Man, I'd really like to get ahold of these two carded Kubricks as well, but they're going to be WAY pricey! Haven't even seen them hit eBay yet...

I still need the Boba Fett and the carded Vader. I think i may eventually get the Boba, but the Vader just doesnt interest me that much.
-
i got my fett ard the 200us mark and the luke seems cheap nowadays....
-
Like to get the Jorg someday. I have a loose Fett, Vader doesn`t impress me. I don`t like the Leia (if I found one really cheap I`d get it though) and Luke, I don`t know, never really had the urge to buy him yet.
Jorg and BH trooper I will get though, someday..

$79 Dlvd for BHS on ebay. Three available. (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=007&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=170064668987&rd=1&rd=1) Been sitting out there a while now, I thought they'd be gone by now.

Been watching those too. Lasted way longer than I thought. I guess the initial "rush" is over and us cheap guys are waiting it out now. It would make a good start to the new year though... ;D
-
Happy new year guys..Greetings from Singapore. $79 for the BHS is reasonably cheap as compared to the one I have that bought over at ebay..mine is much, much more far apart more..Quite regret for paying such a high price for it the other time.Learn my lesson as well too "Don't do things in a rush way"..
Now my wish list on carded Kubs are Droids Boba & R2.(uniquely done)
Parco Sacul & Sandy- don't even want to think about it.---> Cant really afford it anyway.
Boba & Darth - nothing fancy on them due to a re-pack into carded with the same Series 4 & Chase figures..not to mention thier prices as well too.
Anyone needs to let go Boba or R2's Pls PM ya...cheers.

Just because there is a separate thread for the Carded Kubricks now...

Can't wait to see if we get a few more in 2007... and before you ask, I have no plans to open them. :P

Stop teasing me with your awesome carded collection! Gonna have to hunt down a Jorg and BH Stormie for sure, just have to time it right (too much $tuff coming in the next few months :-( )
About your plans... seems from the series 3 thread that you had no plans on even getting these.... never say never! ;D

Yeah, originally I thought I could resist the ones that were just variants (Fireball Fett, Parco Sandy, Luke) and only get the "new" ones (Leia, R2, Droids Fett) but once I started rolling, I just couldn't stop. :D

but once I started rolling, I just couldn't stop. :D
Addictive, like crack! ;D

Sweet pic Jeff...holy smokes!
I only really want a few of the carded Kubricks, but only for openers. I would love to get a Droids Fett, Black Stormtrooper, Droids R2 and Holo Leia. But I'm not in a rush to get them, and the prices never seem right to me.
-
Advised needed urgently on the price listed:
Droids Boba @ $95
Holo Leia @ $65
Hit it or forget about it.Condition is mint..Is it worth getting at that price?.
-
Just checking eBay, I found 2 Holo Leia's in the $50.-$55. range with shipping around $14.-$15.
Kubrick Princess Leia Hologram (http://cgi.ebay.com/STAR-WARS-Medicom-Kubrick-Princess-Leia-Hologram-MINT_W0QQitemZ170065521388QQihZ007QQcategoryZ48972QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem) Many negatives tho.

Great information provided.Appreciated it.I've began to be interested in Carded, since I've gotten the Luke & BH stormie, craving for more but due to $$$ issue and uncertainty of the market value / price, really not in the way of getting the rest till I've hit it with the good price..
HTF of the 3 Parco's (Vader,Black Pauldron Sandy & Sacul) and Bape Boba are way too expensive..

If you're collecting these for market value, don't. They'll drop. Maybe not soon, but before you can sell them they will. I've seen Sacul go for under $200 in straight auctions, the others have already dropped too.
Simon's prices are always fair and pretty much represent what the fair market value is. He's always cool about stuff and ships fast and extremely well packed. I know it's a bit of sunshine up his ass, but he's a good board member and is deserving. He's helped out a lot of us.
-
:-\ Guess really have to take my time to really hunt them down for the correct prices ya..
-
yea, just wait a little and hunt after the good deals, i just scored a Bape Fett for 170ish shipped and loving it. just need the sandy and pilot and i'm done! ;D

I do find myself wanting a Sacul more and more though...
I ordered my cases from Oscars, and got few extra, just in case I ever hit the lottery and get vader, fett, and sacul :)
Update: Through shopping in a compromised cognitive state, I now find myself the lucky owner of Sacul, Bape Fett, and Vader. I think I will take a break from Hasbro for a while to help defray my expenses.

