I didn't see a separate thread for this (and if it needs to be broken off into its own thread, please feel free to do so), but after seeing the display photos at Yakface.com this morning, I think I might have a fairly decent idea of what we can expect as far as the April 2, 2005 initial product rollout. I just put everything together in a list to see how much we would need to be putting back as far as cash flow goes for that date.
So, here's what I got from the photos and other lists online. I'm fully expecting Hasbro and retail to charge out the ass for this stuff (it looked as if the WM price on the lightsabers has gone up at least two dollars, but then again, it is somewhat obscured), so I didn't include prices. I guess it can be edited as we find out more information.

I remember at the Saga launch Hasbro was able to sneak a few more figures (Yoda and Dooku and friends) right in at the launch and those suckers were a little hard to find
With the next few waves due in May I wouldn't be totally suprised if it goes beyond those first 24 figures
Also, the leaked case seemed to be 12 figures per case all 1 per case. That's good news...no shortpacking and with what looks to be an all out onslaught of figures, it should be easy to get sets

I want lots of the rest, but must try to resist. I can pass on the deluxe, two packs, vehicles/beasts, unleashed, 12" and light sabers (though the colour change vader is tempting ::)). GH and Force Battlers I'll be surprised to see. I'll pick up the former, but not sure about the latter.
I'm sure April 3rd or so I'll be reporting I have them all :'(

I know for a fact that I'll be picking up all of the basic figures, but that's because of that damn completist gene in me. As well, I'll be hoping to pick up the Unleashed (one of my favourite lines), Galactic Heroes (those things are just too frickin' cute ;)), and the Force Battlers (if they make it up here, they look kinda neat). If the price is right, I'm also hoping to pick up a few vehicles. I've never collected the 12" line; and I've only ever bothered to pick up the OTC Darth Vader Lightsaber, not really interested in the rest.

I'll try to hold out as much as possible, but I'm sure I'll end up getting most of the basic figures pretty quickly. I'll get the Unleashed too and who-knows-what-the-heck-else. Oh well, you can't

Way too much money...
$300.00+ if all I buy is the 24 basic figures (in duplicate) assuming Walmart is still only charging $5.88
Then tack on two of each of the deluxe, one of each of the Unleashed, one of each of the playets, one of each of the vehicles and you're looking at around $600...
Which might just be too rich for my blood - I might have to spread some of that junk out.

That's the funny thing about Midnight Madness, and "April 2nd" in general - we feel like we have to get it ALL immediately. It gets so hyped up that it seems like that's the only day it'll ever be available. You tend to forget there's gonna be plenty of it to go around for months to come. :P
That said, I'll be shooting for a complete set (in duplicate) on April 2 as well! I think by the time I finally made it out of the Midnight Madness last time for Saga, my several trips through the store that night tallied me near the $700 range, or thereabouts. Painful, that night was! :-\

I sure hope you're right. My Canuckian mentality is that if I see it now, I probably won't see it tomorrow, so I'd better buy it now. I'd like to think that this will be different for ROTS, but the past years of paranoia are simply too strong to wait. :-\

I agree - I think expecting to pick up 32 figures on April 2nd is closer to what might be the case. So for me, since I get one MOC and the other to open - that's a total of 64 figures and if I get them at Target or Walmart for $6 each that comes to $384 just in basic figures. Then there's the deluxe figures, the battle arenas, the 12" figures, the vehicles! Definitely a painful night/day for my wallet!

Last time, I made sure to get all of the standard figures during Midnight Madness. You will never know who will be rare in a few days. However, ships and beasts and deluxe figures will always sit on the shelves. During the summer of '02, I bought one ship or beast or whatever each week. It made it more fun having stuff to buy while searching for newer waves.

I'm planning some army-building with the clones, however for the basic infantry I'll only get a couple at first. Looks like 53 total. I'm leaning towards buying extras of the apology Jedi figures to replace the crap that was Saga Jedi that I had bought and to stand in for their less articulated TPM counterparts. That's why I have extras listed next to those figures. Same goes for some OT stand ins (Emperor and ERG) and Dooku for Episode II. I'm still amazed there will be that much product that day. I think there will be lots of reports of mayhem of people not finding everything at each store :-\

I think that's a smart move Jesse, given you collect carded stuff. You do run the risk down the road of not finding stuff, especially given where you live. For loose stuff though, I just have no worries.

I could easily pick up around 30-40 figures, but I'll be the annoying ass buying up the army builders. I don't think I'll go with too many of them, but two of each if I can find them. A lot will depend on where I end up for the sale. If we go to the states, I'll split stuff between Target and the TRU so I can get one or two of each exclusive figure. Anyone want to save me a trip, I can send them cash now for the 2nd? ;) That might ruin the fun though.
I think I'll end up keeping 9 of the first 12 figures (see, resolve out the window already). I'll likely by one each of the remaining Jedi (8 figures, 10 if I pick up a Dooku and later Anakin). Two each of the various clones/guards/pilots would be another dozen figures. Then a smattering of other figures mixed in.

