Star Wars Universe / Secrets of Star Wars '07...
« on: May 25, 2006, 02:53 AM »
Has anyone else with HS been following this at all? I have to say I'm more than a little curious as to what it is exactly. I think it is fairly obvious it is either going to be the T.V. show or a video game of some sort, but i haven't decided which yet. At E3, the yearly video game convention akin to Comic Con, LucasArts revelaed concept art for some game that appears to revolve around Vader. And that was all they released, there weren't any trailers or screenshots or anything like that. So I'm wondering if this is perhaps a continuation of that? But at the same time this seems to be getting a pretty big hype for a video game. Which leads me to believe it could also possibly be early TV show concept art?

The newest one is pretty cool looking. For those without HS, it is a big ol' Star Destroyer and a few TIEs desending out of some really dark clouds onto Naboo. There are a good amount of AT-ATs on the ground, and parts of the city seem to be up in flames.

So what is everyone else's thoughts on this?

Here's the link BTW:

I'm not really sure where this topic is supposed to go, so I figured I'd throw it in here. If the mods would like to move it elsewhere, go right ahead.

I supposed I should start one of these up for Pat. I've traded with him several times and it has always been hassle free.

He hooked me up with a UGH figure I needed today.

Thanks again! :)

I just noticed this today when I was looking for something to read on the forums, it appears there is a typo in the Toy Review forum description:

I think the word "know" needs to be in there between "everyone" and "what."

What is that? Is it supposed to be his starfighter or am I oblivious to some other item coming out soon? ???

Toy Reviews / New JD Review: Neimoidian Warrior
« on: November 3, 2005, 10:08 PM »
You're slacking again Jesse. ;)

As weird as it sounds I'm going to have to agree with you on thus guy. I too actually like him. When you buy enough he can make a nice little army. That being said I just wish he wasn't quite sop readily availible at retail. I do like seeing other figures occasionally. This guy actually makes some pretty good custom fodder as well.

I do have to add one more con to the articualtion though, one of the elbows seems to be cut at a funny angle and as a result doesn't have the greatest range of motion.

I wish they would clearance these off so I could pick up a few more and help get rid of them around here.

Watto's Junk Yard / Jarhead
« on: November 3, 2005, 08:16 PM »
Is anyone else really excited about this movie? My friends and I are going to go see it tomorrow night when it opens. From the looks of things they have a really good cast, I really like Jake Gyllenhaal and Chris Cooper. I've been checking out the Jarhead site today, it is really well done.

Alright I'm really confused, supposedly there will be stargate and Battlestar Galactia items shipping with the Titanium line. I thought they were going to be with the Wal-Mart Titanium series because most of them are vehichles, but there is also a Cylon figure in there. Here's the story from Gateworld.

Hasbro will release the first-ever toy Stargate and death glider as part of the upcoming line of Star Wars toys, according to reports at Rebel Scum and TheForce.net. Both Stargate toys and Battlestar Galactica toys will be included as a sort of "expanded universe" along with Hasbro's new Star Wars Titanium line.

Stargate items on the list include:

3-inch Stargate with Stand
3-inch Death Glider ship
Battlestar Galactica items include:

3-inch 1978 Viper vehicle
3-inch 1978 Cylon Raider vehicle
3-inch 2004 Scout ship vehicle
3-inch 2004 Colonial 1
3-inch 2004 Raptor
3-inch 2004 Viper Mark VII
Cylon Warrior (figure)
The toys will be shipped along with the Star Wars line in 2006, so keep your eyes on the toy aisle at your favorite store! There is no word yet on the toys' availability outside the U.S.

Mods if this isn't the right line go ahead and move/delete this.

Other Toy Lines / Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis figures
« on: October 12, 2005, 08:58 PM »
http://www.gateworld.net/news/2005/10/sg-1atlantisactionfiguresi.shtml

Gateworld reported today that Diamond Select Toys just got rights to make Stargate figures. They will be 7 inches tall.

For me this is good and Bad news. I have been working on a series of SG-1 customs for awhile now and I was hoping that they'd be unique. :-\ This is one line I can definitely see myself getting into though. :)

Toy Reviews / New JD Review: Obi-Wan Kenobi Red Leader
« on: October 3, 2005, 10:19 PM »
Great review Jesse! I really enjoyed the read and agree with you 100%. I think that this Obi-Wan could be my favorite figure ever, not just my favorite Obi-Wan figure. They did such a good job of hiding the articulation, with the exception of the crappy ankle pin. I think that we may see a fixed version someday, if it is ever repacked. Until thne though I'm more than happy with what we got. :)

Watto's Junk Yard / 25 pounds in 6 weeks. Can I do it? V 2.0
« on: September 20, 2005, 06:56 PM »
Well it's official. I'm going to try and lose weight like Kevin. I had my first hockey game of the season on Sunday and I realized how dreadfully out of shape I am. I decided it is time to get my weight back down to where it was in high school. At the end of my senior football season, I was in the best shape of my life. I was runing and lifting 5 days a week and weighed about 245-250. Which was the most I had ever weighed, but at 6'4" that isn't bad, and I was actually pretty solid. I had plans to walk-on to the Football team here at CSU, and I more than likely would have made it. Once track season started in February I couldn't lift after school any more and no one wanted to lift with me after track practice, so I was only lifting 3 times a week, and only got anything done once a week. By the end of track I wasn't in very good shape. It got worse over the summer because I had work at the time my friends would go and lift and they didn't want to wait for me, so I rarely lifted over the summer, and once I got to school it got worse. I wasn't active at all.

A year and a half later I'm now 273.4 lbs. and in the worst shape of my life. I'm sick of it. Unlike Kevin I only want to lose 20-25 pounds in 6 weeks, which works out to about 3.3 to 4.2 lbs. a week, which I think is very do-able. I don't want to be skinny because I've always been the big kid, I just want to get in shape and be back to my normal size. Right now I have 2 hcokey games a week and I plan on swimming 3 days a week and I want to start lifting again. I'm not going to do any serious dieting, my eating habits haven't changed to much over the last year. I am however going to try to eat more fruits and vegetables and cut down on what little fast food I eat. Like Kevin I'll update here as I progress.  :)

« on: September 14, 2005, 02:43 AM »
I'll start a thread for Matt here since he doesn't have one. And I'm happy to start it on a good note. I've traded with Matt a lot and it has been great every time. Matt hooked me up with a Holo Yoda (awhile ago), and more recently when he has bought stuff from me, I have gotten very quick payments. He also makes really good pot roast. :P
