Title says it all, what would you like to see for VTSC Series 3, if there is one? My picks:
-Imperial Commander w/ SA, Soft Goods Tunic, Removable Kepi, and E-11 Rifle
-Jawa w/ SA, Soft Goods, Ion Rifle, and Restraining Bolt
-Rees-Yees w/ SA, Staff, and Palace Blaster
-Rebel Commando w/ SA, Soft Goods, Removable Helmet, and Rifle
-Imperial Snowtrooper w/ SA, Soft Goods, and E-11 Rifle

I would like a considerable amount of figures done in the VOTC style, but for next year, I would like the following figures.
A New Hope
Walrus Man
Jawa- Soft Goods Cloak
The Empire Strikes Back
Snowtrooper- Soft Goods Skirt
Luke Skywalker- Bespin Fatigues
Return of the Jedi
Princess Leia- Soft Goods Endor Fatigues
Emperor Palpatine- Soft Goods Cloak

Jawa(s) - I don't think Hasbro would double up on them, but you'd expect it given the price.
Death Star Trooper - Round it out. SA w/ mouse droid.

Endor Leia - SA w/ poncho & helmet

Walrusman - the last of the original 12.
Then I'd say a SA Snowtrooper is an absolute must.
And finally... OK, it's from ROTJ, but we need a well done Emperor!

Absolutely, finish the first 12 and be done with it. That way I can make use of my second vinty display stand to display the original 12 and the VOTC remakes together on identical displays 8) And that would mean not Walrusman, he not of original 12 my young padawan (ok, Dale's padawan). Jawas and Death Squad Commander pretty please.
I would have asked for a sandtrooper with changeable pauldrons, but the Evolutions version is suitable enough. Would have been a great pack-in though, changing ranks could have been fun.
Snowtrooper would be awesome, only if they lose that cannon though, it'd be a copout as a pack-in.
Hoth Han/Hoth Luke/Hoth Leia could be pretty sweet, though I think for Leia I would prefer the Endor as well.

VOTC Series 3... Hmmm.
-ANH: Death Squad Commander... I hope they don't do a cloth "skirt" piece on him but rather a sculpted (and flexible) one. Removable headset and helmet. I'd prefer they did him up grey on the VOTC card though, and later release the same figure in all black on a basic card. I DEFY you not to buy a dozen! :)
-ANH: Luke Skywalker Do-over... An all-sculpted Luke. Be cool if they included an apology Stormtrooper belt along with the figure. ;) I just have a hell of a time accepting that first one. It's got a lot of good ideas, but man I want a single great SA Luke from ANH. Yeah, hate me for wanting to buy a 2nd VOTC Luke ANH for $10. ::)
-ESB Hoth Rebel Soldier... White uniform him even though the vinty is in a brown vest. He's still a soldier by the card's picture, so I say do the soldier up. I figure if it exists, there's at least a remote chance it'll reship at some point.
-ESB Hoth Han Solo... Despite all the arguing and 2 coat colors, they still f'd that figure up with a wide leg pose and action feature. We need a new figure of Han Hoth... A removable hood and hat would be fantastic.
-ROTJ Endor Rebel Commando... Same as the Hoth Trooper but sculpt it like the vinty figure with the half opened coat. Very cool figure.
Then I think it'd be great if Hasbro canned VOTC and just made super articulated figures a standard thing throughout the basic line and re-released all the VOTC on basic cards throughout the line's life. Finally do something sensible with these fantastic figures. Hell I'll buy almost all of them over again but I pass on Han Cantina every time I've seen him repacked... :) Gimme VOTC and I'm buying.
Of course...
I also see the argument for rounding out the first 12 and calling it quits if they'd wisen up and do super articulation (or damn close ala the AT-AT Driver) as the line standard too... Be good for that lame early bird display stand.

Boushh Leia at one point in time could have been VTSC. Because she outranks her wave in Articulation. They wanted an Leia out in the Basic Line, with the Early Bird Leia being in EB, They went with Boushh Leia instead of a Slave Leia, or Endor Leia or even a Hoth Leia.

Just curious, but why are we calling these things VTSC? It's still VOTC to me - they're still only doing OT figures, so why call it Saga collection?

Because the packaging now says "The Saga Collection" instead of "Original Trilogy Collection". Just a way to differentiate these from the last batch I guess...
But feel free to call them what ever you want. :-*

Han Solo - Hoth
I want a Hoth Han (third attempt) first and foremost. I don't think I'd be very excited about a soft goods parka-- but just the hood, so that it can be worn up or down, would be perfect. Add a removable hat underneath and I'd be sold. He'd need articulated hips like VOTC Luke or the #38 Clone to ride a Taun Taun.

