With all of this clamoring for the Royal Guards, I have to hope that Hasbro might be looking to carry them forward into the Droid Factory line.  This is a repack I wouldn't mind in the least, and would probably be welcomed by a lot of collectors.  Especially if Wave 17 is only available online.

Well of the Souls / Re: Raiders in IMAX ~ September 7-13

Funny enough, I never saw "Last Crusade" in the theater.  For that, the marathon would be a great option for me to finally see the third chapter on the big screen.  The thing is, when it comes to these marathons I just don't know about sitting in a theater all day long.  Seeing 2 movies in a single day can be a bit exhausting.

However, seeing "Raiders" in IMAX would be very cool!  I'm definitely glad to have some IMAX theaters close by.

Well, I may just be skipping the carded Phase II Commander Wolf, now.  I wish the 'troops had a bigger image of it so that we might be able to discern any differences between this version and the carded release.

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: The Apple iPad Thread

Anyone out there have a favorite HTML editor app for their iPad?  Or a favorite FTP App?

Anyone tried FTP on the Go Pro or FTP Client Pro?

Anyone tried Textastic Code Editor?

Looks like someone's planning on bringing their iPad to C6 for coverage!

I wish I could help you out on those points, Jeff, but I haven't had to use any of those applications since I quit reporting for JTA.  But having an iPad 2 now, I can see how it's probably a far easier platform to haul around a con for reporting purposes.  Especially if your iPad is 4G capable, and you have the wireless keypad.

It looks like there are plenty of options in the Apple app store for FTP uploaders and HTML editors.  And the ratings don't vary all that much from one another.  Have you tried searching some App forums?

WOW!  It turns out that the IRON MAN - THE ARMORED AVENGER line is turning up at TJ Maxx stores, too!  I found the concept Hammer Drone and the Movie Series electronic War Machine!

It sounds like, with the upcoming Oct 10th date looming, Fox has decided to let Daredevil's rights go back to Marvel.  It sounds like, since her movie was released in 2005, Elektra may still remain with Fox, but everything else is going back to the House of Ideas.

http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/08/14/daredevil-reportedly-returning-to-marvel

Interesting.  According to IMDB, the movie made about $100,000,000 worldwide.  But those gross box office numbers never really reflect the marketing budget of a title.  And the marketing costs can very often be in excess of the production budget of a movie.

I suspect Fox probably thought it was better to just let this one go.  Especially if they didn't have a decent script to put another Daredevil film into production.

Droid Factory 2013 / Re: Droid Factory returns for 2013!

Touching on some of these others....

-Chewbacca - I agree, the VOTC & Early Bird versions knocked it out of the park with Chewie.  If we're going to get scene specific with our favorite Wookiee, there are three jailbird versions left that I can think of:  Death Star prisoner Chewbacca, Cloud City Chewie with manacles & C-3PO, and a Jabba's palace prisoner Chewie.

-Lando - The VOTC figure from TESB was pretty good.  But articulation and sculpting have gotten better since then.  A new sculpt of Cloud City Lando would be cool, especially featuring an Imperial blaster and removable cloak.

-Leia - A new version from ANH does seem in order.  Especially after we saw how good the medical bay Leia was.

-C-3PO - A battle damaged version from Cloud City (with the parts bin & cargo net) would be a great interpretation of goldenrod.

-Hoth Han & Luke - I think Hasbro could do a cool scene specific versions of Han Solo & Luke Skywalker along with Han's tauntaun.  An ultimate brown coat Hoth Han with lightsaber & sensors would be a good start.  Then, kitbash the new Hoth Luke into a Wampa damaged version.  And give us the split belly tauntaun.  It would make for a great exclusive battle pack.

Are they seriously trying to get collectors to buy a pack full of 7 figures they may already have in the name of getting one new figure?

Because Hasbro's never had a precedent to this it is surprising?  Where's the sarcasm smiley?

