Watto's Junk Yard / Re: What stresses you out?
« on: November 24, 2004, 03:15 AM »
Health.  It's like fighting a war with an enemy you can't see or defeat.   The toll it takes on you and your family.

And trying to get a book published.  It's kind of like walking up to people and having them run away from you.

I don't have anything on your list, unfortunately.  Oh, well.  The Green Dragon has carded pics of TTT and ROTK 4 up.  Hama!  Just more figs I'll never see around here.

I'd give 'em a shout, Ben.  I found the Generals wave at WM today.  Lots of 'em.  Now, I just need me some Jawas.

Me, too.  I won't go all out with these as I have in the past, but they are very exciting and I can't wait to see a Padme figure.

Found these today, too at WM, well Padme anyway.  She's one of my favorite pieces in all the years I've been collecting.  Except she can't stand up.  At all.  Sigh.

I'm fairly happy.  The cards grow on me, and the articulation seems to stick around even with the action features, so these are miles ahead of AOTC as others have said.

Collection 1 Wave 1 seems pretty straight forward.  I wonder if Chewie will be new or simply a repack of the VOTC fig.  Another flying R2?  Ok.  Can't wait to see more.

Cookie cutter?   :o  We'll just have to agree to disagree.

Oh, and U2 isn't from Great Britain.  They're from Ireland.

I'll repsectfully disagree with you on U2.  They inspired a whole generation of bands: The Sundays, Radiohead, James, Travis, Coldplay, I could go on.   Vertial Horizon?!   :)

In terms of sheer influence, longevity, popularity, all of it, there's only a few that really can be considered great.

The Beatles, the Stones, Led Zep, the Ramones, U2.

I'd throw in Queen, the Grateful Dead, and the Beach Boys (Pet Sounds automatic honorable mention), but after that it gets hairy.  I love everyone's lists.

Finally found ROTJ VOTC today at Sam Goody.  I bought the only Stormtrooper.  I also saw the Sandcrawler at my local comic shop for $60.  I took one look at it and went "Nah."
