30th Anniversary Collection / Re: 2007 Coin Pack-Ins
« on: June 26, 2006, 12:13 PM »
If a pack in is going to be part of the deal, I like the coin idea. I liked the Freeze Frames as well, and actually pull them out and view them sometimes (we have an old slide viewer). Coins are much preferable to holos, but I would ultimately rather get more accessories or props with the figure. Background droids, fuel tanks, console parts, just about anything to fill in the scenes.

I'm glad the TIE pilots are 4 per box, but those Luke's are going to be everywhere. Too bad the rebel fleet trooper is a one per box, same for the droids. I'm glad I splurged on a master case this time.

I'm going to have to get a Sacul, eventually.

The best part of the avalance of medicom product news is that it is all good looking. I will pass on a few items (bearbricks, VSD), but the quality is there in everything. Hasbro is too comfortable tossing out 3 or 4 pieces of steaming dewback droppings for every good item. This is why Kubricks and Medicom rock.

Despite my interest in finding out what the series 7 chases are, I hope they keep it under wraps like they used to. I doubt releasing the chase information before hand increases sales, so let it be a surpirse.

That Jabba set would be fantastic. I hope they make it a TRU exclusive and not a festival one. The TRU sets are available in enough quantity to keep the secondary market prices reasonable ($10.00 a brick or so). That Rebo band set me back a ways...

I'm thinking we could see a Ree Yees or Bib chase in that series 7 set, possibly an endor trooper. I hope they save the snowtrooper and endor trooper for a regular release, otherwise getting 1/2 a dozen will be out of the question.

I can skip the bearbricks, and Jorg too.

I definately lean toward the OT with the collection, particularly army builders and scene-building. My PT stuff is 90% open but in storage bins. My OT stuff gets the display shelves. I am considering a pretty big Clone Wars scene now that the animated gunship is here.

I wish Hasbro would get off their "realistic only" path for the Clone Wars, and give us Bariss Ofee, Luminara Undali, and a yoda like the big statue, plus a few more clones, with something resembling articulation and all in cartoony goodness. The party line of "no fan interest in playsets and animated figures" is bunk. Give us some trees with a dark side cave to go with that X-wing, and then you would CREATE the interest. How about influencing the buying habits by producing a great line, rather than whining that we won't buy any piece of crap you make?

Whoa, I don't know where the rant came from. X wing looks good. Carry on.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: TRU Exclusive Dagobah X-Wing

The mucky dagobah R2 from OTC will work fine for my shelves.  I think this may be the definitive X wing, although I wish it sported some electronics.

Time to consider a really wicked Dagobah diorama project....

I have just 1 loose one so far.

Including the Saga Sandtrooper, I have almost a dozen different Sandtroopers now, so I think I can stop with just one of this kind.

Sure you can...  :)

Remember, this is the best sandtrooper. Super articulated stormtrooper goodness. Throw the others away, and get more of these!   ;)

Finally finished my silver holo set, thanks to a cheap ebay obi-wan. I sure hope they don't do something like this next year for the anniversary...

Saga Collection '06 / Re: Battle of Naboo Wave

I think I am still suffering from the Phantom Avalanche. Almost anything from that movie reminds me of the HUGE glut of products, and just seems less desirable. I think I am passing on this wave entirely, but I've been wrong before.

Saga Collection '06 / Re: TRU Exclusive Endor AT-AT
« on: June 15, 2006, 10:08 PM »
I love AT-ATs, but at 90.00, I would have to pass. 11 years of collecting doesn't leave a lot of room or $ for something I have with green smears on it, no matter how much I liked the metal dinosaurs. Maybe if I can score it for $65.00 or less somehow with coupons or something...

11 years of collecting and you can find somewhere to fit another AT-AT? :o

Where do you live?

Not much room, but like I told Jedimoses, the suspended ceiling in the basement provides just a little extra space....

They really do add a lot to a loose collection. I'm not sure I would get them if I wasn't an opener-

I have two thanks to a local Tatooine King- Jedimoses is the man for finding the sandy figures in Minnesota  ;)

I just checked the Entertainment Earth site to see if this wave has arrived yet (I ordered a case as soon as they went on the site). It now shows a ship date of July...
I hope they didn't underestimate the demand on these figures as badly as they did the UGH-   ::)

Saga Collection '06 / Re: 80 figures for 2006?
« on: June 12, 2006, 10:48 PM »
Wayyyyyy too much. Wayyyyy too many re-releases that were available wayyyyy too recently. A few here and there for the cool cardbacks, and that's it for carded this year.  Tataooine and Hoth will get packed away with the UGH and a few troopers, that should do it for my 2006 carded collection.
