Yes, it is an amazing face sculpt. I pray that is what the final product will look like. This is why I hate the exclusives. I will undoubtedly miss out on it. Oh well.

It looked totally aweome on display at CIV and yes- it comes iwht a training remote AND a holographic Leia it seems. Which is the exlusive? No idear

I totally agree. I don't think I have ever seen SS crash since the very beginning of ordering stuff. I guess they are going to pick up the slack of server disasters now that MR is leaving ;)

Incredible as it sounds-I just got to work, tried the number and GOT THROUGH!! Crap, it took the girl less than 15 seconds to place my order. I just gave her my name, verified my address and my order number starts with a P.

I got thropugh online abot 15 min ago. I was in a meeting at work and i knew my girlfriend couldnt get through on the phone. Lucky the exclusive wasnt sold out.

Finally managed to get it outline after trying a link someone posted at scum. Like always, getting to the login screen is the most difficult part. After that, everyone smooth as silk.

I kept on trying online and it just would not get through. But I had three customer service phone numbers that I kept trying and eventually one of those panned out.
So much for Sideshow being able to handle a pre-order. This was a mess.

Okay, it was my turn to have a hard time. I tried for 40 min. to get connected, but to no avail. each time I tried ended up in a failure to connect message. I tried on the phone too but I kept on getting disconnect. All the while my buddy was E-mailing me "Did you get it? Did you get it?". Finally I said "You try." He responded in like 50 seconds that he got it! I sent him my account info, and he got in again and was able to use my rewards as well. I'm trying for 40 and don't even connect and he orders 2 in 3 minutes!
I got my order confirmation e-mail soon after.

Sweet! I emailed customer service and they suggested calling the store. I emailed back that all I'd been doing for the past 30 minutes WAS calling the store line and getting busy signals. I has JUST gotten a response from them to call another number when I got through on the phone. I gave them my email address, name and phone number and they told me I'd get an email by the end of the day with my order number.

I'm tempted to pick up this Obi-Wan... it's freaking beautiful. Is there any major difference between Sideshow Exclusives and the regular releases?

Generally just an accessory... not sure what it is with Ben- he's got a training remote and a holographic Leia. I'd guess the Leia is the exclusive but...

There is no difference between the Sideshow Exclusive figures and the regular editions. The Exclusives usually come with a unique accessory, in the case of Ep IV Obi-Wan, a small holographic Leia statue. The packaging also comes with a gold sticker distinguishing it.
In my opinion, for the most part the exclusive accessories add little to the overall enjoyment of the figures (Bibs special staff? Jabbas glass? Crumbs dragonfly?). Of course there are exceptions, I like to display my Darth Maul with his broken saber halves, and the upcoming Asajj Ventress with the extra head will be like owning two unique figures.
I look forward to the little Holo-Leia, it should pair up nicely with the 1/6 R2 I have.

I had to check my account this morning because I made a phone order yesterday but will not be able to check my home e-mail until Sunday. I have one of the exclusive versions on order and will have to display that small holo leia with one of my 1/6 scale R2's! ;D

I was browsing around Sideshow's website, and it looks like the 12" Obi-Wan is estimated to ship in late December, as opposed to the more generic 4th Quarter 2007 that was originally posted.
Think he'll arrive before Christmas?

Yes, I got mine too. It's certainly possible that we could get these by Christmas, but I'm not going to be surprised at all if we don't. The reason I say this is because it's exactly 15 business days until Christmas. I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I have all my Sideshow stuff shipped through UPS. I think they deliver on Saturday's during the Christmas season, but it's still going to be pushing it.
If I get him, awesome present. If not, what a way to bring in the new year! :D

Not that I mind but it would have been nice to get a slight heads up for financial planning-"Oh.. by the way, late November/December we'll be charging your CC $190.. have a nice day". It's not like the pre-orders were a few weeks apart like this.
Oh well... more to be happy about.. and more to be depressed about >:(

I'm definitely digging a hole for myself, I barely got Bespin Luke and ANH Leia on the shelf, Jango's due any day now, I gave in and ordered that RAH Stormie at SWS during black Friday and that just came in, now Ben. Thankfully I get him a little cheaper because of the rewards points I used.

Just got my tracking email from Sideshow!! Obi-Wan will be here by Friday :D. I think I will have more presents under the tree from the cat than anyone ;).

I was off on my initial assessment of the processing and shipping time for Sideshow. I had originally thought it would be a few days after Christmas that we'd start seeing these, but this was a very pleasant surprise for sure.

Well, the cat let me open my present early, so here he is!!
I have pictures of Hasbro's version on the left for comparison. This is probably as perfect a figure as you can ask for. The extra hands, saber (and the holo Leia) just add to an incredibly detailed figure and, IMHO, the best one Sideshow has made.

Sweet pictures. I really love that figure. However, I think I like the Hasbro outer-robe better. The inside seams on the Sideshow one seem kind of "frizzy"

Hey, hey, hey! Old Ben has made his way to my house. I was getting a little worried since UPS normally doesn't deliver until after 5:00pm around here, but they just showed up at 2:15pm to deliver Obi-Wan to me. I'm leaving town in just a little while, so I was concerned that he might have to sit outside all night and all day tomorrow until I got home, but it's all good.
This marks the first time I've ever gotten a 12" Sideshow figure without a piece of tissue paper in between the two windows. There's no damage, but that's just strange. Great figure though and I couldn't be more pleased with the job that Sideshow did with it. The little blue Holographic Leia is simply beautiful!

I got mine today as well. I've already got him out of the box and up with my other Sideshow and RAH 12" figures. What a great job they did on this figure!
ONe small problem though, the puch that is on his belt was coming off when I took him out of the box, but I was able to fix it easy enough.

I was really impressed with my Obi-Wan when I got around to opening it a couple of days ago. I don't think I've ever seen as good of a likeness of Alec Guiness. I just wish I could display it! As it is I have to wait another year until I get moved and am able to get my collecting room up and fully displayed.

I got mine as well- the only problem is that the plastic sheath for the wire stand cracked the first time I put the stand in. I also can't decide whether to display him with the full saber or the belted one (I have this issue with most of the Jedi)

I too this figure off the shelf today to get a better look at it and the lightsaber broke. I sent a message to Sideshow to see if I could get a replacement (I'm not holding out a lot of hope on this one), but I'm not sure crazy glue will work.
Anyone know of a better adhesive I could use?
