Well Chris has to know we'd get somewhere, he was online earlier.  I just hope he hasn't gone to bed.

Unfortunately I did go to bed.  My allergies are kicking my ass right now, and I couldn't stay up any longer.  So, sorry I wasn't around to submit my next pick.

Sadly I'm in a desperate need for a WR since I don't have one, and since there aren't many studs left to pick from I will choose David Terrell

This is my first time playing FF so I'm a little in the dark when it comes to the strategy of this...  We need WR, QB, RB and the like yes?  The idea is to have multiples so you can choose who to start right?  Does wanting multiples apply to defenses as well?

Zod, there are a total of 20 rounds, and you can view the picks for each round here.  Also, you can view more details about the settings of this league by clicking here.

We're doing it this way, if you can't be available you can PM someone a list of rankings and we'll make the picks for you :)

Isn't that what pre-ranking your draft choices is all about?  I've never heard of it ever being done this way, by PM'ng or emailing your list to someone.  You pre-rank your players using Yahoo, and if you can't be there it will pick the next player on your list... regardless if you're present or not.  I wasn't even aware we were doing this now.

I can pick the first one, but I can't promise I'll be ready for the next ones.  But, give me Donovan McNabb.

Are we not doing the draft using Yahoo's drafting setup, or are we just doing it this way?  I'm a little confused here.   ???

I will definitely be there Friday and Saturday, and I'm thinking about not going on Sunday.  I still can't believe Hasbro won't be there.  What a joke!  It should still be a lot of fun though, even if they're not going to be there.  Hopefully I'll be able to land some deals with the dealers there like I did last year... I was able to pick up about 10 POTJ Imperial Commanders for $1 each.   :o

Only one more day to go and Wizard World will be upon us.  See you there!   ;D

Watto's Junk Yard / Re: Selling Collections
« on: August 6, 2004, 09:15 AM »
This is definitely a great topic indeed.

About four years ago or so I had sold all of my childhood toys except my Star Wars and LEGO.  On eBay I had sold my entire Gobot, Transformer and GI Joe collections... thinking it would bring in some extra money so that I could go full steam with my Star Wars collecting habit.  To the day, I totally regret selling that stuff.

Now that I have a big house with a huge basement displaying my Star Wars collection, I sit back and sometimes think to myself, "Damn Rhoads, you sure went a little overboard, didn't you?"  When my best friend, who also collects Star Wars and has always been impressed with my collection, said one day to me, "Dude, you seriously need some help because you have WAY too much stuff!"  I was shocked when he said that to me, but he (and myself) have never seen my ENTIRE collection displayed before.  It really is sick.  Everyeone that has seen my basement has said there's something wrong with me, that I have a collecting disease.

That made me think that perhaps I should sell off some of my Star Wars collection, at least the stuff that doesn't really interested me anymore.  I look at the OTC packaging (which is the shizzle), then I look at the Saga blue carded packaging, and I think of how nuts I was to buy some of those figures (Lott Dodd, every single Yoda, Anakin & Jango Fett that was made).  I also think of how crappy those Saga cards look compared to the OTC line, like Hasbro didn't think out that Saga card design all that much.  Luckily they spent a lot of time thinking about the OTC packaging.

So, I'm not sure what I intend on doing, but if I ever decide to dump some of this stuff you'll see it in the Classifieds here.

Holy hell Dale!  As sick as it may sound, I would have loved to have been there to witness a storm like that.  Glad to hear you survived the Canadian hurricane!

Take a look at some pictures of my collection.  It's not displayed in a finished basement like I would have wanted, but it's looking pretty good nonetheless.  I still have a bit more work to do until I'm fully satisfied with it, but overall it's setup pretty nicely.
