First, I'm 18 champ.

Second, you LP Haters:

As I said, to each his own.

Kevin

See, it's a generation gap too, I'm sure.
My first thought when you said LP haters?  huh!? Most of these were LPs when they were released?!
sigh... lets see- you are 18 so vinyl was already getting rare when you were born.

Funny story, I own a record player and a whole shatload of records. ;)

Kevin

Boy, I am taking some heat in this thread. :P

Well, I gotta back you up here Kevin, Linkin Park is one of my favourites too.  However, I actually prefer Meteora over Hybrid Theory:

Oh, by the way, when you said LP haters, you meant Linkin Park haters, not LP (Long Play record) haters, didn't you?  At least that's how I understood it.   :)

Sorry, my post might not have been clear... He didn't really say that. It's a little creative writing by someone regarding what we all think he was thinking.

String him up anyway.  A man who hits a woman is lower than dirt.  Period.

Anyway,  I’m gonna smash some bitch in the face with ‘em, hopefully my wife, a  feeble mother of two.”

String him up by his left nut, then see how tough he is.  Garbage.

Thanks to all that fought in the past and serve in the present - they allow us to enjoy the freedoms we have today.

Wait, wait, wait... 8 different Stormtroopers?

Holy ****. Glad I'm not a completist anymore.

Yeah, I ordered those stormtroopers too - figured 3 of the 3-packs would give me all of the possible poses.

Stormtrooper Bust-Ups

But do I really need more stormtroopers just to get the exclusives?  We'll see.

The first movie I actually remember going to was E.T.

There were probably others before it, but nothing affected me the way this movie did.  I still remember crying all the way from the theatre to the car, and then all the way home because E.T. went home (gee, I hope this isn't a spoiler  ;))

OCB, I wouldn't recommend The Incredibles for a toddler - my 3 year old girl was pretty spooked by the movie.  Just a little too much action for her (of course, I got a big kick out of it).

My first trade with Dale, and hopefully not the last!  This guy makes you feel comfortable trading.  Great communication, fast and secure shipping.    8)

Many thanks!

Thanks guys, I love delving back into the threads to remember what the hot items of the day were.  Obviously Kubricks are grabbing a lot of people's attention today!  I've played with the idea of getting into these, I've never even seen one with my own eyes.   Hmmm...

My monopoly on the name has ended.

Nah, judging by your # of posts, I've got a ways to go  :)

Well, that's a relief!  Obviously I'm not a regular there, but losing any big name Star Wars sites is a bad thing for everybody.

RIP CSW.com
RIP ArtoosNews.com

What else am I missing?

Watto's Junk Yard / thejawa.com?
« on: November 9, 2004, 03:04 AM »
I guess I haven't been there for a month or so, but does anybody know what happened to thejawa.com?

I know they reconfigured a while ago, but neither the old link or the new link work.

Have we lost another longstanding Star Wars website?

Catherine Bell will always be one of my favourites - must be that whole "women in uniform" thing.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Scalper
« on: November 8, 2004, 04:18 PM »
I gotta agree pretty much with what you've said.  Buying one extra vs buying multiples seems to be a good way to distinguish between helping and scalping.  I've never done any trading in the past until this month when I found 2 variant NHL Legends.  I figured there would be people out there (ie. globally) that would be interested in this, even if I wasn't.  Being from a small town, I figured more than anything they would just sit there, and sit there.  So I picked them up and believe I traded fairly to make us happy on both ends of the trade.  Did I hurt anybody by doing this?  Not in my mind.

Now if I had come across a case of, say, all variants and bought them, well that would just seem wrong.  Granted, the line between these two areas can be a little fuzzy - is buying one extra okay?  2 extra?  3 extra?  I'm not sure.

Oh, good stuff!  I came across that Rage Mix before and loved it.  But that Leviathan Mix may even be cooler - the techno edge is slick.

Newbies / Hello, eh!
« on: November 8, 2004, 03:07 PM »
Good day, [edit: ladies and] gentlemen!  My name's Jesse (you probably figured that out), and I'm a proud Canadian collector.  But don't hold that against me!   ;)

I must admit I've been lurking around here for a few months, and really enjoy the laid back atmosphere.  You regulars seem to have a pretty tight knit group, so I'm barging in.   ;D

I'm basically a modern collector of the 3 3/4" line, from POTF2 to OTC.  For the most part, my figures stay carded, but the occasional figure leaps out of the package.  I also love the Unleashed line, which obviously must be opened.  I'm also getting quickly interested in GG mini-busts and bust-ups (which Nataku, er Jeff, kindly helped me into by selling me a couple).

I live in a town of 5000, so unfortunately I don't often have a whole lot of sightings to report.  So that leaves the internet to satisfy my needs.

Anyway, I look forward to contributing what I can!

And remember: Here at JediDefender, we love you. Unless you're an *******.

I just love that quote.   :D

Are you shi**ing me?  We stayed until about half way through the credits, that's how long it took to get my little girl dressed up to leave.   I wonder if they want to see it again tonite?   :-\

You know, I often stay to watch all of the credits, just 'cause you never know what you'll see.  The one freakin' time we rush out the door...  Arrrgh!!!
