wow, if there's one set to have - this would be it.
Thanks for the pics Brian.

Up for preorder (http://shop.lego.com/product/?p=10188&LangId=2057&ShipTo=US) now, actually.
The set itself is awesome, but what's with the wrong colored hands on some of the minifigs? Come on LEGO, if I'm paying $400 for something, I want accurate colors.

Wow! This thing looks ultra cool. I'd love to get one just to put it together.
-
Does the pricing seem out of whack?
The set measures 16" x 16" - just seems like it's 2X what it should be in regards to the price.
Then again, the only sets we have are the $10 ones so who am I to judge?
-
Any word on the piece count? $400 price tag points at about 4000, is that right?

Damn...I actually want this set, but that's WAY to much money.

$400 for Dianoga mini-fig? Schweeet!

These are available now on LEGO.com. Sounds like people that pre-ordered are getting charged already.

Acutally stopped in at the LEGO store a week or two ago and ordered one... just showed up at my door last night. Now I just gotta see if it'll fit into my Detolf case so I can display under the DS II :P
Based on the dimensions, it's gonna be a tight fit and I may need to make some... special modifications...

Ugh... I'm almost done with the bottom section but noticed that they booklet has a repeat of steps 62-72 instead of 73-83!
Doh!

That sucks...oddly enough I had the same problem with the UCS Death Star set where they repeated several pages. Just call Lego and they'll send you a new instruction booklet.

Interesting, Hasbro must keep in mind Lego DS for a larger playset, like an update of vintage death star.
Nice distribution, both scenes from anh and rotj.

Yeah... I can't wait to finish this one. LEGO sent me a link where I could DL the pdf of the rules... just got through the missing pages last night. I just wish it would fit in my Detolf case.... there's a minute chance but the listed dimensions aren't encouraging for it.