Is Hasbro planning on releasing all of these figures at a ratio of 1 per case of 12 figures? I realize it doesn't quite fit the mathematics with only 56 rather than 60 figures, but that seems the pattern from the Collection 1 and 2 cases found thus far.
If so, I'm feeling even more negativity towards this line. To get a single clonetrooper or guard figure out, they'll have to put out a case of 12, mostly loaded with some pretty shady figures.
From collection one I can see Ani, Obi, clone, Vader selling for sure and hopefully some army builder lives around me to buy up the battle droids, but they sat through Ep II, so my hope is diminished somewhat. But the rest worry me a fair bit. I guess Yoda, Mace, Palpatine, Grievous and his body guard will sell, but I dunno.
Collection II is also a bit disturbing. The royal/senate guard and jedi will sell. But what of the more minor characters or less fancy figures. 3PO is a nice shiny figure, but has piss poor articulation.
Presumably Hasbro has no real clue as to what the multiple figures should be in cases. I'm hoping that later cases have more clones of all sorts, but I'm really not holding my breath :-\

Just noticed while looking around Hasbro's revamped site today that they have a new "Action Toy Arena" which shows of most of the ROTS figures in the 360 degree view style, and moving them around. Kind of a neat way to check out some fo the figures from both Collection 1 and 2 (as well as Force Battlers, Vehicles, etc.).

We know people have found some of the figures that come in the "Wave 3" assortments but from what I've been told, the stock rooms in the back are mostly Waves 1 & 2 of both collections.

Found more ROTS today (only hours before April 2)
12" Greivous, Anakin ultimate villain, Emperor, and clone
all figs up to #32, palmtalkers-passed, yoda interactive-passed(he's big), lego passed.
The 12" Anakin is freaky awesome. 2 sabers, red/blue, 2 different hilts.
Greivous is nice, but the 4 saber hilts are jsut a dull greay, still a nice fig. Emperor comes with the hood down and a great head sculpt.

I was thinking the same thing Scott. Many people have now found all the way up to #44, and the movie isn't even released yet. So, basically, 12 more figures (announced) left, hypothetically, for the rest of the year. I'm with you, those last 12 have to be coming between now and August/September, with another 2-3 waves of figures coming between September and the end of the year.

As you can see in the above pic, there's been some apparent last minute changes by Hasbro to #'s 54 to 56 (this image was cropped from the back of the III-54 card).
III-54 - now called the AT-RT Driver instead of the Turbo Tank Driver
III-55 - swapped with III-56 - now is Obi-Wan
III-56 - swapped with III-55 - now is Mustafar Sentry

Cody Baccara sucks a$$. It is a horrible figure that only looks good in the package. The moment you open it, huge HUGE dissapointment. :'( :'( :'(
Gatillo, I don't know if you customize, but there's a very easy fix with this figure as you can remove his helmet, skirt and shoulder pad and replace them on a Clone #41 rather easily like I did here -

I will, I started out doing Sith and Jedi in TPM clearances were you get got Naboo Obi, Qui-Gon and Maul at a buck of 2 for a buck.

I wish EE would hurry up and post their new SWE3 upcoming case assortments so we know about more possible repaint figs rereleases, how many of what type of new(57-68) figure per case ect.

Anyway, I do not read or speak German (French and Norwegian) and though Norwegian is similiar . . . I don't want to try a translation.
If this is true, sounds like Hasbro is getting it right by putting 2 each of the Commanders and 3 each of the 501st. Then again, I don't believe case assortments too much until I find them on the floor. I would say that the Nov. date in Germany could mean a Sept. release here, or it could mean a release date near the DVD release! I don't want to wait that LONG!!!!

Keep in mind that case assortments and release dates in Europe are different than here in the U.S. I highly doubt this will be true here. We're going to get the new 12 in 3 or 4 waves and will start seeing them in about two months.

I've noticed that EE has accurate case assortments- occasionally H will sell a different ass. to somebody (and it isn't represented on EE) but it's infrequent.

Noticed unfortunately, that Hasbro's case assortments look nothing like what was hopefully posted earlier instead dissapointingly full of rehashes-with many of the (next 12) only one to a case- I REALLY better get to the stores early

That website is ridiculous, although....did anyone see the new super deformed Kmart figues??!! ??? :o That's the first I heard there would be a second wave of those, thanks for the roundabout heads up to look for this in my stores guys!!

There's a bit more 'musical-chairs' being done at Hasbro.
#68 (Wookie heavy Gunner) has inserts which label him as #64.
#64 (R4P17) has inserts which label the droid as #68)
Actually, I think this is a mixup, and not product-change. Kinda like
the Maul/Han OTC mixup.
