That Captain Rex is pretty ******* awesome. The Pilot Luke is great too, but I obviously already have him. Still, I'm glad they're re-releasing figures to bring in new fans.

Ordered. I missed out on this Luke originally and he is currently still going for $50+ on Amazon/eBay, I think he was as good a choice as any for a repack. I grabbed a few to open and one more for the updated card.

I agree, Rex looks ******* great. He's one of my favorite characters, so I also grabbed a few to replace the old ones. in my displays.

The R2 has got to be strictly for carded collectors. I have 6 or so "clean" BAD Artoos from when they sold him in the TLJ ForceLink line ( that I got for 3 bucks each I think at an outlet store) and those came with leg rocket accessories. I have no need for this rerelease.

Evidently Walmart had R2-D2 listed for $9.97, and that led Amazon to follow suit.  So the preorder price guarantee kicked in, and Amazon lowered the price.  I know that I appreciate it.

As for the state of R2-D2?  I agree that this release seems to cater specifically to carded collectors.  There's nothing appreciably new here.  I've seen some calls for Hasbro take on updating R2-D2 for The Vintage Collection much in the same way they did with the Black Series.  It could be a worthwhile pursuit since astromech droids can offer some sculpting value for future repaints.  But Hasbro seems to be trying to stretch every asset they have in order to keep their costs low.  As a result I think the BAD astromech body is going to be in circulation for the time being.
