the Celtics are playing great,   I hope this is their year, I'd really like to see Garnett get a ring.

i kinda hope not.  i hate it when a team buys a ring instead of developing a team.  i also hate it when players jump ship instead of trying to make your team better.

somehow i managed to get a snow day out of north texas winter storm 2008.  we actually got like 7 inches up here in denton.  its the most snow i can remember ever seeing here.  it feels silly taking the day off now that its like 50, but at 5:30 this morning i was pretty glad the boss called to cancel.

also, as panicked and "stupid" as people get about the snow here, i saw no less than 20 cars in the ditch yesterday.  i would say that is plenty of reason for people to get freaked out about a few inches of snow.

i haven't heard many suns as champs predictions this year.  actually the big 3 SA, Dallas and Phoenix don't even seem to be the favorites.   you would have to be stupid to ignore them, but i guess its just more exciting to talk about LA and NO.

What in the hell is wrong with teams?

Jason Kidd and Malik Allen from New Jersey to Dallas in return for Devin Harris, Jerry Stackhouse, DeSagana Diop, Devean George and Maurice Ager

Don't forget the draft picks to NJ.

What did you find unbelievable about the deal?

this deal would really have to throw the mavs into a spiral for the draft picks to matter.  other than a little blind luck, the 29th pick in the draft usually doesn't pan out.

i think both players were to the point of laying out on their teams.  shaq and marion were having career lows.   i don't know if it will push phoenix into being realistic contenders, but i don't think they are really worse for the deal, and miami definitely got better.

shaq might not seem like a good fit, but i guarantee dallas, san antonio and la will be watching with great interest to see how this works out.

Anyone else think Manning DIDN'T deserve the MVP?

Me...

me too... someone from the defense should have gotten it.  the offense sucked for most of the game putting up only 3 points.  if not for brilliant defense,  the pats would have run up the score and eli would have had to force plays and he would have looked like early season eli.

of course brady has at least 2 superbowl mvp's because no one stood out, so why not eli.

i have been wrong several times in my assessment of games this year, but i think in arizona where the weather won't be a factor at all, Brady will get to throw alot more and the pats will look more like they did earlier in the season.    the giants perform best when scores are kept low so Eli isn't having to force anything.  i think the giants would have had a better chance if they were playing in the cold.

what do you guys think of the back pack?  my brother in law carries one pretty much every where.   for me it always gets back to "do i need all this crap".  for me the answer is usually no, but apparently he needs his laptop, some books, ipod, pencils and pens, and sometimes a change of clothes with him at all times.

I think if you're carrying the Cross of Coronado, a golden fertility idol, or nuclear warhead launch codes you get a pass.

i was thinking the same thing.  if your man bag has guns and explosives in it, you are ok.

And then we'll have 95% of the country rooting for the NFC team.

i think you might be underestimating.  its kinda weird that pretty much everyone gives the pats their props, but there aren't alot of bandwagoners around the country.

i think the media would be kinder to the giants if they had beaten the cowboys in any other stat other than final score.  i know that is the only one that matters, but it makes the seem soft and lucky.
