I called it on Tony.   ;D

I doubt I'll watch next year.  Not really interested in an all-new cast...

If you're interested in a backward-compatible PlayStation 3, the Metal Gear Solid version is available on Amazon:

If you're interested I'd bite immediately.  It probably won't be there long.

They could always have just canceled the show.   ;)

They can't justify putting an under-performing show on a prime night.  Bones and Fringe both have solid ratings.  They've earned their slots.  They're actually putting both at risk by dropping them on the ultra-competitive Thursday night.  What happens with Dollhouse if they put it on Thursday and it not only loses to ABC/NBC/CBS but it can't edge out Smallville?  It's gone.  On Fridays if it can keep an audience (something it's hasn't done all that well this year) it can continue to exist, at least.  I know Whedon already said he'd work with a lower budget (apparently he shot an episode on half his normal budget and was happy with the results).  They're doing just about everything they can to give this show a chance to stick.

You're pretty much correct.  They'll repair it for $150 if it's out of warranty.  And you'll just need a controller and a/v cable.  I wouldn't worry about it being stolen... the worst they can do it take possession.

I don't see how He-Man could be adapted into a good movie.  It's just such a silly franchise.  How do you put that on the screen for today's audience?

Doesn't Marvel have a character that eats entire planets?  Which "Grounded" super hero does he fight?

The Fantastic Four.   ;)

I fully expected Fringe to get cancelled just because of the type of show that it is.  If you look at the Fox cancelled list, a lot of the shows are sci-fi/fantasy type shows.  I'm surprised the Lone Gunmen wasn't on the list...I thought it would have ended up on Fridays at some point.

One thing you need to give Fox credit for is that at least they give sci-fi/fantasy a shot.  They're always trying to find the next cult hit.  That's led to some very good series, but also many, many misses.

Other networks rarely even try sci-fi.

I held off watching Dollhouse and Fringe because I didn't want to get sucked into something that gets dropped after one season.  Don't know that they've decided on Dollhouse yet, but I'll definitely be renting the Fringe series one Blu-ray as soon as it becomes available.  I'm hoping they give Dollhouse another year... I'd heard it picked up in the second half of the season, and attracted more viewers.

So the theory is that T1 depicts Reese's SECOND trip back through time, the first of the infinite loop generated by his first trip...

Interesting...

I'll have to ponder that a bit and see if I can poke any holes in it.

I may have one... the first time through Reese wouldn't have been in love with Sarah Connor already from all those years of looking at her photo... so how does he end up knocking her up?  I guess you could argue she was just that bangable...  But if he didn't need a photo the first time through, why would John Connor risk altering history by making him an obsessed stalker the second time through?

Hell, how does he recognize her at all without the photo?  I forget if that was a plot point... him knowing what she looked like.  The Terminators sure didn't.

I think if you look at a list of cancelled shows on Fox, you will see that they either started or were shifted to Fridays.  Without American Idol, Fox probably wouldn't crack the top 10.  Fox has very little patience with any show that isn't a blockbuster for them.

That's not always true.  King of the Hill was never a big hit, and they kept it around forever.  They've given a long run to American Dad despite ratings well below Family Guy.  This year Fringe took quite a while to get established, but they stuck with it.  Now it's the top new series of the year.

Of course I'll always be pissed at them for canceling John Doe...

All those shows had below expected ratings in their more favorable time slots.  I remember that Terminator started strong, but lost audience very quickly.  Prison Break this season cratered (which was just God awful from day one this season... horrible writing after very solid previous seasons... extremely disappointing).  If they can't hold an audience on Monday before 24, there's no reason for Fox to keep them there.  So they're moved to a night where they'll do less damage in ad revenue.  They're not put there to die.  They're put there because they've underperformed.

There have been shows that launched on Friday... Dollhouse & Firefly, for example.  Those could have done well, but they were mishandled.  I haven't heard whether Dollhouse was picked up for next season or not.  I'm hoping they give it a shot.

BTW, there's a huge difference between House and those other shows.  House is flat-out brilliant.   ;)

You missed a dozen posts ago where we demonstrated that the only way Reese gets the photo Sarah has taken at the end of T1 is if she's impregnated by Reese first.  The photo proves Reese was always John Connor's father.

Ah... I was confused... I thought you'd been arguing against Reese always being John Connor's father.
