Yay!  I just got my email that my Waiting list order for Aayla become an honest to force REAL order!

 ;D

I've been trying to cut back on picking up every SS 12" but i ended up ordering this one. I'm going to SDCC and i figured i might regret it after seeing it in person. lol. Also if they ever make a Vos i would really regret not having Aayla.

If you get there and DON'T by some miracle like it, I'll be happy to buy it from you- I was at the beach and totally missed out on this one!   ;D

The Legacy Collection / Re: TLC Millenium Falcon Upgrade

And here I was thinking I'd use my GW gift to get the LEGO Falcon....  no WAY i'd be able to display BOTH of them...

Grrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!

Just got mine today and am at least glad that the face sculpt is better than the proto photos.   I haven't taken her out of her cage yet, but it's fairly obvious that she far too tall and much too lanky.   I have a shelf in one of my Detolf's with my Qui-Gon pimp set up...   Qui-Gon from the Amidala Collection with all of the hasblo 12" female figures and SnowBunny will probably end up in there (though it IS getting kinda crowded in there).   He's supposed to be 1.93m and Padme a mere 1.65 and I just don't see him towering over her that way.. with either the Hasblo or the SSC Qui-Gon.

30th Anniversary Collection / Re: 2008 Wave 1 - Revenge of the Sith

But see, I don't think there's a real difference between a ROTS-era 2-1B droid and an ESB-era 2-1B droid.  Cars change over the years, but droids in the SW galaxy?  There are minor differences (color, detailing) between both eras of 2-1B, sure, but for there to be what seems like a big height discrepency?

Of course, according to the SW database, 2-1B is supposed to stand about 4 1/2 feet tall.  Didn't seem that short in either movie (ROTS or ESB).

I may have totally missed it and if so I apologize... but:

"Aren't you a little short for a 21-B droid?"

I got my set today and it is very cool. I think one of my favorites from sideshow.

Does each figure have it's own stand?

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: G.I. Joe - The Movie (Live Action)

IGN has an article up summarizing the casting news so far, as well as some speculation on the movie.  Some of the case looks pretty good, some doesn't to me, but I'm really hoping this will be a "fun" movie like I found Transformers to be.  I'd still rather see someone like Duke or Flint running things though, so I hope the Ripcord thing is a rumor.  More info at the link.

I love how they put the Baroness comic image up next to Sienna Miller... but didn't for Wayans.....

Or for Scarlett.  Or for Storm Shadow.

BFD.   ::)

They look the part... Wayans as RipCord just doesn't.

Just another quick vote for Juno as film of the year.  I was not overly excited to go see this, but it was absolutely fantastic.  Surprisingly funny and very emotional - it was put together perfectly.  Highly recommended!

I agree.   I wasn't expecting much out of it either and was totally surprised with the movie!  A great satire of a romantic comedy.... superb characters, story, music... it's all there.   Go see it!

Other Collectibles / Re: Master Replicas SW Poker Chip Set!
« on: January 24, 2008, 08:58 AM »
SWS.com has the Star Wars Poker Chip Set by Cartamundi instock for $149.99 US.

Damn. That is one impressive set. :o

If I actually played poker more I would absolutely HAVE to have that. As it is I may have to try to track one down slightly cheaper on eBay. I love that light up feature.

Honestly.. it's "OK".   I applaud Cartamundi for getting this out but there are a few things that I think suck immensely:
1.  Three colors of chips but 4 characters....   that's just stupid
2.  The nice LED case that they come in doesn't have a FRICKIN HANDLE!!!   WTF?
3.  Artwork is kinda dumb imho... like pasted on stickers in the middle of the chip.

All this can be yours if the price is right.... or wrong in my case since I pre-ordered it at CIV....
I'm not unhappy that I got it... I just wish it felt more like it was worth the $150+ tax I paid for it

I totally liked Robot Chicken better..... Blue Harvest just seemed like SW with Family Guy actors and some humor.   The Robot Chicken showed some true evil genius and creativity!

Jocasta's Reading Room / Re: Darth Bane Novel
« on: January 23, 2008, 12:01 PM »
Has anyone read the 2nd Bane book? I did and I think they easily could have called it Darth Zannah instead of Bane. I wanted to learn about his apprentice but still more about him than I felt the book did. If they were going to concentrate on a different Darth so much why not do the Plagueis book like they were originally.

Yup... I can see your point.   I hope they go back to the Plagueis book sometime too... so much cool stuff to explore!

Ripcord

I still don't get this....    Ripcord was featured in a few of the comics but nothing like Stalker, Duke, or Flint.....

The Vintage Collection / Re: Hasbro Q&A Sessions

What totally threw me this QnA is when discussing vehicle types in terms of what Hasblo won't do:

"do not have an inspiring design (Dooku's Solar Sailor)"

I personally thought Dooku's ship was an AWESEOME design and QUITE inspired.
But that's just me......

Yeah the price jumps have been ridiculous, and its not just with the Star Wars line. The Hobbits are over 70.00 each. I am already not a completist with this line so it doesnt hurt me too much to skip a figure. I may get rid of my Bespin Luke and stick with the other 3. The only other Han i can see myself picking is a carbonite version. I never liked the Hasbro one.

I wouldn't want them to do a new Han for just the carbonite... the ESB Han should work fine... maybe just a carbonite block with an alternate head and hands?    Hasbro's first carbonite block isn't too bad... I don't like the "glowy" one

I just wish they would have thrown in the Blast Shield helmet.  But all in all it's looks great IMO.

Yes!   That would be awesome!  Just what we needed to go with Obi's training remote!    Not to mention my Robot Chicken scene!    Hmmm... I wonder if the Hasblo one will fit.....

Ooops! Missed my 1pm but was thankfully able to snag the exclusive at 1:15.   Smooth process for sure... I wonder if no one's bothering to order these anymore?
