Title: #56 Mustafar Sentry
Post by: Jeff on August 9, 2005, 10:50 PM
Wow!

I picked up this guy tonight and I really, really love him!

He's chocked full of articulation, he has a great base, and I love his weapon.  The only thing that would make him better would be if Hasbro would release a "Mustafar Flea" to go with him!

Anyone else feeling some love for this funky alien figure?

Jeff

I probably would if I could ever find him.

I have one on its way in the mail. Can't wait to get him and put on the Mustafar playset. What's the base? A new one, or one we've seen?

I believe it's a new base, but we will see it again with some of the repaint figures in the #57-#68 waves:

Ah, the new fire base. Hot....

I don't know about feeling the love, but I'm feeling the modest appreciation of it. It's nice to have a new alien. The articulation is pretty clever and I like the rusty paint deco on the chest/neck piece.

He's made out of that damn soft plastic, though. Mine likes to sag if not posed just right.

The base is cool. So cool Target is going to charge 12.99 for it along with some pegwarmer repaints later in the year.  :)

So far this is one I have passed on. Just not interested and I cannot feel the love. Maybe I'll change my mind.

He's looked pretty sharp to me too, from pics anyway.  Not one I've seen myself, though we just are starting to get the Zett Jukassa wave in any decent numbers, haha.

Gotta love being all the way out here in EBF.  The east always gets hosed!   >:(

I'm SOOOOOOooo anxious to find the Obi-Wan Pilot, Mustafar Sentry, and AT-RT Driver soon...  Those, the clone variations, and the Anakin Evolutions sets are the last things I"m needing to be caught up right now, and unfortunately MOST of that I want multiples of.   :-\

I haven't seen himyet but I will get at least 3 when I do.  This guy looks awesome and I'll take any aliens over a crappy human sculpt any day.

I'm going to have to take a middle of the road stance. It's a nice sculpt, but the articulation is just okay. For the character, it's well done, but just not all that exciting for me. :-\

I was kind of debating whether or not I really "needed" this figure or not, but it seems like most everyone here speaks pretty highly of it.  Might have to keep it on the "buy list" after all :).

I'm a big fan of the funky SW aliens, and as such, I love this guy.

I love his design, I love his head/neck articulation and mask.  I love the colors, I love the base, I really like him I guess.

It's weird sometimes how certain figures can strike some people as really cool, while others are kinda like "eh, another alien".

Mine doesn't seem to suffer from any "soft plastic issues" so far, so I guess I got a good one.

I saw tons of this guy the other day, but I passed. I was waiting for a JD review, now it looks like I'll have to get some.

I wasn't really expecting much. Basic POTF2 articulation and such. I'm glad its not!

I'm in the "I love aliens" camp, so I really dig this guy.  As much as I like many of the ROTS figures, there were so few "new" charcters for a while, that this guy really floated my boat.

Haven't seen #56 over here in Atlanta.  I talked to a few guys @ the Buckhead Target and they said it might be in stores on Monday.  Tarkin, Ask, and Meena will probably be there also.

Picked up a couple of these tonight - I really like this figure. Nicely detailed, plus it comes with the cool "on fire" Mustafar base - I think this is the only Collection 1 figure to have a base right? I don't consider the 1st R2 and Spinning Yoda figures to have bases, they have stands that support the action features of the figure.

Wow, that didn't even occur to me about the base. I guess that would make it the first C1 figure to have one. I hope that continues.

I really miss the days of Saga with specific bases and interlocking parts, like the Hoth Luke and Wampa bases.

Speaking of interlocking bases, some of these ROTS bases seem to interlock but in a non-sense fashion.  The royal guard bases can be connected to form like a square "bigger" base.  And the AT-TE gunner bases and be connected to make a really long line.  I don't see the point but the fit together quite well.

Maybe this is the "hint" of things to come.

Ok, found him on the pegs yesterday and after looking at him, I bought him. He rocks! Glad to have gotten him.

Gatillo, I sure do wish they'd make more interlocking bases that made more sense.  Ones that could make the floor to a certain room or something... they are so close to really having something cool, but just can't seem to nail it like they could.