Silly me.

;D

First I had heard of this, but MarvelousNews has a store finding report of a Target exclusive 8 pack of Avengers figures containing Cap, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Nick Fury, and Loki.  Not sure on price, but that would sure be an easy way to get the whole works (aside from the Chitauri), and make for a nice Christmas present:

That's a BS multipack, and Hasbro knows it. We've yet to see an Avengers Nick Fury make it to retail, but all of these other figures are on the market in varying quantities. Are they seriously trying to get collectors to buy a pack full of 7 figures they may already have in the name of getting one new figure?

Millenium Falcon gunner Luke is definitely one of those marginal choices that Hasbro could take on.  A kitbash version of the "Resurgence" Luke would be good here.

And the same goes for a blast shield helmet training Luke.  That was done in the POTF2 era, but we've come a long way since then.  Again, the "Resurgence" Luke would be a great starting point.  Include the lightsaber, blastsheild helmet and a training remote (on a clear stand) and you've got a decent ANH Luke.

The one Luke that I think is a no-brainer?  A new, SA Dagobah training Luke.  The OTC version with the swappable arms and head was cool....in 2004.  But it was geared towards only 2 poses:  holding Yoda in the backpack or doing the handstand.  A truly SA Dagobah Luke seems like the next logical choice on the Luke front.

Droid Factory 2013 / Re: Droid Factory returns for 2013!

With Droid Factory returning, it seems worthwhile to ponder what versions of the core characters are going to get slotted into this line.  We've already seen some announcements for figures like Luke Skywalker (Yavin ceremony), Darth Vader (Bespin dinner), Arena Padme and AOTC Anakin Skywalker.  But what other versions are we likely to see?

-Obi-Wan Kenobi - You know that there's probably going to be an Obi-Wan slotted into the lineup.  There seem to be so few versions of him that have been made, though.  I'm thinking that since AOTC in 3-D *MIGHT* be coming out, a Kamino rain duel version might be the logical way to go.

-Palpatine / Darth Sidious - There do seem to be a number of possibilities here.  There are as many as 3 looks from ROTS that could be done (Office duel / Order 66 / Declaration of the Empire), as well as a definitive ROTJ Emporer with Throne.

-Yoda - A good TESB Yoda still seems like something we've yet to get.  And a Force Spirit Yoda seems like a strong contender, too.

-Leia - We just got the new Bespin gown Leia.  And we got pretty good versions of Slave Leia and Hoth Leia within the past couple of years.  I'm thinking that with the new Speeder bike coming out, a new Endor Leia with ball jointed hips might be a strong contender to be paired with that at some point.  But there's still Cloud City escape Leia which hasn't been updated in some 10 years.

-Han Solo - Where to go here?  We haven't seen an unadorned ANH Han Solo in circulation for some time now.  But it also seems like the Han Solo that's most in need of an update is a Carbon Freeze Chamber version.

So what other core character versions do you think might need an update?

The Vintage Collection / Re: Defender Wishlists 2012 Discussion
« on: August 12, 2012, 01:37 AM »
That should be Hasbro's "peace out" wave...

• Shmi in a bodybag (SA)
• Padme in floating coffin thing
• Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru extra crispy
• the burning TIE pilot from ESB with lightning effects
• Anakin (Darth Vader) in med capsule
• Cliegg Lars

This would be a great time to offer the funeral pyre Vader set as well.

If you want to get a dead (or soon to be dead) Imperial in that wave, you've gotta go with the Asteroid Victim Star Destroyer Captain!

Scored the K-Mart exclusive AT-ST the other day.  And I managed to get some pre-orders in for a couple of extra Royal Guards and a SW-TOR Republic Trooper.

Sorry to go OT, but how much are Sentinels going for at Marshall's?  I wouldn't mind adding a couple; I don't care if they're silver.

You know, I saw one this morning and I totally forgot to check the price.  But they are turning up!
