The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Re: Speeder Bike Recon Battle Pack

I know I don't HAVE to buy it, but at this point, after 13 years in and thousands of dollars and at least two of everything (with one still MOC/MIB), it just seems foolish to quit now. My wife would love it if I did, but I can't bring myself to do it.

So for me the Clone Wars line will be a huge cost savings since I'll want to continue the two of everything, but I won't army build like I have done to a pretty extensive degree since ROTS.

Since I really like the Droid Factory concept, I might spend the money like I did with the TAC line and pick up three of every figure which will net me duplicates of all of the droids you can build.

I wish C-3PX had more articulation. I might pick up the Vader set & Watto set.

Unless I'm mis-counting, I think C-3PX has 14 points of articulation.

i dont know man his torso seems a lot different. i think they just re-used tychos legs.

You're right - sorry, I think Ten Nuib shares the same legs, harness straps, crotch and arms as Tycho, the only new pieces for the figure are the Torso, Head, Helmet and hose.

That's fine if you ask me, but it's also a valid explanation as to why Ten's a bit taller this go-around.

The Legacy Collection / Re: Will Droids become the new Clones?

I think the droid factory concept is the ONLY way we'd be getting droids like those two R7 models or even with the WalMart wave, figures like C-3PX. So from that stand-point, I think this concept is pretty good. Droids lend themselves to coming in parts and for Hasbro to pick two droids that can work modularly with each other is also a plus. I can see people mixing and matching different parts to have slightly different droids.

I also hope that Hasbro considers giving us some R6, R8 and R9 astromechs.

I have noticed a pattern to the waves.

Wave 1 (Tatooine) - 1x R4, 1x R7
Wave 2 (CW) - 1x R4, 1x R7
Wave 3 (?) - 6 figures = protocol droid
Wave 4 (?) - 8 figures = 2 more astromechs

I hope that for the third 8 figure wave, we don't end up with another R4 and another R7 model. But if we do, I really won't be surprised.

Evo Vader and Bespin Sculpt Vader both kneel perfectly.  I think my Bespin one I have in a kneeling pose with his head tilted down like he's bowing to the holographic image...

This is awesome news I think...  Some of the coolest stuff out of TF this year. :)  Kickin' rear end on that.  I've always felt that was iconic, and would dig a display for that moment.

Doesn't the Bespin Vader have the flip-up cod-piece like the VOTC figure? I guess if Vader is happy to see the Emperor that figure would work just fine.  ;D

For the guys attending the event, did you see or ask if the tail swings down into position UNDER the ship? That is how it's supposed to fly.

Good catch Sal - why didn't they hang it up with the tail wing in the lowered position? It makes me wonder if it pivots down at all. (I know they told you it did Jeff, but they could have just been talking about the left and right wings)

I can't believe that this is all they showed.  If they wanted to give the idea that the CW3D show will be huge, and in the theaters, they should have shown all of the figures they are making!  I can't believe that they'll have a Midnight Madness for 8 figures and 3 ships...

Is a midnight madness on 7/26 official? Also, from the Hasbro presentation report, it looks like only the Homing Spider Droid and the V-19 will be avaialble on the 26th of July, the AT-TE will be released later during the holiday shopping season. At least according to this report on Galactic Hunter:

The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Re: Clone Wars Preview Figure - Captain Rex
« on: February 17, 2008, 09:41 AM »
It's interesting how his kama doesn't go all the way around...I wonder if that's a playability thing, and will allow him to sit in ships?

Unless the kama is made of the most flexible plastic in the world or cloth, I'm afraid Captain Rex will suffer the same problems that all Clones w/kamas face - the inability to sit down. It probably just matches how he looks in the cartoon.

Oh - okay, so it's a Clone Wars line battle pack. That's okay I guess. Good for me a suppose, it means I only have to pick up two and not three or four.

I really like (and appreciate) the R2-D2. That is one incarnation of our favorite little astromech that has never appeared as a toy. Granted it only appears in Star Wars for a few seconds, it's still nice to have. Now all we need is the "swiss army knife" version from ROTJ and every possible R2 variation will have been covered.

If the BARC Trooper featured a cammo deco or a green tint (LIKE EVERY OTHER Kashyyyk themed trooper to date) then that set would make sense. Right now, it looks like nothing more than a Commander Neyo figure.  :-\

It looks to me that Ten Nuib uses the base TAC A-Wing pilot body (which is probably the reason why he is so tall compared to others of his species).

I had a feeling that they were going to do something like this with the B-Wing pilot since they put so much detail into the Tycho figure, it only made sense.

Maybe that K-3PO uses the C-3PO Endor Throne sculpt? That would definitely fit with all of the articulation we see.

I'm also guessing that it will feature either a pre-posed Vader that is kneeling or the Evolutions Vader since that one can probably kneel the best out of any of the Vader figures. But I agree - this will be where we get the Holo Emperor head.

*ugh* more sets exclusive to WalMart? When the regular Comic 2-pack line features some real gems, it's almost embarassing when they put out stuff like this along side it.
