Pretty good way to go out, too.  Playing hockey with your son when you're almost 70... a lot better than years in a hospital.

Not such a great memory for the son though.  :(

Bad stuff happening around the holidays is always especially sad I think.

I don't know - his dad got to go out doing something he loved with him.  Bittersweet, to be sure.

She actually has screen credits from the fifties and sixties. As she got older, she turned her self into a parody of herself. Looking at those movies from the fifties, she was a pretty good looking lady. She was kind of Marilyn Monroe type. Her sister Eva was the better actress.

Carrie Fisher in Critical Condition

She survived a dysfunctional childhood, drug abuse, alcoholism, severe depression, bi-polar disorder and weight struggles - surely she can survive 2016. While Leia has always been on of my favorite characters -I have always enjoyed Carrie Fisher's novels and wicked sense of humor. Sending prayers her way. May the Force be with you Carrie!

Can someone fix the link for me?  It's been a while.....

2016 can **** off.  Too many people I'd admired are gone, and most of them unexpectedly - Bowie, Prince, Rickman and now Carrie.  And while I'm not a huge fan of George Michael, I can admit he had some catchy tunes that I'd listen to once in awhile.

RIP Princess...

Carrie Fisher has always been one of my favs - loved her books and her interviews. Princess Leia will also be an iconic role model for me. As a 12 year old girl sitting in a theater in 1977 it was mind-blowing to see such a strong, sassy yet feminine and vulnerable woman. When I saw her I knew I could be just like her - which is just like me. RIP

Jesus, the last two months have just been one soul-shattering gut punch after another. This year sucked.  :(

She was the goods. Super sad she is gone. Hope they can find a way to navigate her loss gracefully in the new movies.

Anyone who knows me knows I’m a huge Star Wars fan. They probably know how much I admire Carrie Fisher, who was my first hero in so many ways. She was never just an action figure to me. More than anything else, Carrie Fisher was a writer. She was a novelist, screenwriter and essayist who was fearless in her depiction of her personal struggles. When you’re 16 and everyday is a battle, reading something like Postcards From The Edge from Princess Leia of all people helped you realize life was crazy and messed up and in the end, just life. She fought a lot of battles and like a lot of strong women I have had to privilege to know and work for in my life, she remained undefeated. Carrie Fisher was the girl, the hero, the writer of my dreams. RIP.
