Thanks all!!

I don't think the 30 years old thing has hit me yet.

Of course I have been getting the "Over the Hill" "Hey Gramps" etc. etc. thing all day at work.

Here there are only 3 other people that are over 30 so....

Hopefully I get some cool SW goodies today, and thanks again for the best wishes!

Scott :)

Just thought I would update you all.

Thanks to everyone for their tips, and I finally got around to implementing them.

Result is one reattached head, and one happy 4 year old!

Thanks!

Sorry about your cat dude.

I seriously hope you don't have any small children, I would be worried about them if you do.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: COOL! My car imploded!
« on: July 3, 2003, 05:19 PM »
Happened to a friend of mine too.

Opposite of yours, it was very cold outside.. they were sitting in the car with the engine running to stay warm, but because they were smoking in her parent's car she opened the window.

The sudden change from hot to cold  exploded the rear window!

Cool...

OK here is my wierd one.

Last night my wife and I watched "The Ring" for the first time on DVD.

It was scary at some points, but mainly I just found it a bit odd.  Anyway....

At about 3:30 AM my 6 year old daughter comes into our roon complaining she had a nightmare, Nadine asks her what it was about she says "there was a big deep hole"

Nadine and I just looked at each other.. I think if the phone had rung right then I would have been changing the sheets today!

To make it worse, I guess yesterady I got a sunburn and I must have slept on my hand.  I walking into the bathroom after discussing with Nadine how bizarre Haleigh's dream was and look at myself.. there is a big and print on my chest.

: insert creepy music here :

Anyway if I stop posting here after 7 days you all know what happened to me :-)

If yes why??

I just find it kinda odd, is all. ;)

Myself I like decide one board and post there.

If its a Canada related issue, I'll post on www.snowtroopers.ca

If it is vintage related and very specific I will post on RS, but if vintage related but just sort of general discussion and I don't feel like reading 20 replies of "Its amazing what you will find on the archive", or "try the search function" I will post here.

General DIscussion OT stuff, here because I like the small group.

Anybody else??

Heat up the neck peg, why didn't I think of that??

Maybe its because I am too busy working my darn car... well that's another issue.  I already have a thread running on Corey's gf Aly's Corsica Message Board, hopefully I'll have that fixed by Sat!  Car probs frustrate the heck out of me!!  Anyway, enough rant.... ;)

Here are some close ups for the experts (you can see my car repair manual in the back groud lol)...

Heating up the neck peg should work.. hopefully its sad to watch a 4 year old play with a headless toy... ;)

Thanks,

Scott

Hope this isn't too OT .. crosses fingers ..

OK, so I know its not Star Wars, but I need some help.  Don't ask me how, but my 4 year old son managed to pull the head off his Spiderman & Friends Fireman Spidy fig!.

Any ideas on how to get it back in??

I tried just forcing it in, and I can't find any obvious screws or anything to open the fig?

Any tips??

Thanks,

Scott

OK, so I have to get this one off my chest... thanks for the opportunity!

I decided a while ago I wanted to learn some web site building skills, nothing super duper, maybe something for trading etc. etc.

First I look around the 'net for a html editor, I decide on using a product called 1st Site.

I am super cheap, I download the trial version, it says it will place a link to their site on every page you create, and you get no support.  No problem... Its a WYSIWYG editor, so its easy to use, and I can then edit the html later, and learn a little as I go.

I create some pages, not bad stuff, nothing fancy but it will do.  I then go to find a free web host, but I really don't want banner ads, or pop ups.

I settle on www.freewebs.com.  Pretty good, some limitations, no FTP, no multiple file uploads, but whatever.  They also place some code on your site linking to their site.

The code is small so I fugure no big deal.

Here is where the annoying thing comes in!

I start setting up my site, I upload all my images, and some of the html pages, and I get this message saying I have uploaded my limit of 50 files!

WTF, no where did it say anything about 50 file limit, in fact I have 100 MB of space that has hardly been touched!  I do some investigation, and it turns out that recently they decided that if you uploaded 50 files you have obvioulsy decided you like their service, and if you want to continue uploading, you have to subscribe to at least one of their premium services!!

Arghhhhhhhh.  Bait and switch if you ask me!

Wait it gets worse.. the free lite version of the html editor I was using, whose only limitation is it places some code on your pages decides I have used it enough too!

I have published 30 pages (long story.. I was trying it out) and if I want to publish more, I have to buy the full version at 89.99!!

What makes matters worse, there is no warning when you get close to this amount, so my entire site is saved in their proprietary format, and I can't get it out unless I buy the full version!!!

I am soooooo frustrated!!!!

But I feel better now.  I found a new free host that is better anyway, hopefully they don't pull the same crap as freewebs.  I also am going to install the 1site s/w on my work computer, and hopefully I can import the site I created, export it to pure html, and find a new editor to use!

/ end rant.

Thanks, I feel much better!!

Scott :)
