We've already had our high today, it should be below 0 oF for the next 3 days, warming up to 5 oF on Monday :o

Unless, of course, they are wrong about THAT, too...  ::)

Stupid weather people...  >:(

They said today we're in for the longest cold snap in 10 years here.  I remember the last one.  I was still at the U of Minn and had to walk about a mile to campus every day.

That wasn't 1996 by any chance, was it?  We had a brutal January/February then.  I don't think we quite set a record, but we were close to the longest ever stretch (locally) without temperatures rising above -30 C.  We went about 32 days and the record was 34 or something like that.  That's the high temperature too!

It was actually kind of surreal.  The air was super still the whole time, basically nothing moved.  All frozen solid, I guess.  Kind of wild when the snow squeaks beneath your feet for months on end.  Hockey rinks stay nice though.

So warm today I rode to school with my windows down and back.

Supposedly getting frigid cold, finally, in the next couple days...  Pittsburgh in January should not have a high well into the 60's though.  That's just not natural at all.

I think the end is upon us.

Thank god, the Mesocyclone it's self headed less than a mile east of here. Still, watch till midnight, so who knows.

As for the cold, I am soooooooooo wanting to get teens here soon. I miss winter.

EDIT: No freaking way...Supercell #2 came with the squall line. This ranks right up there with June for the most Tornados in a month.

I'd just like to casually point out that that is far from the only reason westerners hate toronto, :P but yeah, case in point.  It snows, you call in the military.  Correction, your nutbar mayor did.

And I ain't bitching, I am bragging. :-*

 ;D

In poor Mayor Mel's defense, there was a LOT of snow that time.  I know he's taken a lot of derision for that, but the mountains of snow clogging the streets were unreal.  The army was actually doing useful things, like bringing people to the hospital when the ambulance couldn't get through.
And our little dose of unreality is ending, even as I speak rain is turning to snow >:(

It's -13 F here, wind chill -26 F. Wind gusts of 50 mph.

Making my furnace work overtime. I should probably talk to the landlord about getting some windows here that don't let so much heat out.
