Aside from Galoob's Action Fleet and Micromachines, my collection has narrowed strictly to Star Wars 3.75". It can be summed up to, "What can a toy do for my SW 3.75" hobby?" I've picked up a few Hiya Aliens/Predator figs, but only so they can be incorporated in SW dioramas; eg, the Aliens astronauts as patrons for the upcoming Haslab cantina. I have a few dinosaurs from Mattel's Jurassic lines so I can modify them for SW pieces.

I've picked up a few Marvel Legends and SW Black series because I'm curios about how they've been designed, but then they get put away and not displayed

I did grab the Yoda starfighter from Jazzwares because I like the design and can only dream if Hasbro made one for TVC.

Same old, same old for me in 2024 looks like.

1) Star Wars Black Series - still trying to maintain a complete collection but those @#$&* Holocomm figures are really pushing it.

2) Super 7 ReAction & Ultimates - still trying to be selective with these, but I’m all in on their Godzilla stuff in any scale.

3) The Ghost - Hopefully by this time next year I will have this in hand!  :)

That’s it, unless NECA does any more figures from The Thing. Will probably pick up some Marvel Legends here and there if they do any more classic FF characters. Will likely buy more Jurassic Park stuff on clearance too since I can’t seem to quit that line cold turkey.

Mine is pretty much the same as last year, except for having the Ghost now.  ;D

My collecting habits have evolved a lot over the past few years. I pretty much buy everything new online now. I stopped preordering every figure as soon as it became available. I started playing the waiting game with more stuff and 9 times out of 10 it paid off with cheaper prices. So that’s my goal again for this year.

I think 2023 has been a turning point for me.  My interest in Hasbro's offerings in TVC has declined (mostly due to their lack of effort) and I'm kind of ready to quit altogether.  On the other hand, I feel GI Joe Classified has been more interesting, though I only get what I'm interested in.

My list for 2024 is:
TVC: Lack of interest is having me lean towards quitting. Will pick up a few that interest me. Would like to hook up with a local to get cardbacks though.
TBS: Out
NECA Universal Monsters: They've covered those I'm interested in, but if they give me a Phantom of the Opera Red Death costume or an accessory pack, I will pick it up.
GI Joe Classified: Have more interest in these, but will pick and choose characters I like.
Transformers: I think I have those that I want.

TVC: Just grabbing OT stuff
TBS: Just grabbing OT stuff
NECA Universal Monsters: I think I've got the ones I'm interested in, and they slowed down on the Universal stuff (doing Hammer now).  Still waiting on a Phantom of the Opera Red Death costume or an accessory pack,
GI Joe Classified: Have more interest in these, but will pick and choose characters I like.
Transformers: Will pick and choose

I haven't updated my list in a while... here's my plan for 2025:

TVC 3.75" - I have finally reached the "it's OK to skip new things if you don't really care" phase.  I skipped a few "all-new" figures last year (like Ahsoka Holo Ezra) and seem to be fine having "holes" in my figure collection.  I will continue to thin out the herd and sell off some older figure sculpts and vehicles at toy sales this summer.  Might be finally ready to let go of some of the non movie/TV Stuff.

That's pretty much it.  Sometimes I can't believe how little I buy these days - no more BS6"; no more DC, Marvel, GI Joe, Indy; no more LEGO.  I guess I do pick up the occasional odd 3.75" figure here or there (last year I bought the ReAction Oscar the Grouch to use as a trash can in my Cantina  :D), but nothing like in years past.

2025 Plan - Similar to previous years, narrowing the collection but at the same time enjoying all the goodness that is releasing these days. I’m kind of in conflict with myself where there are so many great things coming out that catch my eye, but at the same time I’m hitting a point in my life where I just don’t want so much “stuff” around. I still very much enjoy collecting, but as I’ve been spending time going through all my totes over the past year I’m really getting the “whoa, why do I have so much?” feeling. There are certain things I’ll always hold onto (like TVC and Marvel Legends), but part of me considers just having a sampling of my other interests and trying to keep it down to just a tote or two. We’ll see.

