Title: look what i just bought on ebay...
Post by: lumat on December 20, 2006, 11:06 AM
It was wayyy more money then my wife knows about, but bah, whatever

I am hoping to have it delivered sometime before the end of january....as it is not from the USA
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220059914711&indexURL=7#ebayphotohosting

It is a lifesize wicket. as you may or may not have guessed i am an ewok fanatic.
it was close to 5 bills after the express shipping and insurance.

i looked closely at the pictures, and it looks like the best replica i have seen in many years. A few years ago, i saw someone that made custom ones, where you choose the fur color, which weapon, which hat, etc. and it was close to the same price, but they werent as detailed. To this day i wish i had bought one, so when i saw this one i was very excited and did the buy it now because it was only 20 more the opening price. worth it for the peace of mind since these dont come around often.

Its funny too because before i saw this, i was telling my wife how i saw one many years ago and that i still wished i got it....then this popped up, i dont think she believed me when i said i really hadnt seen it prior to talking with her

when it does arrive, i will take better pics of it. Eventually i want the chirpa, but with xmas less then 1 week away, i spend the rest of my loot on my wife...see she cant be mad for me spending 5 bills on this, when i spent a whole s load of loot on her (i hope she doesnt get mad i mean)

I have spent more then this on carded figures in the past, which i eventually sold due to an emergency. I figured i would rather have this one awesome thing more then 8 carded ewoks.

well i hope you like it

Wow, I like Chirpa. His Logray and Teebo (http://threads.rebelscum.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=2205573&page=1&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1#2205573) are incredible. Nice score. 8)

I've bought a few of the yodas from him before for myself and friends, he seems to change his ebay i.d all the time i'm guessing he gets banned because of copyright issues.
They where usually always very good I did have a problem with the paint apps on one but he was great about that and sent me a replacement and said I could keep the faulty one if I paid postage for the replacment.
Be sure to post some pics!

Edit heres a ppic of a Yoda I bought from them:

From the Auction description...

You can put the Wicket in the position that you want.

Lumat, remember, this is NOT a realdoll. ;)

Nice pickup!  I'd recommend looking into ways of conserving the latex parts of the costume.  From what I've read, there have been problems with original Star Wars & Alien costumes deteriorating over time.

And to the unmarried guys out there - wife & kids trumps Star Wars anytime.

The articulation on these thing is pretty good, as you can see from the little Yoda animation I made with mine.
I'd be carfeul though as one of the flexible metal poles inside my Yoda came out of the foot and I had to cut it open and reglue it. Luckily for me the cut wasnt noticeable as the trousers covered it.

Hell no! and never will be. I've got a little too much, as they say "game" and am having too much damn fun tasting all the different flavors I can.
at the end of the day its cheaper to just get a maid to cook and clean your house a couple times a week.
atleast she leaves at the end of the day and you don't have to hear all the nagging/whining/complaining about how much money you're spending on stuff you like.
and when the maids ass grows too fat to fit in the front door you just fire her and get a new one!  ;D
