The Clone Wars '08-'13 / Re: Ahsoka Tano w/ Rotta the Hutt?

Maybe its just my area, but with the first wave of animated sitting on pegs, I've only seen this figure once.  I wish I'd gotten her too....

Star Wars Universe / Re: Is There a "Modern Day" Star Wars?

I think in terms of overall societal impact Harry Potter has to top the list.  Between, what will be nearly an entire generation who read most/all of the books, and there will be I think 7 films total, right?  So my vote is the Harry Potter will have the biggest impact of the current crop of movies, however, I think it doesn't come anywhere close to Star Wars.  I highly doubt that in 30+ years there were be dozens of websites w/ hundreds of members each collecting Harry Potter toys, and that's just one example.  I think Star Wars is a truly unique phenomenom in that sense.

I thought that is what I'd heard.  I haven't worked my way through those books yet, so I'll hold off on that one a bit.

That was just released, right?  When does it take place, prior to the movies or after?

I've seen that 327th Star Corps Trooper twice now... so I'm barely missing the other figures it seems (Wal-Mart).

Here's a nice comparison shot of the Grievous, courtesy of a forum member at Rebelscum...

Who is his little friend?

Ya that's my point - he's the only one I ever see on the shelves so he's pretty much the only SW Mugg that I've been able to look at.

Gotcha, I meant you wouldn't have to worry, because you wouldn't be able to find the others, you meant that you'd be compelled to find the others no matter.  I follow you now....

The Legacy Collection / Re: Legacy Collection Comic Packs
« on: October 24, 2008, 09:23 AM »
I like Mandos, and like the two sculpts, but when I saw the two Marvel Mando packs at Target I just couldn't buy them.  I thought people were being a bit harsh saying they looked terrible, but they kinda do.  If they repainted these, the way they toned down the Luke and Han as Stormtrooper packs, I might revisit getting these, but as of right now I am not getting those two.

That's what I thought, I think I was reading into Darth_Anton's post.

Almost a year ago i was in Disney and they had some of the above mentioned:

Luke Frywalker
Princess Tater
Spuda Fett
Yam Solo
Darth Mash

Any signs yet on whether the Clone Tuber is an exclusive as well.  I wish I'd gotten those Disney ones....

Are the 3 3/4" battle packs on sale too?  i thought it was just the galactic hero cinema scenes.

If they were half the size they'd essentially be the same size as the 3 3/4" figures, right?  Is that part of the draw?  Oh in good news, I've seen Palpatine all over, and usually as a the only figure on the shelf, so if that's the only one you do buy, iFett, then you should have no trouble finding him.

Anyways, back to the topic, I think if Hasbro would put out battle packs just themed like "Troops of the Empire" or something with a VOTC/Tantive Stormtrooper, VTSC Snowtrooper, VTSC Scout, and TAC Sandtrooper, they would sell like hotcakes.  They could do the same for prequel troops (or Rebel troops, once they get new/better versions done).  I can also say that I'm a sucker for the OT "scene" packs like the Hoth Recon and Shield Generator packs, but I might be in the minority there too.

Brian I agree with you.  I think army builder packs would be great sellers.  I'm a big fan of the BF games, and if they did OT versions of those as a general release I think it would be very well accepted by collectors and more casual fans.

Saw and bought my first Clone Wars wave Might Mugg, Rex!  Very excited that I finally saw this.  Hopefully I'll see the others soon.

Other Toy Lines / Re: What Would Be the Last to Go?

With two little ones at home, mortgage, etc. I've had to limit myself a lot more than I used to.  So I guess I've already had to make this decision.  Today I only buy a couple LEGO sets a year, usually the medium to smaller sized ones, I usually pick up a figure or two a month, an occasional Galactic Hero two-pack and almost none of the battlepacks.  My Wife really likes the look of the Mighty Muggs, so that's one area that I've splurged in, but I've collected very little else.  No vehicles, no Titanium collection, no other licenses and definitely not any of the higher end stuff.  Not toy related, but I used to try and pick up Star Wars comics on a relatively regular basis, but that along with buying new Star Wars books and video games has had to be curtailed.
