The Vintage Collection / Re: Recent Vintage Collection Purchases

I was going to get the Luke, boba battle pack, but those figures have no articulation whatsoever. I was disappointed yet again. Just like I was with the MH battle pack with solo, chewie and 3PO. No disrespect, but I think they're a huge waste of money

I hear ya.  That's why I've held off on that set for the time being.  However, if I see that set go on clearance, I might reconsider.  Or, as Chewie mentioned, I see Luke or Fett for cheap on eBay, I'll bite.

I found the new Battle Packs at Target today.. picked up the Luke / Boba Fett set...

I really dig the Boba Fett figure in that pack, as well as Bespin Luke.  I've contemplated picking up that set, but so far, I've held off.

Picked up the special action set from Target today (villan set). I didn't know snaggletooth was such a big deal.

I absolutely love the new Snags fig.  And again, I really dig the Boba Fett fig because of the newer "better" paint job.  And seriously, can you ever have too many Tuskens?  Solid 3-pack IMO.

You're right Lando, and I remember how hard that last wave of TPM (Sio Bibble/TC-14 wave) was to find.  It was in limited supply, just like this wave will be, but worse.

Putting things in perspective, $12.99 isn't too bad of a price to pay for any vintage figure released post-TPM.  I mean, sure, Walmart or Target might have them priced at $10-$11 retail, but how many times have you seen anything beyond TPM vintage hanging on the pegs?

Well, since you mentioned Shmi, I wouldn't mind a "Body-Bag" Shmi figure to be included as a pack-in with an Anakin & Tatooine Speeder Bike set, especially if the figure could be slouched over the bike.

They really must not want anyone besides collectors to own a CW Season 3 Ahsoka.

For the moment, at least.  I can't see why they wouldn't re-release her at a future time.  Same with the ERG.

Modern Classifieds / FS: Tarkin wave - Loose
« on: August 10, 2012, 12:19 PM »
I ordered a case of the Tarkin wave recently from EE and have a bunch of extras.  I prefer to ship them loose since it's easier and cheaper, but will ship them carded if need be.  I paid about $12 per figure so that's what I'm asking plus shipping.  The extras I have are:

- Tarkin
- Vader (VC93)
- Bom Vimdin
- Hoth Luke
- Deleted Scene Luke
- Nikto
- Barriss Offee
- Odd Ball

It may be due to price...collector fatigue....or just the fact that a lot of people have given up going to retail to find stuff, but I was sort of surprised to see all of these still hanging from the pegs at our local store.

Where are you located?  I know in my area, you might find a lone Droid Set hanging on the pegs, but the Villian Set is nowhere to be seen, even at $24.99.

I have nothing bad to say about K-Mart.  I scored an AT-AT during a clearance sale last year for about $30, a few of the deluxe Tron figures for about $6 each, and more recently, a B-Wing for $14.99.  Can't wait for the exclusive 2-packs to show up.

I broke my quitting vow and bought a Tarkin that I saw at Wal Mart.  First retail purchase since January.  They also had Wedge, Odd Ball, and Nikto, plus a ****load of TPM guys.

You spotted the Tarkin wave at a Wal-Mart?  Lucky...

The Wal-Marts in my area have the same 2 figures time and time again: Quinlan-Vos and Battle Droid.  That's it.

I like the new Tarkin figure.  I especially like the pack-in Mouse Droid.

Not happy about shilling out $280 for these, but I guess it's not that far beyond retail.

I hope they'll take some of these for a few cases too...

I actually think the MH one looks a lot better and more like the movie character.

I agree.  I think the vintage version looks like crap with an overall "dull" look that lacks detail.  While I absolutely despise Jar Jar and would never buy a figure of him, I did see it 1st hand and was completely underwhelmed.

Guess I'll be selling or trading the extra non-army builders.

I'd definitely be interested in buying the Weequay figure from you if you're kind enough to set it aside for me.  Please.  :-)
