Watto's Junk Yard / Digital Cable Modem
« on: June 13, 2004, 11:14 PM »
For those of you who have Comcast or other Cable Digital Cable Modems do you have this problem?

When I turn on my computer the connection is there straight away. But then after ten to fifteen minutes the connection is gone. But then after a few seconds it is there again. This repeats over and over every time.

I have called my cable company and they have told me that the signal is strong. They even had a tech come to the house and check everything out. It is all good. I even replace my modem but still have the same problem.

I thought the connection is always susposed to be there 24hrs a day.

Any suggestions?

Please Help!

Watto's Junk Yard / TROY
« on: May 16, 2004, 04:08 PM »
Well today I went and saw TROY. Based on Homer's Illiad. Not a bad movie for 2 hours and 43 minutes. The fighting is done well. The story is the same old Troy story. Overall I liked it.

The girls will like this... You get some really nice shots of Brad Pit naked.  :o
and there are some less exposed shots of the women for the guys.  ::)  But that is not the reason to go see this movie. The reason is to see the TROY story told again from another directors view. I liked it. Would not buy it on DVD but it is worth seeing at least once.

Orlando Bloom has some of his Legolas moves with the Bow. Go elf go!

If you saw this movie what did you think?

In case you missed it. Go to http://lucasarts.com/ and click on Battlefront.
The little box says that a playable X-Box demo of the game will be packaged with the Star Wars Trilogy DVD set.

Pretty cool.

Watto's Junk Yard / I am out of here for about ten days.
« on: April 20, 2004, 07:38 PM »
To all my friends at Jedi Defender:
Just to let everyone know I will not be posting on the forums for at least the next week up to two weeks.  :(

Today I went to Sports Medicine to get my knee checked out again.
In the bone itself I have an infection that is not going away. The bone has become brittle and has actually cracked near the joint. A small bone fragment is floating around in the joint.

On Friday (4-23-04) they are going to go in a drill out part of the bone to remove the infected area and remove the bone fragment. It will then be filled and repaired. I have already been told that I will be spending at least 24 hours at the hospital for observation of infection. The healing process will be several weeks with physical therapy after.

Well my friends I will see you when I can.

Until then Happy Hunting!

Toy Reviews / Star Destroyer Wave - :(
« on: April 1, 2004, 12:43 PM »
Today I picked up the Star Destroyer wave at Wal-Mart

Admiral Ozzel
Admiral Ozzel is sickly looking. I do not really care for the head sculpt at all.

Articulation is more than the standard.
The Sculpting on the outfit is nicely done but I do not like the thin sickly head.

Bossk
This could of been a great figure.  Bossk seems to be underweight. I like the first POTF2 version better. Though this version has more articulation.

Dengar
The best figure of the wave in my opinion. Nice details and sculpting job. Lots of color. I like this figure.

Well, this wave is out and in my opinion not one of the better waves of 2004.

Site Feedback, Suggestions, and Help / Can you limit profiles?
« on: March 11, 2004, 09:42 PM »
I have a question. Is it possible to limit the number of profiles a person can have on Jedi Defender? I ask this because I have seen lots of people here (or maybe it is just one person who is doing this) who just want to fly off on the handle about a topic, to someone, ect. They create a new profile just for that one remark which I find to be a waste.

I know when I was at another forum long ago that they limited your computer to two profiles no matter how many e-mails accounts that you may have. I think they tracked your CPU ID.

I think it is time that there be some cracking down on those people who abuse the forums just to say something with a new profile never to use it again.

I have always thought that if you want to say something then say it. Come on! Tell me what people are so afraid of? If someone has something to say then say it. Do not try to hide behind a false name in order to protect yourself.

The Prequel Trilogy / Creating General Grievous
« on: February 28, 2004, 08:58 AM »
For Hyperspace they have the Creating General Grievous. Pretty neat stuff there.

Keep an eye on the background for some neat looking images.

General Grevious - An Alien in a Droid Shell a forshadowing of Anaking into Vader. General of the Droid Army.

At first I thought Grevious would be a character that was just filler. But now it looks like he has a major role. E3 is looking even better than before.

Saga '02-'04 / Toys-R-Us finds
« on: February 1, 2004, 11:19 AM »
Well, this morning I went to Toys-R-Us in hopes of finding the new Unleashed Statues or new figures. I found none.
The manager was nice enough to look up the stock at the other TRU stores for me and they also have none of the Unleashed or new Figures. She explained to me that it is due to the hit they took at Christmas, the Inventory Stock that they just finished, and the Warehouse who just finished Inventory Stock. She said they are just now slowly starting to get in stock.
As for the Star Wars items listed in the Sales Add she told me to check back later this week. She says the CPU shows the Unleashed in Transit. So hopefully by this weeks end I will find them or at least a few figures.

Anyone here have any luck at their Toys-R-Us store?
Post your findings.

Happy Hunting!

Watto's Junk Yard / 54321 TV Show
« on: January 31, 2004, 12:07 PM »
The other night I was watching the TV show called "54321" It is a show about extreme sports and the people involved, ect. Anyways they had this guy named Kip in the show who is a BMX stunt guy who makes videos of BMX events. They talked a little about him and his hobbies. One of his most favorite hobbies is to collect Star Wars. They showed his collection. It is very massive! This guy collects all the little action figures up to the life size things to items that I have never seen before.

He has a large collection.
He also collects the Simpsons toys.

Anyways if you catch this show it is worth watching just to see two rooms full of Star Wars stuff.

Feedback / stan's feedback
« on: January 8, 2004, 12:37 PM »
I have to start a feedback thread for Stan. He is the man!
I have helped him out in acquiring some items. I asked him to stay on the lookout for a figure for me. He found it!
Anyways, Stan is sending me the figure. Thank you a whole bunch Stan!
You are truely a great friend and honest person.

I will keep my eye out for any other items that you might need.

Highly recomended person to deal with.

Saga '02-'04 / 25th Anniversary Clonetrooper
« on: January 7, 2004, 07:20 PM »
Does anyone know when the 25th Anniversary Clonetrooper is going to be hitting the States? I have noticed on internet retail sites (overseas) that they have this figure in great supply.

I have asked about it at two of my local Toys-R-Us stores and nobody can give me an answer when this figure is going to be out. I even showed them a printout of the toy and they were still dumbfounded. I even wonder if it will be an exclusive to Toys-R-Us here in the States. Maybe Paizo will offer it in the future.

I know the Clonetrooper is not a 25th Anniversary character but I would still like to acquire it for my collection.

Toy Reviews / R1-G4 - Tatooine Transaction
« on: December 30, 2003, 11:06 AM »
Picked this figure up at Wal-Mart.

Accessories = None

Detail / Sculpt = Nicely done by Hasbro. The weathering looks great.
This figure is fairly big for a Star Wars figure. Lots of detail for such a minor character.

Articulation = two small grabber arms move in and out of the front. I was disapointed that the head of this droid does not turn. It is mainly a large piece of solid plastic that looks good.

Over All = I really like this figure for what it is. Due to the lack of articulation and an accessory I will have to give this really nice looking droid a A
