30th Anniversary Collection / Re: Anyone else losing interest?
« on: October 4, 2006, 01:55 PM »
Sideshow has gotten most of my money.

Same here. There is alot I like about the 3/3/4 style but for my money I would rather have one ultimate version of each character than 40 Lukes that range from near misses to all out junk. I've actually started getting the ships and setting up a few basic figures in a dio centered around the ship. The ships take up so much space that it almost forces you to curb the collecting.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: TRU Exclusive Dagobah X-Wing
« on: September 20, 2006, 09:08 AM »
I got this bad boy yesterday. Totally worth it. I missed out on the original exclusive dagobah X-wing (the only one I had was the POTF one) so this was a great find. It looks great with my Dagobah playset from back in the day. :)

Hemble- Yeah, I think Hasbro really does have some great sculptors that aren't always consistent throughout the figure. Sometimes you get a great face and a mediocre body or vice versa.

BrentS- The simple ones are always fun because they are done so fast! :)

Commander Miseria- Thanks!

Glassman- Thanks, he was one of my favorite's too. it's really a wonder we haven't gotten more figures of him. I'm hoping for a Luke Skywalker's evolutions set to be coming down the pike soon so here's hoping :)

Tyrazken- I left the action feature in since it didn't really hinder anything

Chewie- Thanks man, Most of the characters I'm interested in really good versions of are OT characters.

I really like that Qui-gon and I agree that it's about time someone pulled it off. Very nice work!

So I kept looking at my Dagobah Luke. The more I looked at him the less I liked him :-\ So I decided to go with my original plan from months ago and make a Bespin Luke instead.

I love this pic because it reminds me of when he's walking into the cave on Dagobah

Pretty simple recipe. He's a Saga Bespin Luke with a Saga Dagobah Luke head. Dagobah Luke's head was cut off at the neck (to preserve articulation) and then inserted into the collar piece of the Bespin Luke. The cool thing about this one is that he now has an alternate tourniquet hand (or lack thereof) and an alternate head so you can do this famous scene...

I'm very happy with him now, I'm calling this one done. :)

I tried to post this earlier but the computer was fighting me for some reason. Games workshop makes white spray on primer which works very well for plastics. I used them to repaint a couple of evolutions sand troopers and it worked out great. I use their spray primer for any project that uses alot of white (I also used them for a Captain Britain I did a while back). You should be able to buy a can at the Games Workshop store at the mall. The cans are usually under the shelf with the smaller paints. If you don't have access to one you might be able to get the spray primer from their website  GamesWorkshopsite I hope this helps, they have gray spray primer as well as white.

Hmmm I might have to pick this up. SW comics are generally so hit or miss that I usually just avoid them all together. But it's good to hear a good review for some of the new stuff, it gives me hope for the upcoming Legacy books.
