I'll give you a cookie if you finish them...

A WHOLE cookie, and one that you won't even have to share with the rest of the OCB family.   :o

According to your statistics page you've spent 9 days, 7 hours and 10 minutes here.

Get a move on, cupcake!

(Was that motivational enough for you?)

I know how you feel, Scott. I haven't worked on my Cloud City playset since April. :(

How about I promise to get some work done and post some pictures if you promise to get some of those customs posted? I'd like to see how that ROTJ Han looks before investing 15 bucks in making my own.

I'm willing if you're willing.

You guys cannot believe the WIP's I've got around here...  A SA Maul sits in pieces in a bag as we speak that I started back probably in 2001 maybe?  I've got sheets of plastic laying around...  I need more actually since what I have is too thick to work with easily.

Lots of stuff, no time, and no $ to buy a lot of the materials I want/need to work with.  Can't recall the last time I actually did casting even.   ::)

After thorough debate, we have agreed to acquiesce to your request.

A White Chocolate Macadamia Nut cookie it will be.

Is a Mrs. Field's cookie OK?

How's the progress going, cupcake? It's been over a month now and I want a report on this dude, he looks a little like Spalding Gray.

Now that it's winter in Minnesota I expect you to buckle down on this crap. It's going to be another long winter, and you may as well make the most out of your time inside.

Was that cough meant for me or do you have a touch of the flu?

I've been customizing a lot lately - I don't have a website other than www.thecustomalliance.com to show any of them though, and Mr. Curto is probably going to take an update break for a couple of months.

OCB - if you want I'll email you some pics of some new customs and you can show them in this thread if possible.

Well...  For what it's worth I boil/popped 4 AT-ST Han's, swapped the RIGHT arm onto the LEFT arm of 2 of them (the other two just go to the fodder pile), and swapped some left hands on.

It gives me 2 headless Scanner techs...  yeah, yeah, yeah, I'll get to the head casts and hat casts later...  Much, much, much, much, later.

 :-\

It's something though...  Right?  Like my Rebel field officer figure that needs a head and a body post made...  My SA Maul that I may scrap at the moment in hopes for one from Hasbro...  My Rebel and Imperial officers that need headcasts...  My Saga Endor Soldier redo that needs a head too.

Hey, I'm busy, and poor.  Deal with it.

Ha!  I've actually started hollowing out the Stormie Helmet to accept Han's Head

Next step is to figure out if I want to cut the head balls off of the Stormie and Han and glue it on there...or...do I find a way to cut down the Stormie ball to get Han's head on there

I think cutting and swapping makes more sense

Note to self: enable language filter.

j/k - congrats on getting off your butt, Scott! I was cutting you slack until after the holidays, glad to see you're making progress.

Well, we'll see how far I get with it.  The head ball thing has me a little perplexed.  I may just throw them in the drawer and slam it and not look at them again until next year sometime in frustration as well

Oh, and one thing I did manage to do

Get a shot of the deleted scene from Empire when Lobot is asking ICMG for a pint of I-Cyborg Ripple Fudge.

Maybe doing that will motivate me to get to my other projects.  I'm just dreaming of the encounters Dodonna will have with his new friends.  Let's just say it involved a tube of Ben Gay, some empty pickle jars and a 24 pack of AA Batteries

Hope this helps.  What I did was cut off the VOTC Stormtrooper "ball", drill in a little hole at the base of the neck/shoulders, and insert a black piece of tube for the neck for a VOTC Han's head.  It worked out well, and Han now has an articulated neck.

Did you drill out the helmet too to fit Han's head?

No - I haven't done that.  I think I need a much better dremel for that.  The one I have sucks...

Request for Scott:

I'd like to see some Super Tiny Oranges in your next project. Will you work these babies in somehow?

EDIT: I just came back to find this link for something else and it now leads to an "inappropriate" web site. I've taken the link out of the post, but if you google "super tiny oranges" you might be able to find the correct site.

The third post down on the orange page is a guy asking in Chineese for help making an "Ice Cream Maker Guy"...  :-*

Just kidding. I found it on a site I read discussing design issues.

I broke down and bought a Han/Chewie Comic Pack and last night took off the blue paint.  I then discovered all of my paints were useless...so I can't paint the eyeholes/mouthpiece/ears black.

When I took off the blue (I used Goof Off) the chest plate started getting tacky...any thoughts on how to correct?  I thought about a Matte sealant but again I don't have any more on hand :-\

It should dry up on its own Scott...  Goof-Off really is some nasty stuff, and starts to break the plastic down and cause it to melt some...  It's kind of like plastic welder that way.  I don't know if you've got one nearby but a Hobbytown USA should have some Tamiya on hand to cover your black paint needs...  The sealant you might find too there, though you should be able to get a matte one at the local WM too...

I'd give the figure a little time before jumping to seal it though.  It should dry on its own, however it may be a little rougher too now where it got the goof-off effect of stickyness on it.  :-\

give it a wash with soap and water, should take some of the tackiness off, and do that after you ever use goof off.

I haven't used goof-off, but when I use Easy Lift Off, I keep a big bowl of warm water right next to me so I can rinse the figure every minute or two.  If I don't, then it yellows and eventually cracks the plastic.