Very nice!
And much better than anything Hasbro provides.
I buy clasic Titaniums, a few Playskool here and there, but that's about it.
I do want the Galactic Marine though, that figure looks cool.
Can't remember the last figure I bought from them, I only have a handful.
The Kubes sucked me in big time.
I'd love to have a completed carded colection someday.
Bape Fett...I can dream!

My first Carded Kubes.
I got R2, Fett & Luke all at once.
The Fett was a must, I wanted that one so bad!
Guy was selling them all so I dove in!
The only Brick I have 2 of is Droids Boba.
I had to open one.
The one sealed has a crease though! I had to hide it a bit so I wouildn't notice in the case, looks good.
All the others I have are sealed. (except R2 bubble is cut so I can pull him out for when 3po gets here)
I also traded a loose Parco Sandie (got some cool loose pics of him) to Sith.
He was very happy.
Here is a custom Black Sandie I did:
Only ones I don't have, big surprise here...are: Jorg, Vader and Fett.
Maybe someday...
CB
-
What Dewback is that?
-
CB,What a great collection you have to share....Really envy you folks that have all the carded stuff... :-X
Me...Hmmm,don't even know when will I be getting those,to enjoy the beauty of it.. :'(
-
What Dewback is that?
Its the Vintage one.
I could never part with it!
I just love the Sandies too much!
one of my favorite parts of the film.
I remember wanting them as toys as a kid.
Does anyone remember a magazine that had custom figures when you were a kid?
I remember pictures of Sandtroopers as figures in some magazine, but I have never seen them since,
-
I don't know what happened. I lost it and bought the bounty hunter 6 pack. I feel bad like I ate a gallon of ice cream.
-
lol!
My lady always brings home Ice Cream.
Evil.
And what were you thinking?
it is a decent price, just too much other stuff to buy though.
Doc
-
I'm hoping that Uzay snowtrooper is like the shadow trooper, and ends up being $50-60 when the dust settles.
I guess it all depends... it seems like the carded figures that are tied more closely to "vintage Kenner" things (like the Droids R2 & Droids Fett) seem to stay around the $75-100 mark while the ones that have nothing to do with Kenner (Shadowtrooper, Holo Leia) seem to be the ones that drop further in price.
Since Uzay is kind of niche homage to the vintage bootleg stuff, it will be interesting to see where the demand will lead the price... either way I'll still end up with one. :)
-
I started collecting carded Kubricks a few months ago. I was going to open them, because I wanted the Droids Fett and a couple others just loose. But then with the disappointing announcement (for me) of series 8 and 9, I figured I'd shift my efforts towards the carded stuff in general.
So here are my latest acquisitions, thanks to Simon, plasticlab from KN and a few others:

Really nice Matt! Moving up to the big leagues are we? Does this mean you have a bounty hunter set on the way?

Thanks guys, and sorry for the crappy pic...my camera just absolutely sucks.
Yeah, I guess I am going to get the rest of them slowly but surely. Don't have the Bounty Hunter set on the way yet, but I've been scoping for it. The Jorg Sacul seems a little silly to me though for the price they go for.
-
Ok.... what just happened here? £56 ($113) for a carded Bossk?

Did they think they were bidding on the whole set or am I missing something?
-
That is just crazy, must have thought it was for the group. If so then that's what you get for not reading the description. Who knows, the bidder may have been drinking while eBaying. :D

Thanks CB,by the way,is it the same figure from series 4 that re-carded back as an exhibition exclusive..?

