The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Clone Wars Wave 11 (aka 2009 Wave 8)
« on: September 23, 2009, 10:39 AM »
Scum has pics of the next Wave up now, packaged and loose:

The Clone Wars - Wave 11 (aka 2009 Wave 8)
  '09 CW38 Clone Trooper Jek
  '09 CW39 Commander Bly
  '09 CW40 Aayla Secura
  '09 CW41 Hondo Ohnaka

Jek was previously referred to as Commander Thire's Trooper, so this probably will just be a repack of the 2-pack version.

Looking for these in December/January...

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: A thread about concerts.

I've been attending concerts and festivals ever since my brother convinced me to go to the Dynamo Open Air festival here in Holland in '95. Well, with the likes of Fear Factory, Machine Head, Life of Agony, Type O'Negative and an infamous one time performance by Nailbomb, I quickly became addicted to live music.

Dude, I loved this post! Eindhoven is the bomb! That's awesome you got to see the epic Nailbomb set. Max was killing it that day.

The biggest thing around here this summer was the Summer Slaughterfest, headlined by Necrophagist and Suffocation. Necrophagist was unbelievably sick.

Metal rules!

I went to see the Aquabats at Magic Mountain last saturday. That show was epic! Catboy and Chainsaw were back. Christian "Bat Commander" Jacobs was in fine form. We had front row seats. I just didn't know we were in the "splash zone". It was a great way to end a fun day at the park.

Ha ha...I remember seeing those guys on Yo Gabba Gabba, had no idea it was a real band.

Ha ha...I see I am not alone with some of my criticisms of the show.

I agree fully e, the storytelling is weak and they really need to move past Sylar. They painted themselves into a corner with that character, much like Lost did with Ben. Have a casting plan and stick to it. Book a guy for an arc, kill him and move on.

I was watching the clock by the second hour last night too, but that's probably because I'm unaccustomed to sitting in front of the TV that long.

I kept wondering "What happened to Mohinder?" - I really cannot recall. I bought the last season on DVD but couldn't bring myself to watch them again because last season was just so terrible.

Whew, I really had to dig to find this thread. I knew there had to be one though.

Is anyone still watching this show? I think it has been going downhill steadily (last season was more like falling off a cliff really) but the 2 new eps last night seemed promising.

I just wish they could have given Darth Maul a power that would have allowed him to exercise some of his prodigious martial arts skills. Have the writers REALLY run out of new powers to give characters already? We've done the Speedster thing. Also the time travel thing.

Was anyone else disappointed that the chick Claire supposedly gets freaky with this season is so appallingly unattractive? ZERO SIZZLE.

Knepper was pretty good. Glad they finally kicked Danko to the curb - that should have happened last season.

I'm already sick of Sylar again. Why not just call the show "All About Sylar" and be done with it?

If they're going to go all Carnivale this year, we needs a Clancy Brown cameo!

Also I second the "I still visit RS for one particular forum", I go back there for the Local Finds section, which is pretty much dead here unless you live in Minnesota or Los Angeles. :)

Yeah, why is that? I have noticed it as well. Do all the Star Wars fans live in only those 2 states? I started a thread for VA and it is dying from neglect.

I noticed today that the crab droid has two different packaging configurations.  Not that I care and it may have been pointed out, but hey...there it is.

Can you provide details? I hadn't noticed...

:o   :o  Luke Skywalker ORANGE HAIR   :o   :o

Does that look fake to anyone else?  Even the blonde hair one looks like weird hair coloring.

Wow, odd coincedence...I was just looking at that auction last night. Not sure what it is now, but it was over $212 at the time, so there are a lot of people who seem to think this is legit. There's a somewhat convincing blurb in the listing that attempts to lend some credibility, but I have to admit I have never heard of this particular variant.

WHEW!

I finally scored the Y-Wing this morning, and I am MAJORLY relieved. TRU had exactly 1 on the shelf, luckily in a decent box. $73 after tax, but the free Clone Trooper manual was a nice bonus. (they really did a sweet job with this thing)

I am officially caught up with every last CW toy officially available to retail outlets.

Bring on the new BP's and next Fig Wave!

The Legacy Collection / Re: Has TPM Wave been spotted at any TRU's yet?
« on: September 18, 2009, 11:13 AM »
TRU Legacy distribution has been horrible. The last wave that my local store received was the Hoth Wave. Even the Legends waves has been non-existent. My guess is that with the CW's popularity, they're devoting there resources to supporting that line.

Yeah, one would think, but around they got hardly any of the latest CW waves either and have yet to re-stock on those at all. All they have is the old style packaging.

I find it ridiculous that they re-installed their whole CW mega-display section and just threw up bits and pieces of old merchandise. What is the point?

I know they have been stocked at Walmart, and are starting to trickle in to Target, but I have yet to see or hear of any sightings at TRU.

Has ANYONE seen the new Phantom Menace wave figures at a Toys R Us yet?

Any ideas why not? ("Because they suck" IS an acceptable answer)

Count me in for all of these...I think they look great. I had ZERO interest in SW toys during the 90's so this seems all new to me.

Heck, I just think it's great they are providing new product, even if it's just re-purposed.

What SUCKS BIG TIME are those cruddy new battlepacks they are trawling out for 2010 which are STRAIGHT RE-PACKS of carded characters without so much as a new accessory or paint touch-up.

That just seems like a colossal waste of time and money, making a CW set that has 0 appeal to collectors.

I always freak out that stuff will be tough to find and of course at some point it isn't. But my normal rule of thumb as a non opener is buy it when you see it, even in a beat up box, and then exchange it for a better box when you find it again, JUST IN CASE it really does turn out to be tough to find. I'd rather have a crushed box than none at all. My two cents.

Yep, I am a non-opener too and I did exactly that with the Corporate Alliance Tank Droid. Bought the first one I saw and later exchanged it for a more minty box.

I guess the deciding factor was the expense...it would be more of an indulgence at this point. I may as well wait until I have a little more discretionary income.

Now if I finish my weekly runs Friday night and STILL haven't found anything new, I will likely change my tune.

Ahhh...Abregado, got it. Yeah, I should have made the connection. That's a great looking BP. These are available now at ToyPalace.com, which is out of Germany. Galactic Hunter had a blurb about it this morning...they have the Ryloth BP in stock too.
