At what point did Hasbro identify them all as SDCC exclusives?  Because I could see one or more being exclusive to Celebration Chicago.

Sorry I missed your question earlier.  I think that was some post-panel miscommunication.  Early reports I read had them listed as SDCC, but on this NYCC panel slide, it just says "Convention Exclusive" so it could be any mix of SDCC, Celebration or whatever.

I kind of figured that might be the case.  I think it's a fair bet that the exclusives are going to be spread across a number of events.

The background is totally from Canto Bight.  The stained glass has images of the fathier races.  The thing is, there were a bunch of waiter droids in the casino scenes, and they looked like protocol droids.  I appreciate the effort though.

Most of all?  Im glad to see this holiday droid is a little more subdued. Because the Halloween one for this year is just obnoxious.

I still remember buying that 6" TBS slave Leia.  The lady at the checkout in Target definitely took notice.  I don't know if she was offended or what, but she made a pronounced remark about the figure when I bought it.  And that was 5 years ago.

Wasn't there a blurb that Slave Leia would never be made again? Or was that just speculation? I suppose they can call it "Heroine Leia". Heaven help the graphic designer who misspells it 'Heroin Leia".

It was hype and never confirmed IIRC. Also, Hasbro never called her slave anything, but "Jabba's Prisoner".  The Slave Leia  term was mostly a fan phrase from what I gather. And almost no one uses "heroine" anymore. I mean DC SUPER HERO GIRLS is a clunky name, but at least there's nothing drug sounding.  ::)

The 6" Black Series version is labeled as Princess Leia (Slave Outfit) on the packaging.  But it does seem like sentiment about Leia in this outfit has shifted.  I even remember seeing a TV news piece about how one parent was so offended to see the 6" TBS Slave Leia in a toy section at either Target or WalMart, and it had been in the stores for close to 2 years.

There are a couple of TVC exclusive figures that I'm curious about if we're looking at the number sequence (VC 136 & 137) since they ahead of the Han Solo and 41st Elite Corps Clone that were announced.

I finally got a chance to rewatch the NYCC panel today and I noticed this time that Steve Evans says that the eight TVC figures left to be revealed are all from the Original Trilogy (around the 34min mark of this video).

ANH Han, ANH Chewie, and Bespin Luke have been rumored for a long time.  Vader, Hoth Leia, and Fett were rumored earlier this spring too but those could just be the TVC re-releases they announced at NYCC.

Thoughts or guesses on who/what we're getting?  Below are the eight that are left to be revealed for Spring/Summer 2019.

Basic Figures:
2019 VC141 To Be Announced [2019 Wave 02]
2019 VC149 To Be Announced [2019 Wave 03]

2019 VC136 To Be Announced [?? Exclusive]
2019 VC137 To Be Announced [?? Exclusive]
2019 VC144 To Be Announced [?? Exclusive]
2019 VCxxx To Be Announced [SDCC Exclusive]
2019 VCxxx To Be Announced [SDCC Exclusive]
2019 VCxxx To Be Announced [SDCC Exclusive]

There's a lot to read into all of this.  And frankly it comes across as kind of disappointing if they're really going all OT for the foreseeable future.  Especially when you have new films like the sequels, Rogue One and Solo that are fertile territory for some new figures and characters.

The only retread/reissues that I'd really like to see?  Reissue the 3.75" Black Series Han Solo in carbonite with the new facial printing technique and put it on a POTF or ROTJ card.  Because the original release came out with TERRIBLE paint apps.  And try to finally get a Bespin Luke Skywalker right, or at least the paint apps.  They've missed the mark on that figure's deco so many times that it's sad.

The one point of contention I have is regarding the Convention exclusives.  At what point did Hasbro identify them all as SDCC exclusives?  Because I could see one or more being exclusive to Celebration Chicago.

I've been seeing reports of the new wave with the Imperial Patrol Trooper showing up on Facebook.  And from the look of the price tags it looks like they're showing up at GameStop.

Is this really worth $50 for me?  Hmmmm

But then here I am tracking auctions on eBay for that TRU exclusive 2-pack that has Han Solo and Greedo that I passed on at the time...

Probably not.  It seems to be turning up at WalMart stores in some quantities now.

I meant that as a retail exclusive.  People would go bananas if Sim Aloo was a con exclusive!

Oh dont worry others have picked up the ball as if they created it. 😆

But lost a significant number of their sponsors, evidently.

God that would be boring...

Give me Sim Aloo or give me death.

Sim Aloo would be a good exclusive choice.  And that's simply because I could see the potential for that figure to be a major pegwarmer in the mainline.

Check out this press release, because Toys R Us is coming back!

Geoffrey, LLCs Assets to Be Acquired by Its Secured Lenders

WAYNE, NJ October 2, 2018 Geoffrey, LLC, Toys R Us, Inc.s intellectual property holding company subsidiary, announced today that it is moving forward with a plan for substantially all of its assets to be acquired by a group of investors led by Geoffrey, LLCs existing secured lenders.
The announcement was made following a five month marketing effort by Boston-based Consensus, an investment bank retained to market the assets of Geoffrey, LLC, that resulted in several formal and informal proposals to acquire the intellectual property assets. After considering such proposals, it was determined that the proposal from the existing term lenders was meaningfully higher and better than any other global bid or the sum of the bids received on individual assets. The transition of the business to its new owners is pending approval of the United States Bankruptcy Court and all major creditor constituencies are supportive. Geoffrey, LLC thanks all parties that participated in discussions with the company over the prior months, particularly those that submitted proposals, for their thoughtful and diligent engagement.

Geoffrey, LLC, as reorganized, will control a portfolio of intellectual property that includes trademarks, ecommerce assets and data associated with the Toys R Us and Babies R Us businesses in the United States and all over the world, including a portfolio of over 20 well-known toy and baby brands such as Imaginarium, Koala Baby, Fastlane and Journey Girls. The reorganized company will own rights to the Toys R Us and Babies R Us brands in all markets globally, with the exception of Canada. It will also become the licensor of the brands to the companys existing network of franchisees operating in countries across Asia, Europe and the Middle East, and in South Africa.

In addition to continuing to service these markets, the new owners are actively working with potential partners to develop ideas for new Toys R Us and Babies R Us stores in the United States and abroad that could bring back these iconic brands in a new and re-imagined way. Geoffrey LLC will provide additional detail on this front as it becomes available.

There are additional rumors circulating about the brand, and that they may launch pop-up shops for the holiday season that will be located within a national retail chain, with the possible name "Geoffrey's Toy Box".  My personal theory is that it may be a partnership with Macy's stores.

I managed to pick up the 6" TBS Veers today.  I checked out using my Walgreens rewards card and it rang up at $12.99!

It was tempting to see those in Tunghori's store.  Beckett looked pretty good!  And based on them turning up there, I would think that these will probably show up in the usual U.S. retail chain around the beginning of November.