Well, I had something really strange happen to me tonight...
I was re-arranging my display shelves and while I was moving some stuff around, I noticed that my Droids R2-D2 bubble had completely detached from the card. Since it was in an Oscar case, it wasn't noticable until I grabbed the case to move it and the bubble tipped right over in the case.
I tried in vain to re-attach it, but failed miserably. As a precaution, I went back through the other 9 carded figures I have and they all seem to have nice firmly attached bubbles. I have no idea what could have caused R2's bubble to pop off - just a weak glue job I guess. :-\
The thing that was so strange about it was that I had been going back and forth about dropping the cash for another one to open to go with my Droids 3PO, so in a way, I guess fate made the decision for me. :P
-
It can breathe!
Ok, actually it sucks and I share your pain - it happened to my vintage 21-back Power Droid. Just hanging there in a star case then flop, the bubble comes off :'(
-
Eeeeeeeeeeeek! :o
Dale looks over at his curio cabinet with a strange look on his face. Guess I'll have to check my carded figs out. :-\
Man that sucks Jeff but as you mentioned, you wanted a loose R2 so might be a good thing. :-\
-
Damn Jeff! Good thing it wasn't a Fett or Parco Sandtrooper. :P
I've actually have had the same problem with 2 different 400% Boba Fetts. The glue just gave out completely leave the edge split. Now I haven't done any repairs yet but anyone have a tip for a good glue to use?

I have to check mine now...
-
My new set of Bounty Hunters came a little sketchy too. The corners weren't on too good. Let's hope Medicom reads this. That's a big investment.
-
:) Can anyone advised on the released quantity of those carded exclusive..I've posted the same questions over at KN forum, but till date...no reply at all..I've divert my attention to collecting carded Kubs, but yet to know how rare and limited ar they..know some are limited to 2004 - 2006 pcs world wide ie..droids Boba,R2,Shadow,what about Sacul,Vader etc..Medicom exhibition exclusive..
-
No one know exactly how many of the Parco there are. Estimates range from 150-300 for the show pieces, but there is no official information from Medicom on how many were made. That is probably why you can't find an answer...
Bape Boba Fett - approximately 150 pieces
Luke Skywalker - originally about 200, but with the club re-release it is believed to be over 1000+
R2-D2 (Droids) - 2004 pieces
Sandtrooper (Black Pad) - approximately 200 pieces
Boba Fett (Droids) - 2004 pieces
Princess Leia (Hologram) - 2004 pieces
Darth Vader - approximately 300 pieces
Jorg Sacul (X-Wing Pilot) - approximately 250 pieces
Shadow Stormtrooper - 2006 pieces
Han Solo (Carbonite) - approximately 250 pieces

I think I'll keep my carded kubs on their back when they are not displayed- maybe it will help lessen the strain on the glue...

A good bin at $80. if anyone is interested, cheapest I have seen.

If there was anything to it that I don't already own, then I'd be all over it. But I'm just sitting and waiting on the blue stars.
-
Damn, I would have bought that...now I guess I'll have to wait
Down to needing:
Original Fett
Sandtrooper
Han Carbonite
Blackhole Stormtrooper
Han is probably the only one I'll get...maybe the Sandy...eventually
-
So much for that bin. :-\
-
I would have bought it as well. What can you do.

