Here's a picture of the newest wave loose.  Target is definitely the best bet so far at least in the Twin Cities.

I found the AT-AT wave also in Minnesota.  They're all nice except for the plastic legs and head on the AT-AT that I opened.

I highly recommend New Force because I've purchased a lot of Star Trek and Simpsons figure cases from him since 2000.  I've never purchased Hasbro products from him but I imagine if there are problems it won't be his fault.

I can't wait to find these.  These are good choices of some of the greatest Star Wars figures of the vintage line.  Greedo was a great choice if they do a good job.  The Biker Scout and Sandperson are going to be the best for army building.

I picked up Leia, Solo and Barada last week.  I passed on Fett, Fortuna and Chewy.  After opening the three I bought I have to say this wave is not my favorite.

I still haven't ordered anything from DTC since the first wave was available at the 2005 Con.  I really like the 3-packs but the new sculpt wave 1 DTC isn't my favorite except for the Crimson Guard head.  I wish I would have bought some of the Night Watch sets back in Decembe when they were around $15.

I'm still undecided about going to New Orleans for the 2006 Convention.

I recently bought the Action Force Command Centre.  Basically a 1983 GI Joe Headquarters repainted green and released in the UK and Europe.

This year I'm going to buy some of the OT  Saga and VOTC if they are new.  I really like the SA Clones so I'll probably buy many of those.  Any OT SW LEGO sets.

Other lines I'll collect this year:

1. Batman LEGO
2. Marvel Legends - no chases
3. Spider-Man, X-Men and FF classics.
4. Nightmare Before Christmas - NECA and Medicom
5. Hasbro DTC 3 3/4" GI Joe if based on ARAH parts.
5.5 New Orleans Con set. Master Collector sets.
6. Some DC Direct.
7. Hasbro DC
8. Transformers - Alternators and a few others

Old stuff:

1. SW Kubrick - I'm a little late getting started but I may backfill these.
2. 1982-1992 GI Joe Cobra army builders

Now I can't wait until the new Batman LEGO sets come out.  I just saw the line showcased in the newest Toyfare magazine.  The Batmobile and the villains look awesome.  I don't like the look of the Batman mask though at least from the picture.

John, if you still want a blue hydrofoil deck kit from the con let me know and I'll bring it to the next meeting.  I bought a few off Mastercollector.com when they offered them and it's yours for $20.00 if you want it.

I really envy those guys that have all those vintage Vipers, CGs, and Snow Serpents.

I can't imagine how much cash they laid out to get them.  :o

All I can say is it takes a lot of cash to rebuild a GI Joe collection.  Then it's impossible to stop army building and expanding the collection beyond what I had as a child.

I really liked my Star Wars toys when I was a kid but in the end the 1982-1986 GI Joe toys I had were my favorites.

I stopped collecting GI Joe toys in 1986 when I was 11 and then sold them all in 1988.  I did get back into toy collecting many different toy lines in late 1992 and that included the last couple of years of ARAH.  In 1997 and 1998 I remember seeing the GI Joe repaints but for some reason I passed completely.

Between 2000 and 2004 I bought the new 2-packs and then GI Joe VS Cobra/Spy Troops/VVV but for some reason I still didn't pursue the old stuff.

My interest in the original 3 3/4" figures and toys was finally rekindled last year when I ran across the TRU Cobra Infantry set and comic 3-packs.  That was the beginning of my recollection of 1982-1986 and everything else I didn't have as a kid.  Then I bought most of the 1987-1991 toys and a few of the 1992-1998 things that I missed.

Earlier this year I took a break from the ARAH line but then I attended the GI Joe Convention in Minneapolis and I caught the army building and collecting bug big time.

Now, I'm in the process of setting up my GI Joe collection and enjoying all these cool toys.

Other Toy Lines / Re: What other 70s & 80s toy lines do you collect?

1. GI Joe
2. Transformers 1984-1987
3. Star Wars
4. MASK

Earlier this year I repurchased all the G1 Transformers from 1984-1986 and a few from 1987.

One of my favorite toys was the MASK Rhino and I got a new one late last year.  That's it so far but I imagine I'll start buying those soon enough.

I collected a lot of vintage Star Wars toys in the early to mid 1990s but now I only buy some stuff occasionally.  I picked up a nice Death Star playset at the GI Joe Convention back in June.

Now, GI Joe is taking up just about all of my collecting time.  Last year, the TRU Cobra Infantry set and the comic 3-packs really got me hooked on the RAH figures once again.  So I repurchased all the 1982-1986 toys I had as a kid and then expanded to everything else including 1987-1998.

It's a lot easier and saves gas to buy them when you see them.  Much easier to buy 10 at once then to buy only 1 or 2 or 3 at each store because you're afraid you might offend someone.

Revenge of the Sith / Re: More Target Exclusives?

I really like this figure and I plan to buy quite a few even at $12.99.  I don't think we'll see this same figure painted like this again so I'm willing to pay more because once these are gone the price will be a lot more than Target's retail price.

Jet Trooper - Pretty cool... but no neck or wrist articulation..

The neck does swivel on the Jet Trooper.  All of mine were stuck and a couple needed a lot of force to free the ball joint.
