Rumors flying all over the place that another exclusive droid on the way for next Wednesday. That mystery yellow and black r5 unit that appeared a few weeks ago now being rumored to be a May 4th exclusive. Has anyone else heard anything more solid than a rumor?

Yak says this is the exclusive and Jayson's pretty on target with Disney reveals. I'd take that as more than a rumor. ;)

Slim to none? All their Astromechs have been park exclusives thus far. There are a few guys on here that regularly help people out with the exclusives though if you're concerned about getting one.

I've been lucky enough to have Paul help me out a few times now. But I do remember both the holo r2 and Christmas droid on Shop Disney Parks App, however much later than the intial release.

So far the only thing they've announced is the Rogue One tshirts that benefit Force for Change.... I agree, hopefully some time tomorrow, we'll have a better idea what's in store.

Hollywood Studios closed early tonight (8:30pm) so I didn't find out these had leaked until after that.
I am on my way over to OUAT now to see what I can find (if anything).

Much success, I should have an idea how many extras I have shortly...
They were limiting how many you could buy (apparently store policy is to limit you to a quantity of 10 for any one SKU)

Ok, so Jeff, Jayson, Jesse, Jman, Mikey D and Piet are covered. I also picked up some for Darth Chuck who helps me with the regular BADs and a BAD collector in the UK. So those plus the ones for me leaves me with two "extras".

A huge shout out to Pete for helping out with these. Our annual passes expired on Saturday, and my wife and I decided not to renew with all the construction going on at the Parks right now.
I'm glad Pete was able to swoop in and save the day :)

Ok guys - it's our last day and the wife and I hit up Hollywood Studios to get a few more rides/attractions in. On my way out of Star Tours I purchased 6 more R5-M4 droids and paid the additional fee to have them shipped home. With that shipping charge but with my annual pass holder discount they come to $13.85 each (plus shipping to you). So PM me if you want one and please indicate whether you want it MOC or opened and how they are packed and what condition they arrive in, I'll let everyone know how many of each type those 6 break down to... (Apologies if I'm making this over complicated)
Let me know if you have any questions. I don't have an ETA when my purchase will reach my house, probably not until some time next week.

Our buddy Tunghori over at eBay has these R5-M4 loose for $12.99 plus $5 shipping. Every additional figure is shipped for a dollar more.

Yeah that's not a bad dealio for this loose.
Here's something that shocked me... It's SILVER, not white, trim on it. Every pic I've seen I really thought it looked white, but it's silver, so that's more in line with the current BAD black droid parts out there. The orange is WAY more toned down than the orange on the BAD's though, so that's not jiving much there. Still, a plain black dome on it would look cool, or the silver R3 dome. It's a pretty colorful/mixed looking droid so it's better that way than the current black/orange torso, or the old black/silver one. It'll stand out from the BAD crowd.

I received the six R5s I shipped home from the park today. They all arrived in good shape so I am now in the process of trying to find a reasonably sized box so I can ship the figure MOC. Unfortunately the small flat rate priority mail box does not fit the cardback and the next size up is a flat rate of $13.45, so I have to find something smaller that will work.
Here is the list of folks who reached out asking for one:

Yes, sorry - didn't mean to leave you off the list - I had picked up yours separate and since you indicated it could be loose, I detached it from the cardback and stuffed the two separate pieces (cardback and droid in bubble) in my luggage.
Sorry for the confusion...

I saw Adam Pawlus called the R5-M4 droid "just different enough to make you mad", but I gotta say that's way off the mark... This droid is pretty significantly different. The orange isn't even the same shade/tone as the orange on any of the BAD parts. It's got all the very noticeable silver highlights (which I mistook for white in the pics before I owned it), and almost every panel/detail is painted differently in one way or another.
Gotta say this doesn't fit the bill on that one for me. You can't build this droid at the park, at all, or come even close to it really. :-X

Agreed - unless he's referring to the fact that you can (or could) have built an all-black R5 droid at Disney in the past, then, yeah sure, it's "different" - but to me, the second the color changes on a part that makes it different enough to make me want to add it to my collection.
There is only ONE droid combo where he "just different enough to make you mad" might apply and that is the white w/yellow R6. In wave 1 (2012) it was a orange-yellow color and then when wave 2.5 came out with TFA droids, it was more of a lemon-yellow to go with the white w/lemon-yellow parts from wave 2 (2015) - sure some of the panels were painted differently and there was more silver in the wave 2 trunk, but yeah - those are two fairly "close" droids, but if you're going for all of the versions of the parts, you HAVE to include them.
At the end of the day, the Build-a-Droids at Disney are so varied, it really does come down to collect what you want - if you want all of the parts go for it, if you want 2x of each dome on two different body designs, go for it, if you want just a handful of droids made up from your favorite colors, go for it and if you want none of them at all, that's an option too, they aren't technically "Hasbro" so you can play the "Hasbro purist" card and skip them altogether.

This doesn't surprise me at all. I sent back home a total of 10 droids broken into two shipments - one of four and one of six - all Disney did when shipping them home was to take the bag they were in and put them into a box with a modest amount of packaging. I feel like I got lucky that those 10 arrived in as good condition as they did.

I've seen reports that these are being clearanced out at Disney Store Outlets, but not all Disney Store locations.