Sorry guys. That was me. I ended up retracting my bid so it's back up for the $80 BIN if you guys are still interested. Again, sorry about that.
-
Even though I sold most of my Kubricks, I'd still like to get the carded Vader some day. I'm not sure what it goes for these days, but it'll take a some luck to find one for a price I'm willing to pay.
-
So I've been reading through this thread again and I have a question for most. Other than Jeff who's made his position rather clear, is anyone else planning on opening their carded figures? I just got the carded Luke figure and don't know if I'm going to keep it carded or open it up and put it in with the rest of my display. I can see keeping the Bape Fett, Parco Jorg, Carbonite Han and the Vader carded based on the release quantities, but it's the ones that were released in quantities of 1000+ I'm struggling with.
Thoughts?
-
I have two shadow troopers, a droids fett, droids R2, holo Leia, and Sacul loose. at some point I plan on picking up an opener of the han carbonite, but it is low on my priority list. Vader, Fett, and Luke just aren't different enough to justify opening. And the sandtrooper is too easy to make with electrical tape. :)
-
So I'm leaning toward keeping the Luke carded. Before I e-mail Oscar about buying some cases, does anyone have any extras that they would be willing to part with for a nominal fee? Let me know. Thanks.
-
Just got the carded Luke in the mail today. I'm definitely keeping this carded. I absolutely love how this looks carded. I don't know that I would pass up a loose figure in lieu of a carded one, but if the price is right I can see buying more carded figures in the future.
-
I just got a carded Jorg Sacul. It came sealed in a plastic wrapped/bag. Anyone know if this is the norm for the carded figures? This is the first time I have seen a carded Kubrick figure come in a protective plastic bag. The plastic bag looks like it is a factory seal?
-
I think it's safe to say that nobody else's Sacul came vacuum sealed. Every one I've see posted here has been card only, just as mine was.
-
Nope, I have never gotten one in a vac baggie. I did get the Han Carb Block in a tape sealed baggie tho.
-
I guess the seller must have sealed the figure in the bag.
-
Recently got the carded Luke I had talked about previously and also received my Oscar case! I did notice that the card doesn't fit perfectly in the case such that the top of the card isn't held in place properly. Has anyone else had this issue and if so, how did you resolve it?
Can't wait to get more carded figures now!

Also, it looks like Oscar is selling these in bulk on ebay now...

-
Thanks for the tip, I'm going to buy a couple of those cases.
-
I just received my very own carded Luke. Tell me why I shouldn't rip into and put it in my display case?
-
If that's what you want to do, go ahead and rip it open! :)
-
I don't know what happened. I lost it and bought the bounty hunter 6 pack. I feel bad like I ate a gallon of ice cream.
I liked this quote, and thought it would be a good way to mention on the kubrick board that Tony passed away recently. There is a thread in Watto's junkyard that has a link to a nice summary of the struggles he has been dealing with. Very sad indeed.
-
Very sad.
Can you provide a link to that thread?

I'd really like to get some cases for my carded kubs but It's looking like $100 for 5 due to postage to the UK.
If anybody knows about anything more local then please give me a shout ;)
-
Oscar makes most of the cases that people have used here on the boards. He actually has an ebay auction up now for acrylic Kubrick cases... They are well worth the money.
-
Oscar and that ebay auction is what I was talking about in regards to the postage costs.
Thanks for the help anyway ;)
-
:P i keep my carded in normal star case...looks weird, but i'm ok with it...
-
i have a question for kubrick card fan.
I just buy han solo in carbonite and yoda clear in blister card.
im suprise, because there are a officiel blister sealed to protect the blister.
it the first time i see that. Do you say if others blister are the same thing ?

Are you referring to something like this:
Blue Stars (http://cgi.ebay.com/Medicom-Star-Wars-carded-Kubrick-Snowtrooper-Blue-Stars_W0QQitemZ250443180536QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item3a4f93a9f8&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A10%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50)
I think that it's just the carded Kubrick figure in a generic Hasbro plastic case (from a Revenge of the Sith figure). Nothing special about the case IMO. Those cases are not specifically made for Kubricks.

oops not blister, i make a mistake, is a sealed bag with takara tomy stickers
i make pics :

you are others exemple ? i never see that in the others blister card SW
-
I have never received any of my carded Kubs in baggies like that. I think DSJ got one or two in a bag and maybe a few others but I don't recall seeing any of them with a Takara Tomy sticker like that. Interesting.
-
Yes, both Dale and I got Spirit Yodas in the Tomy baggie... here's Dale's post:
Yoda arrived heat sealed in a clear bag & it looks like that's the way these were handed out at the Medicom Toy Exhibition. If you look at the back picture on the lower right corner, a TOMY sticker is on the bag.
It has happened a few times with the Parco Show exclusive Kubricks they have done... Sacul, Carbonite Han, Spirit Yoda.
-
Ok in ebay i never see with bag, is start just with sacul do you know ?
-
With the upcoming carded Chewbacca, we are officially halfway to having the original kenner 12 done up as carded kubricks. So far we have:
Parco Vader
Blonde Luke
Han Solo (series 2)
Obi Wan (series 2)
Tusken Raider (series 2)
Chewbacca
That leaves:
Princess Leia
R2 D2
C-3PO
Jawa
Stormtrooper
Death Squad Trooper
I like the idea of them slowly finishing off those original 12- It would be another cool nod to the vintage line.

