More Evolutions Please!
« on: February 15, 2006, 10:57 AM »
Dear Hasbro,

One thing that really diappointed me about Toy Fair 2006 was that there were no new Evolution Sets shown.  I know that you said "we aren't planning any more", but after they sold so well and got such great fan response (just look at our Evolutions Thread - it's 56 pages of rave reviews!), I thought you'd eventually see the light.

There are so many great Star Wars characters from the Prequel Trilogy that deserve their own Evolutions set:

Obi-Wan Kenobi -
SA Epiosde 3 Jedi Padawan
SA Episode 2 Jedi Knight
SA Episode 3 Jedi Master

Padme/Amidala -
SA Episode 1 Padme Naberrie (w/Pod Race Screen)
SA Episode 2 Padme Amidala (Pick any one of the many costumes you skipped)
SA Episode 3 Padme Amidala (Pick any one of the many costumes you skipped)

Even our favorite Protocol Droid would be nice -
SA Episode 1 C-3PO (Exposed)
SA Episode 2 C-3PO (Silver/Gray)
SA Episode 3 C-3PO (Gold)

I could go on and on with the examples.  Maybe the Evolutions Sets can be the Prequel Trilogy's thing?  You know how the Original Trilogy gets the "Vintage" throwback line to give us highly articulated sculpts of classic OT characters?  Well, the Evolutions Sets could give us highly articulated sculpts of the Prequel characters!

Just something to think about as you get ready for Toy Fair 2007...

Your Pal,
Jeff

I second this...

My most desired Evolutions Sets have been:

-Rebel Troopers...  A SA Fleet Trooper, SA Hoth Soldier, and SA Endor Soldier would make for a great evolution of the Alliance Soldier as we see in the Classic Trilogy...  I'm even all for sculpted vest on the Fleet Trooper if it saves on softgoods costs, just so long as they're 3 heavily articulated figures with neutral sculpts.

-Imperail Troopers...  A set with an SA Stormtrooper (or Death Star Trooper), SA Snowtrooper, and an SA Scout Trooper...  Simply perfect if you ask me.

-Clone Trooper...  SA White AOTC Clone Trooper...  SA ROTS Clone Trooper...  SA ARC Trooper...  I think it'd be cool to just have another good Clone set out there.  The Evolutions sets were tough to find for most of us I think.

To me, the $20 pricepoint was ideal for army building...  The Evolutions sets were a hit in a MAJOR way.  Put more out, and if you can get 3 army builders in one pack like that it's a great way to get a good army going fairly quickly for a fair price.

I'm all for this, I hope Hasbro's listening in up there in Pawtucket.

Hell the clone set could even be repack/slight retools of the first sets or CW and ROTS versions with removable helmets. The have a Red Arc now, just give him a rangefinder and a removable helmet and bam, you've got one hell of a set.

For the Imperials repack the VOTC Stormtrooper and the SA Scout Trooper, All they'd have to make is one figure, they already have a headsculpt they can use too.

The Rebel set is the only one that would take any real work on their part, and it would sell very well.

The first clone set never sat more than a week, neither did the Sith for that matter. The Anakin set moved very well too. These things sell. There is no good reason not to make these sets, really.

Luke's Jedi progression
tatooine luke
dagobah luke
luke jedi master(EU)

I agree with the rest of the sets as well, except for maybe the Yoda and Maul set. Yoda's costume doesn't change much between 2 and 3 and I'm fairly happy with the Maul we got already. I might change that Dagobah Luke to a Bespin Luke because I think we need that version a little bit more.

I'll buy 2 of each, as long as they aren't exclusive to some online e-tailer.

Does Passel Argente really need SA? I think not.

Yep, because we all remember that EU novel were Passel roundhousekicked an entire battalion of Clone Troops, then did a backflip and escaped on a jetpack.

The Evolutions line was great, I think they could make a Jawa evolution pack and I'd buy it in a heart beat.

i like that idea, but how exactly did jawas evolve? just a question.

i'd love an evolutions padme:

FROM EPISODE 1: either tatooine padme, or a new battle padme
FROM EPISODE 2: either shirt ripped arena padme, or refugee padme
FROM EPISODE 3: either Funeral Padme, buns padme, or purple 'with thunderous applause' padme.  8)

as for you, HOTP, maybe i just like passel argente and see an evolution there. and usually, just to let you know, in an 'evolution's set, the figs are SA.  ;)
