That's just gorgeous.  The paint apps and sculpting detail on the cannon itself are wonderful.

I think I'm going to place my online order today.  Shipping'll just be a little more than tax probably!
Edit: they add tax too  >:( so it came to about $52.  Oh well, at least I'll have it sooner than later.

The Legacy Collection / Re: Legacy Collection Comic Packs
« on: March 13, 2009, 08:15 PM »
I'm with Rob on this topic, but I think comic packs are ok for what they are.  Like mentioned, I'd rather EU figures occupy that line than the basic figure line.

So far, I've still only seen remnants at 3 different stores, once each.  This wave is taking forever to roll-out, and/or is selling like crazy.  Despite this, I'm only wanting about 3 more Ben Kenobis and I'll consider myself done with the wave.

Just editing with a couple pics from this wave.

My cantina denizen choices are based almost entirely on how prominent they were on screen.  In fact, I greatly prefer the characters that were standing at the bar as opposed to the booths (to fill up my cantina diorama).  Further, I want more humans than aliens, so I'd also vote for Yerka, Dr Evazan, Danz Borin, Garouf, then the Saurins, Ponda, and Mosep.

I still really enjoy this show, but admittedly last week's episode was strange.  How did the guy survive the gunshot wound?  Was the taser attack where he got her?  Maybe the sleep clinic was created from a memory of the institution she was in with Dr Silberman...

I wonder if any site asked about the Hoth trooper's skirt and Hasbro graces us with a pic.

Well, this very site asked it, and we got no answer to the plastic vs soft goods question, nor a pic  >:(.  It's funny the way they promote the small number of omitted skirts as collectors' items too.

I think Ben is my favorite character, hands down.  I like to think he's benevolent, but I just don't know!  The Locke incident throws a new spin on it, but it could still be with him knowing the eventual outcome (John being ok).  Did he decide to do that because he heard Faraday's mom's name?  It seems like that's what prompted him to action.  By the way, the actress who plays Faraday's mom was Mace and Cindel's mom in Ewoks: Caravan of Courage.

Phruby- 1984 is my favorite novel of all time.  I hope you enjoyed it as much as I do!  I just finished Fight Club (found the narrative really choppy, but about as enjoyable as the film).  Perhaps the most shocking thing was written in the afterword: the author was approached by a banquet waiter who claimed to have dropped his semen into Margaret Thatcher's food on at least five separate occasions.  Makes you careful how often you eat out!  I'm still slowly reading Return of the King, and quickly reading a Last of the Jedi young reader novel #7.

I found one of each (except Luke Stormtrooper) at one WM about a week ago.  However, no other store, including various Targets I've checked almost daily, have gotten this wave at all.  No remnants or anything!  This one is really slow to roll out, and I have a feeling there won't be many pegwarmers.

I wonder if any site asked about the Hoth trooper's skirt and Hasbro graces us with a pic.  Also, some hints about which cantina aliens are coming in the next ANH wave would be cool too!

On vacation in Destin, FL yesterday I happened into a WM and found a TON of the new comic packs.  I don't buy the EU stuff (though the Amanin pack looked fantastic), but I was ready to plunk down some coin for the ewoks!  I think they're great, and I knew I'd repaint the headdresses right away.  I did so today, because they were so close to film-accurate otherwise!  Here's a couple pics:

The rest of you need Pearle Vision Center.

Believe me, you can be convinced she turns in only one direction, but try to shift it and eventually you'll see!

Last night I attended a lecture from Fred Haise, the Apollo 13 astronaut!  He showed actual footage from the mission as well as his aircraft crash and the early space shuttle test flights.  The talk was at the University of Southern Mississippi where I teach part time.

Hmmm, it's still there for me, iFett.  As for getting her to switch, try watching the swinging leg as it's "supposed" to go behind the supporting leg, and visualize it going in front of it instead, and it switches!