Just received some acrylic cases for the carded Kubs from Oscar's Cases...I am exceptionally satisfied with the quality and craftsmanship of these. Just wanted to give 'props' to my man Oscar.

Those of you that are not carded collectors may be interested in the latest offering from Honorious who is selling a loose Jorg Sacul for $98 + shipping:

Too bad I missed it, I'd have grabbed it for sure. I still haven't opened my Sacul, but fully intend to. Could have saved some cash.
-
yeah, I'm the guilty party who bought it. It did save me at least 100.00. I am trying to display all carded figures in cases without opening the ones I have.
-
He had 2 loose Sacul's up on the block.
-
I was the jerk who swapped up the other loose Jorg Sacul. However, to my chagrin, I received an eBay message from honorius shortly thereafter that he made a mistake in the listing, and that he didn't have that item available. Needless to say, I'm a little miffed. I've purchased several items from him before without any problems...I wonder what happened?
-
He obviously listed it twice by accident and didn't notice.
-
That would be simple explanation, although I completed my auction some five minutes prior to bigj22. Now, I didn't actually pay for the item before I received the notice of cancellation, and maybe bigj22 did. I realize this is silly, and I will stop wasting everyone's time on this insignificance, but I'd like to hear from bigj22.

When I used BIN, I just paid for it asap so I would not miss out on it. Maybe by paying for it right away I was able to get the only one he had. Not sure. It only shows 1 bid and 1 as quantity. I bought it with less than 2 hours after it was listed. Does that help?
-
I just checked both auction listings. Your right, you bought yours 5 minutes before I did. Not sure what happened now.

Not that you'd ever be able to find out, but someone could easily have offered to buy it outside of Ebay to save them both money on fees. He can just cancel your payment and take someone else's money saving $10-15 on his cost. Not saying he did that, but I know of a few instances where that sort of thing has happened.
-
Who knows... Well, congrats bigj22, and please post pics of him when it arrives.

I'm rebuilding my Kubrick display.... someone other than my friend "I am Sith" please give me a good reason I don't take my Blue Stars Trooper off his card and display him. Same thing for farmboy Luke. I'm feeling the pull to the dark side to free those two from their plastic prisons!

Open them up! Free them from the plastic prison! I've opened all my Kubies and never looked back. ;D

Need some advise here.Need to get hold of my carded,to be in the acrylic cases. But unsure of the diameter.Have source a local maker to customised the casing.Advise are really appreciated.
-
I have a feeling that they're not all the same size, especially in depth/bubble size. Others will know better than me.
The only carded kub I have is Droids R2; his card is 5.5 inches wide by 7.75 inches tall by about 1.75 inches deep with the bubble, if that's any help.

Sorry, can't help you. What are these "carded star wars kubricks" you speak of? ;D

I kept my Toy Fair Vader and Uzay Snowy carded, but opened all the rest. I have the Uzay in an Oscar Case, which I think is big enough to hold all the carded Kubes to date. Send me a PM if you want the dimensions of the case.

