Title: more speeder bikes
Post by: jokabofe on November 16, 2003, 07:47 PM
finally got my hands on the dooku and anakin speeders, and gave them my plastic stand treatment. i also changed the anakin "holy crap!!" face to another, better anakin head - clone wars. i think that's the best anakin head so far, and it seems to look good on this body. for some reason when i boiled and popped the anakin speeder bike body, the paint faded on his tunic. so i had to repaint that part black.

and then i took a quick shot of the bikes i've done so far all lined up in my bookcase/display area:

Great work there!  How exactly do you pose the Clone Trooper on the bike?  Mine constantly falls off of it.

well, he's just kinda balancing on there... having his one hand on the handlebar helps a little. someone (jesse james i think) made a suggestion of using those small clear rubber bands that some of the figures come with to hold his feet onto the pedals, which i thought was a great idea, and would also have helped keep him on the bike... but it didn't work. his legs won't bend low enough and the pedals can't come up high enough to reach   :(

so my quest continues, to find a way to make that damn clonetrooper look good on that bike...

I bet the new Super Articulated Clone Trooper would look great on there.

well, after i thought about it, and i kept looking at it, it was starting to really piss me off that his feet weren't touching. so i just got fed up and super glued 'em on. ha! that'll fix 'em.... of course, now he can't get off his bike... even if he wanted to.

hey joka, good idea with the stands, might I suggest though using hot glue from a hot glue gun (yeah that wasn't redundant...  :P) for the stands as well as the clonetrooper's feet. The glue will stick, but can easily be peeled off without causing damage to the plastic.

Those stands look great!! Hasbro should have made some of those to begin with. They made stands for the 12"  speeder bikes.
