Toy Reviews / Re: New JD Review: 30AC Mustafar Lava Miner

I liked this figure, but he wasn't what I'd expected. You'd think with all that articulation, he'd be a bit more poseable. Oddly, I've only ever seen him in stores once.

In no particular order:
1. Grand Admiral Thrawn (Thrawn Trilogy)
2. Moff Fliry Vorru (X-Wing 2-4)
3. Captain Paelleon (Thrawn Trilogy)
4. Ton Phanon (X-Wing 5&6)
5. Nil Spaar (Black Fleet Crisis)
6. Major Tierce (Hand of Thrawn Duology)
7. Ysanne Isard (X-Wing 1-4, 8)
8. Noghri (Thrawn Trilogy)
9. Lord Hethrir (The Crystal Star)
10. Grand Moff Hissa (The Glove of Darth Vader series. He'd actually make a good figure, with lots of removable body parts he'd be perfect for customizing. Hasbro could even give him electronic sound: "I bid you Dark Greetings!")

I agree with this review mostly. I found one problem that you didn't mention however (it may not be wide spread, but all the samples I've seen have been like this). The figure has really tight knee joints. My first figure actually broke off at the knees, and I had to return it and get another one.

One other thing, the white trooper isn't a great army builder because he has a name and a story. He's General Airen Cracken from the X-Wing books. (I found this out here: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Airen_Cracken)

I ended up giving my soldier an extra Han coat, it really made the difference between a good figure and a bad one. Thanks for the suggestion!

The Han jedi is a custom for a friend who looks just like this Han figure. Otherwise I would definately have changed it. I'll try to get better shots soon.

Here they are!

Hopefully these all work. Please tell me what you think.

How do I post pictures into threads? Can I just cut and paste them from my computer?

Saga Collection '06 / Re: Any TSC Pegwarmers?
« on: August 19, 2006, 10:49 PM »
At my Target, we have had the same four Bren Derlins hanging around since February. I have tried putting them on the very bottom shelf in hopes that some kid would grab them, but it didn't seem to work. Two days ago, I went to Target, and much to my surprise there were only three Bren Derlins. Someone must have bought one!

Lushros is also a pegwarmer. My Target never got the Geonosis wave, so there are no Geonosians anywhere.

Collector's Tips / Re: Opened Cards... what to do with them?

I remove the bubbles from my cards and keep the cards themselves under my bed. I discard the bubbles. Without bubbles, cards don't take up nearly as much room.

I have 13, and that's where I'm stopping. I was aiming for 10 but got carried away.

Hello everyone! I am newly registered on this site, though I have been reading the Dark Illusions and Rykrof Enloe stories on here for some time. I am trying to learn how to make good custom figures, but I have been having a little trouble making my paint jobs come out well. So far I have mainly worked with clones.

I was wondering what types of things people are making with VTSC Greedo figures. I recently bought five of them on clearance, and I have only been able to think up one good use for them. I took the vest and holster off one, stuck an AOTC pilot Obi-Wan's cloak on him, gave him a lightsaber, and called him a jedi. It actually worked quite well.

If anyone has any suggestions about what I should make out of the other Greedos, please share them. Thanks!

Also, what is a good brand of acrylic paint sealer? I painted a Jedi Starfighter and would like to make sure that the paint doesn't chip.

I have added pictures. They are in a later post.