A Snowtrooper is definitely needed as well. I can't stand the kitbash that is lurking around the pegs right now.
Those are my top picks/wants. I'd also be up for a Death Star Trooper, Endor Luke, Endor Leia, a Bespin Guard, and an Emperor that's on-par with (but with a better hood) the Evo Palpatine.

Because I'm holding out hope that they'll make all 103 or 105 or whatever number it was of the original vintage line into this new format - and I'm hoping that they'll keep it focused, specific and very consistent.

You know there were rumors that all the vintage figs would be done over time. Possibly in the VOTC fashion ??? But unfortuneately if Hasbro continues the way they release them it will never happen. My point on this is that they need to release at least one boring (pegwarmer) character (like Rancor Keeper) in each series. If they continue to make all the main characters in the first few series, then what? The remaining obscure figs will be last? It would never happen. Im one of the few who is all for one boring character in each one of these waves to keep things milked a bit longer.

I liked some of the VOTC, and will get the new ones to get my georgetrooper, but at 12.00 each, I don't want to see the whole line (vintage or modern) done this way.
With the quality of the artwork we have seen on the OTC and Saga cards, wow, they are beautiful to display- I don't need vintage cardboard at a rate of $7.00 extra dollars per figure. I would rather see comtech Leia done on a Saga card than a VTSC, same with the remaining bounty hunters. To me, the appeal of the original VOTC was enhanced because cardbacks up to that point had been so lame- generic blue background, generic green background, generic Maul background. Now that we are getting scene specific artwork on each figure, the clamshell and ornate packaging look less exciting.

Very well said, I think that sums up how I feel about these. I love the figures and the packaging is great, but I don't need to pay double for something I'm going to want to open anyway.

A lot list Rebel Trooper (Hoth), and I always wonder... Would you want the brown vested guys, or would you want a true white uniformed Hoth Rebel soldier? Me I'd want the true film-accurate Hoth Rebel over the brown vested Officers/Crewmen. :-\ Especially in a VOTC format where articulation is going to be unreal on it.

Oh that is a tough one...can I have both if I say please?
I guess if it is going to be VOTC it would have to be Echo Base trooper with the brown vest, since we got the Rebel Commander with Maj. Derlin already and that vintage figure was the closest to the true Hoth Rebel Foot soldier.
I'd really like the VOTC treatment on the Foot Soldier though...with a couple unique switchable heads (but that would not be very Vintage-esque)...
But I'd take a whole Hoth Wave...

Biggs Darklighter in either X-Wing gear or his cut scene duds. Sure, maybe no one else wants him, but he'd be pretty darn cool.
ESB:
Han Solo in bespin gear/jacket. Sure, there's a pretty good one out there with POTJ Bespin Capture Han, but he's not "super articulated" at all and the head is a mediocre likeness. We have (okay, I don't own one... yet) a great ANH Han and an awesome ROTJ Han on the way, and this would really complete it I think.
For that matter, I think a lot of people would love to see a VTSC Han Solo Hoth Outfit- erm, Hoth Battle Gear figure. The Saga figure reeks of 1995ish and has a likeness resembling Chevy Chase, although it's not truly a bad figure... but Hoth Han is a well-loved classic and deserving of the VTSC treatment.
On that note, I'd like to see a VTSC Hoth Luke, but that's just me <3
Luke Skywalker in Bespin Fatigues is another likely choice. The Saga figure is great, but I'd love to see a truly SA version with a lightsaber that could attach to his belt (and just think, that itself would be a vintage throwback, since it would be the first Luke Bespin figure that had one since then) and a more general-purpose face.
A new VOTC C3PO that's a real C3PO, with bending knees and swivel elbows and removeable limbs! Not to mention a good likeness and vacuum-metallized paint.
I don't really lust for a SA Snowtrooper, but it's high time for one. The TSC kitbash = lame.
SA Lando in Han Solo's clo-, um, Smuggler Gear. Maybe he only had one scene, but you all know you want him! Think how multi-purpose this figure would be! He would be the height of awesomeness.
ROTJ:
SA Luke Skywalker Jedi Knight, preferably with removeable cloth robes so he could also be Death Star II Luke. Or heck- throw in the poncho and helmet, too, and a removeable right hand (one gloved, one not) and you've got a Luke that covers all but one scene of ROTJ...
Maybe he's boring, but I would need him. Need him I tell you! Saga Jabba's Palace Luke is cool but far from "ultimate."
Endor Leia with softgoods is an awesome idea. I'd definately buy one.
SA General Lando. Again, the saga figure is good, but better could be achieved.
SA Admiral Ackbar. He could be a pegwarmer for a VTSC figure, but I'd like to see a new one that could sit and gesture and cross his arms and do all that good stuff.
