Just one.  I may get another when (and if) they go on clearance.

Other Toy Lines / Buffy / Angel Figure Lines Cancelled
« on: July 4, 2003, 04:25 PM »

Anyone else UPSET?  I don't know whether to be angry or elated.  MAC has mismanaged this license so poorly that cancelling it may be seen as a mercy killing.  A cursory glance of their forums will show you they never encountered the words 'public' and 'relations' in the same sentence.  I'm upset that the Willow figures I've been looking forward to are doomed.  And Tara, and Anya, and...

I really hope someone else picks up this license when it expires, and does this property justice.

I love it.  I loved it before I went to Dublin for a summer and tried to track down all the places in the movie, which was hard, because they were mostly neighborhoods.  I did ride the DART though.   ;D

Saga '02-'04 / Re: New Hoth 4-pack!

I really like it.  These are all figures (with the exception of Luke) that could use some retooling, but nothing to warrant a resculpt (Chewie and Leia).  Hoth Luke however needs redone head to toe, like Hoth Han.

Looking forward to this one.

Rick updated tonight to say he got a very small supply of Wave 13/15 and expects more next week.  Can't wait.

I'm really looking forward to it myself.  TheOneRing.net is saying the preview trailer may be in front of T3, so that ought to get everybody going again.

The lightsabers don't bother me too much, either.  I have so many extras lying around that if I wanted to give them one, it'd be no problem.

I preordered from Rick also.  It seems some 'other' e-tailers are just getting these in, so maybe it won't be so long for Rick to get his.   ;D

HMI is going to LA?  For film and writing?  We have more in common than I thought!   ;D

I still love the toy run, too.  And with all the great stuff that's happening in action figures these days, the aisles have never looked better.  I do wish there were more SW stuff out there, though...

I preorder everything now.  I'm not willing to take a chance at retail until things clear up.  Around here it's a waste land for SW.  I get most of my stuff from Newforce.

I've always been more into Marvel as well, on the superhero end of it.  Most of what I read comes from Vertigo.  Those are some of the best comics out there.  The only superhero titles I read are Ultimate Spidey and Jim Lee's Batman.

I voted for Riekken too, but this is a nice figure.  I'm glad we're getting him, but not over a figure like Riekken.  I'm sure we'll get that figure eventually anyhow.  The CS looks nice.  I think my favorite bit is the shield.  If the Stormies on Endor had some of those, they may have been able to deflect a couple rocks thrown their way.   ;)

Hasbro has fulfilled a long held dream by completeing the E1 Jedi Council.  These are fantastic figures.  It's a crime distribution sucks right now, because these are some of the best work Hasbro has ever done.  I just hope these make it to the shelves.  Me, I'm not going to wait.  The second they go up for preorder at NewForce, they're mine.

I'm a longtime comic reader myself who also took a 'breather' in the 90's mostly because I was poor.  I always kept an eye on comics and started reading them again in 2001.  I'd also definitely recommend Ultimate Spider-Man, which one of the two best superhero titles out there, the other being Batman.
