Watto's Junk Yard / What are the worst sequels?
« on: August 15, 2004, 12:06 AM »
Which sequels do you feel are inferior to their original counterparts?  I don't think many people here will agree with my choices, but here goes:

- Batman Returns (GNT might disagree)
- Jeepers Creepers 2
- Predator 2 (the Predator goes urban. lame.)
- Matrix sequels (were they really necessary?)
- Terminator sequels (were they really necessary?)
- Superman 2 (I didn't care much for the trio of villians, especially Ursa and Non)
- Spider-Man 2 (yep. I felt it was inferior to the first.  Flame away!)

And despite the fact that I despise most Disney sequels, they always end up in my collection.  Somehow my daughter always manages to convince grandma she needs them.   :-\

Um, it's grammar, not "grammer."  ;D >:( ??? ::) :'(

I've been listening to it all week.  No urge to don a cowboy hat as of yet.

Go back to ESPN, Kilborn--you suck.  But please, don't go back to the Daily Show.  (Like they'd have your smug, pompous, unfunny ass back, anyway.)

Agreed.  Kilborn was okay on the Daily Show, but John Stewart is a million times better as a host.  Buh-Bye Mister Kilborn!

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: VOTC Stormtrooper availability?
« on: August 12, 2004, 02:12 PM »
Will there be enough Stormtroopers for those that want a few?

It depends on what you mean by a 'few'.  Finding one or two shouldn't be a problem.  However, trying to build an army of VOTC Stormies is going to be very difficult, even at $10.  But I'm sure there are hoarders out there who will probably go to each and every store within a 10 mile radius and nab each and every VOTC Stormie they see.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: Pegwarmer of the Year Award

It seems that everywhere I go, they have armies of Dutch and Dodonna warming the pegs.  To my amazement, I still see plenty of Ack-Med Beq.  >:(

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: 2004 DVD Release List

They've also got a 2/$25 deal with KBV2 and Jackie Brown--which means that JB comes out to about nine bucks, if you're buying KBV2.  Great deal for a great, underrated flick (and nice DVD set, too).

Also, Circuit City is selling Jackie Brown SE DVD for $9.99.  Also included in the $9.99 sale is Beetlejuice and Predator 2.  They also have Reservoir Dogs on sale for $4.99.  And included in their 2 for $15 sale are Jeepers Creepers, Jeepers Creepers 2, Terminator, Dances With Wolves, The Manchurian Candidate, and Bowling For Columbine.

BTW, that KB slipcase is nice.  Looks like I'm buying KB2 from Best Buy tomorrow.  I'm still debating whether or not I should pick up Predator tomorrow.

Original Trilogy Collection / Re: VOTC/OTC Purchases
« on: August 7, 2004, 07:05 PM »
I bought an OTC Bespin Luke yesterday at Wal-Mart.  Finally!  That rounds off my OTC collection.  Well, to my liking, anyway.  This morning, I picked up a VOTC Vader at TRU.  I also spotted VOTC Vader and VOTC Yoda at Target.  Target also stocked 12" VOTC figs.

Just curious, is everyone able to find what they are looking for from the VOTC/OTC lines?

Yes, for the exception of the Bespin Luke/IG-88/Bossk wave.  That wave hasn't hit my area yet.  I'd really to pick up a Bespin Luke from that wave.  Other than that, I'm set.  And of course, I'm looking forward to picking up VOTC Vader (when it hits) and VOTC Stormtrooper.

There's one I forgot to mention: Paploo.  I think the vintage version is much better than the POTJ version included with the AT-ST.

Other Collectibles / Re: Unleashed Again
« on: August 4, 2004, 11:09 PM »
Well, what is this?

Oh my....

The Unleashed Stormtrooper looks great.  I hope the blaster effects are removable.  I can't wait to add the Unleashed Stormtrooper to my collection, along with Unleashed IG-88 and Unleashed Bossk.
