For quite a while I was saving up the money to buy this piece of artwork, a very nice print titled 'Vintage Dr. Gonzo', by Ralph Steadman, signed by Ralph and the late, great Hunter S. Thompson... I just now got the print back from the frame shop today - My mom paid for the frame, for my Christmas - so I'm quite excited to have it, finally.
Here's a photo of it... sorry the photo is so small.

Very cool :) Congrats!

Wow...that is VERY cool! :o
I'd also like to add that I read an article that said that Thompson's auto was hard to get...how did you get yours?
-
Very nice -- thanks Mom! Merry Christmas a little early :)

Mom's are great...aren't they? :)
Very cool gift Brad but I am also curious about how you got the autograph.

On May 6 of '95, the 25th year of Hunter and Ralph's working together, Ralph asked Hunter to sign two series of prints, 'The Sherrif' (77 prints) and Vintage Dr. Gonzo (500 prints). Ralph says he was suspecting Hunter would refuse to, since Hunter hated autographing things... But luckily, Hunter was in a good mood and signed all of the prints.
Fast forward 10 years - I e-mailed Joe (Ralph's printer) about the "Sold Out" Vintage Dr. Gonzo print, thinking that there were probably one or two left in the artist's archive... sure enough, they had one left! Somehow I was lucky enough to be able to buy it from them... #61/500...
I imagine a few of these will show up on eBay, periodically.
PS. Nobody has mentioned how amazing I look in the photo.

Is it just me, or is there a duck flying out of a phonogram behind you?
Mementos of a misled youth, Brad? :-*
EDIT: Nice carpet. Did you shave? ;)

Nice painting, and thanks for wearing pants. I appreciate that kind of caring.

Amazing? No. Mesmerizing.