Anyone that has been holding out on buying carded Kubricks may want to look into this auction:
2003-2011 Carded Collection (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270743187824&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:en)
It averages out to about $100 per carded figure, which seems a bit harsh when you consider that the only two carded figures that sell for more than $100 these days are the Sacul and Blue Stars. Still, pretty impressive to see all of the carded figures together in one auction.
-
Well I moved a few months ago and when I opened one of my boxes I found that the bubble on my 2003 droids boba fett had separated from the card but I wasn't too bothered because of the Boba Fett series had sort of devalued it (in my eyes). However the other day I found the bubble and the kub of my droids R2-D2 on the floor in front of the bookcase where I keep my medicom stuff. After crying like a girl I realised I can now put all my droids kubs together in a case. I am slightly concerned I'm going to turn into one of those sicko's! :P who remove kubs from their cards. I mean the bubble on my Sarcul is kinda yellowing............ :o
-
Free these poor Kubes from their plastic prisons!!! ;)
I've got loose Sacul, Toy Fair Vader, and Uzay Blue Star and have to say its pretty nice having them mixed in with the other figures. It is cool to have a few carded versions for display as well, but think of the added hassle there. How long will the cards last? How will you protect them? What if there is a flaw in the card? How much extra space do you take up with cards?
I am sorry for your losses, but you've got a good attitude about it. Maybe just keep going the way you are - keep what you can carded and when the cards fail, you have a minty fresh loose fig ready for display. In the bright side, letting the bubble fall off keeps the card nice and clean if you want to keep it. ;)
-
Yeah after my initial shock at the Droids R2-D2 (he's one of my favourite carded figs) incident I've become quite Zen about the whole thing.
-
I've been keeping my Blue Stars Trooper carded in case my buddy 'I am Sith' lands a loose one to trade. However, I suspect his days in his carded plastic state are soon over. As soon as Sith gives me the nod that his carded one is in good shape I'm bustin' him out!
-
Patience... Items should be arriving soon. Then you will have your chance to add your blue snowtrooper to your display once and for all.

Brent, you are free to finally rip into your Blue Stars Snowtrooper! I received my shipment from Japan today with the five carded figures I had purchased and they all arrived in minty shape.
Thanks again for waiting so long to desecrate your figure while I tried to obtain one for myself!

Excellent... glad to hear they arrived safe and sound.

Well, I finally bit on a Parco carded vintage style Obi-Wan. I found one for $72...best pricing I have seen so far, but still more than I was hoping to pay for this. I love the Gray/White Ben variations in my vintage collection, so I'm hoping this one really stands out next to the DX3 version.
Only 5 more Kubes left to go... :o
-
Wow 72... Nice score!

$72 before onejp fees and shipping, so more like $125. :P

So I was looking at the carded collection this morning in anticipation of receiving my latest shipment of Oscar cases and noticed that the bubble on my carded Holo Leia has yellowed over the last year or so. Anyone else have this problem with any of their carded figures? That figure is cheap enough where I can replace it if I want to, but I'm kind of curious to see if this is just an isolated incident or something I'm going to need to watch out for... Any feedback you can offer is appreciated.
-
My Leia is also yellowing as is my Jorg Sacul. All the others seem fine.
-
My Boba Bape is yellowed as well :(
-
Just received my acrylic case order from Oscar. Now that I have all my carded figures in cases (with the exception being the BFC as they are still in the 6-pack they arrived in), I'm going to need to find a way to take a picture and show them off.

I suggest using a camera.

Hilarious! ;)

If you put a pin hole in the bubble (I know, out come the torches) it should stop it from yellowing... works on vintage stuff anyway.
-
So I know this question has been asked before. I have a sweet Kub display case and Im thinking of opening all my carded figs. Im not collecting them for the value however if i decide to sell , i hope i dont depreciate the value a lot. Do u think the value will only decline slightly. I know the value now has dropped too. Any ideas???
-
Kubrick prices can be all over the map- if two people want something, it can sell for quite a bit more than the one before it (looking at completed auctions that actually sold).
That being said, I would say it essentially cuts the value in half for most of them, less so for others.
Finding loose examples for comparison is tricky because there aren't a lot out there. But I've been watching auctions come and go for years, and I would say most common ones from early on (droids R2, holo Leia etc.) sell for about 1/2 of a carded version. Others I have almost never seen (transparent Han carbonite, holo yoda), so those may stick closer to 3/4. But they all definately take a hit.
If you wait it out, you may be able to find loose versions, then sell your carded ones. But you'll be competing with me for a few of the loose ones ;)
