I'd say this is one of the better paintjobs of all the Grievous figures, with Deluxe Grievous a close 2nd.  The blast-apart Grievous figure is chalk white though, totally off the mark, as it the lower numbered one I believe (don't own it yet...  if there is a lower numbered one, which I thought there was).

Hasbro is all over on the paint aps.

To me, the reason for the 4-arm/saber feature on the preview figure is again tied to hype (but also tied to making a better figure).  When I look at the figure as a hype tool, what better way then to make him as wildly articulated as the Wookiee, but displaying his neat "4-arms" surprise in the film.  It'd give people something to ponder that the cartoons implied a while ago anyway.

It'd be nice to have one with arms that could be "2" or "4" and look normal as both.  The Deluxe doesn't pull that off well really.

That said, my biggest beef is the ankles not being articulated.  It really makes the figure difficult to pose certain ways...  That and a cloth cloak would've been nice.  I can do the cloth cloak myself though, but the ankles kinda let me down.

I have that Grievous in a rockin' saber (2-handed) pose, though he never wielded a saber like this in the film.  I can see him accumulating more sabers like this though.    He looks badass to say the least.

The GIJ APC is really small.  Go with the Rolling Thunder over that, if you go that route.  Rolling Thunder was a HUGE vehicle.  I remember blowing my cousins up with illegal fireworks and gasoline.

No, I'm not making that up either...  It was a real Beavis & Butthead moment, but nobody got hurt thankfully.

I think the Army Builders are ignoring this guy in favor of spending their $$$ on #41 Clones or other figures, but over time I think they will sell.

This seems very true to me as well Jeff.  Even from a personal perspective, I'm usually buying a grunt over a pilot...  I passed a Clone Pilot or two up the other night because I got another blue Guard and a #6 Clone that were hanging at a local Target....

The Pilots, especially since I'm seeing them more now, are a secondary thought.  Kind of like Preview Wookiees and Neimodian Gunners to me too.  I want more, but not at the expense of a Clonetrooper should I see one.  That's where my $ goes instead.

Thanks man...  Appreciate the kind words.  I believe in an honest opinion, no holds barred, and that's what I deliver...  To me, if a figure isn't any good I'm going to let the masses (And Hasbro when they visit the site) know what wasn't liked.  Some would say that's a negative thing, but I've heard to the contrary.

I customize as well, but when doing a review I can't take that into account as much as it maybe is true in my own universe.  With Dannik Jerriko I have to think of the sheer # of people I saw complain about the holes and the fact most of them don't customize...  Same with Feltipern's "skirt" not being pliable enough.  And from my own point of view I don't customize if I don't feel I have to...  Really I have one of everything untouched actually, whether good or not.

It's a balance...  My customizing side wants to take over and say "well you can fill the holes in and paint it" on Dannik, or just slit the skirt piece up the side to make it more pliable on Feltipern, but in reality 90% of the people buying the toys won't do that to it and feel it's a complaint.  I have to agree with them.

And we can just hope Hasbro fixes things int he future.

And I agree on Dannik with the masses, that the probe things were just not necessary.  I'm the last person to gripe about getting MORE with a figure, but those things really butchered an otherwise great sculpt.

I picked a couple up tonight...  They weren't an extra 50% off, but they werne't $14 either, so for half price they were affordable.

Brittle's an understatement, but Palisades did a number on the articulation with these.  Ball/socket joints galore, finely detailed sculpts, great accessories...  They're quality pieces.  Should make good corpses for battlefields.  I still thing AoD is one of the most asinine films I've ever seen though.  I can't think of much about it that I liked when I saw it.

Perhaps Brad's authority (with some humor) was missed.  He's saying NO political debating, and that includes subtle jabs that can instigate more of it.  Keep it on topic.

I'd like to find SA's and TE Gunners even.    I'm seeing Commanders though on every trip, just not every store.

It's amazing though what the movie's release did to the product...  Like during AOTC's premiere the figure totals didn't really dwindle.  I went out tonight for my post-ROTS premiere toy run and both Wal-Mart's I hit were hit HARD and had some empty pegs even...  Target had gotten some figures in because there was remnants new stuff that wasn't around last week prior to the film's release but it looked like a lot had moved.  Toys R Us had even noticeably been depleted of all types of figures, but the vehicle department looked either replenished or the same as last time there.

The army builders available I noticed were the new Wookiee, Neimodian, and Clone Commanders/Pilots.  Those other Clones are high on my list to pick up in multiples, but so far I've only been able to build a nice #6 army...  The TE's and SA's are just non-existant, though their case-mates are definitely there taunting me.