Star Wars TVC - Continuing on, but not complete. Pretty much all OT stuff, pick and choose with the rest.

Marvel Legends - Trying to be more selective. Has sort of become my primary line the last few years, but I only display a sliver of it.

Lines I’m Wrapping Up - Should be about done with any Transformers aside from the upcoming Constructicons. Devastator is something I always wanted as a kid. That should be about it. I’ve become way more selective with Joe Classified, and I think there are just a handful of characters left that I’m interested in. I do enjoy the retro releases though. Masters of the Universe seems to be winding down for me, great stuff here as well but I’ve primarily been sticking to the “Cartoon Collection” releases. Black Series extremely selective at this point (I got the new Luke/Leia)

New Stuff I’m Watching - NECA Sesame Street (looks amazing), Jada Scooby Doo and Cereal/Food Mascots, some Ninja Turtles stuff (there’s so much), or just oddball things here and there. Sometimes I’ll pick up a random Mafex or Figuarts figure, and they are very nice. I kind of have a loose goal of getting my first Hot Toys figure this year, if the budget allows.

2025 will likely be pretty similar to 2021-2024 for me:

We are still in a bit of a holding pattern with my WFH office/collection room renovation. I've considered my current space just a temporary collection room, but it has been "temporary" for five years now. There's a chance it will still change this year as we are talking about a significant home renovation or moving. (It is crazy that a collection room can be a deciding factor for a house...) Space is running out in my room as is, and I have 80% of my collection in storage and just rotate out my displays.

Star Wars 3.75" --

This is still far and away the primary focus of my collection. I mostly focus on TVC & the newer modern lines. I am one of the absolute rubes who Hasbro has suckered into collecting BOTH LOOSE & CARDED. Loose is my main focus but a few years ago I needed a backdrop for my Zoom meetings and had some unopened TVC figures lying around, so I threw them on the wall and then it just kind of stuck. I still have some older pre-TVC carded figures, but I probably will get rid of most of those and stick to just the TVC cards & a few select items from older lines (like the TAC McQuarrie figures).

For the Hasbro line I generally do 1 of each figure loose & carded and I still army-build. I am currently backfilling my TVC 1.0 carded collection and try to pick up about 1-2 older figures per month when I see them for a reasonable price. I do not care about minor variants but do try to grab the MAJOR ones for each VC#. There are also some older modern-era figures that I either missed when they came out or got rid of that I have been picking up as I see them.

I'm sure at some point the space required & money involved will make me reevaluate all of this, but I am not there yet.

Star Wars Other Lines --

I occasionally pick up The Black Series 6", TBS Helmets, HotToys, & Tamashi Nations samauri figures but am generally very selective and only grab it if I love it and have a place to display it, generally no more than 3-4 total pieces a year from all of those lines combined.

Game of Thrones & House of the Dragon Funko Pops --

Funko hasn't been making quite as many of these in the last few years, and I mostly still collect the line, but the vast majority of it is in storage. I used to be a completionist outside of some of the rarest chases versions. I have most of the common pops, and theoretically just need some of the rare and chase variants, but I haven't felt motivated to track them down or spend the bigger bucks on them. I will likely continue to pick up commons on these but I have slowed down drastically in the past few years on these. Since most of these are currently in storage, I have been seriously considering how much longer I want to keep collecting this line and have considered selling it off.

LEGO --

While I still very much wantto collect all of the LOTR, SW, classic Castle & Pirate sets, and the collectible Mini-Figs, I just don't have the space (or $). Most of my Lego are in currently in storage and I don't have room to build or display any of it. I may pick up some sets here and there if I really can't resist, and may try to grab Rivendell & Barad-dûr before the sets get retired, but it is more likely that I won't pick up any this year.

Jazzwares "World of Halo" --

I found a few of these at Ross in the last year and really like them. Given that the line isn't too large I may track down a few more figures from the line for a small diorama/display, but due to limited space, it won't be too many more.

Other Lines --

Outside of all the above, I will occasionally pick up some SW/Marvel/random Pops or other random items if something really catches my eye, but I am generally pretty selective. Given that space is running out that will likely continue.
