Hey Hasbro! / Re: PLEASE DON'T REPACK: Worst Ideas For Repacks

Yeah, Evazan is definitely a re-do. Whoever sculpted that PoS should be banished to the lands of the Knights who say "Ni"  where they demand a sacrifice.

LOL

Yeah, it is truly a work of Shart - Sh.t Art (Not to be confused with Shart - Sh.t and Fart) heh heh.

Awesome job again Fritz. You're one of the best customizers out there, IMHO.

Thanks greatly for the how-to guide.

Now to looking for the parts!!

Hey Hasbro! / Re: Canceled figures that need to be released!

holographic nemoidians would be very cool, theyre very overdue.

I'd agree with you, but Neimodians just don't do very well at retail. I think Hasbro knows this. Maybe a battle pack.

Something like Holo Nute and Holo Rune with Battle droid commander and two regular "clean" battle droids.

This would give people who want the holo figs something to look forward to and amry builders something they might want to get. If this was made, I'd get a few sets and split the packs with people who would want just the holo figs. (At cost of course) This way we'd all be happy, sort of...We collectors are never truly happy, heh heh.

Hey Hasbro! / Re: Need more clones (not kidding)
« on: May 17, 2007, 04:05 PM »
I'm about clones out myself and I'm a HUGE army builder. Really after this years offerings (501st, Coruscant (grey), AOTC clones and officers), I won't really have the need, want or desire to build up any more armies.

Now I would like some more Stormies and I do plan on building up the Snowtrooper a little. But I REALLY dislike the specific soft goods skirt the Snowtrooper has.

This is definitely my last big year for army building. I promised myself and my fianceé that. Then it's less than two years from then and I'll stop collecting for the most part, with that scant new fig here or there. Heck I'll be 40 by then (2009), so I think it's time to stop collecting.

Not that I'll be done with SW. Heck no. I've got plans drawn up for several large scale dioramas. The plans are drawn, materials lists made, etc. Now it's just having the space and time to devote to building them.

An example of one of the dioramas planned is the Battle of Geonosis which will be encased in plexiglass and measure 8ft wide by 5ft tall and 4ft deep. This will "sit" on a rolling cabinet that will be 2 1/2 feet high and there will be a cap on the top for the lights which will be another 1-1 1/2 feet tall. Yes, it's going to be 8-9 ft tall when done. When completed it will house no less than 700 figures and about a dozen ships. I did said big.

I'm an Industrial and Graphic Designer by trade, so it's going to be top notch. I just am waiting until I'm done collecting to really devote that time to it. Besides at the moment I only have a two bedroom apartment and I'll be getting a house soon. So I can't really build this type of thing until then. It sucks too because I've had such an itch to make these for so long. I've talked about them on other message boards for a few years now. To be honest I think those folks are getting impatient as well, heh.

When finished they really will be something to see. I'm not talking simple dioramas either. No stickers. Everything will be hand/machine made, airbrushed, etc. Not that there is anything wrong with dioramas with stickers. Heck those are great and I applaud those who have even done those type of dioramas. Niubniub is a friend of mine and I hope that when I get started I can link his site to mine. I think both will be excellent companion sites to each other. I got the approval from LFL a few weeks ago to go ahead with my website and use of SW graphics. So once I can get on that, you folks will see those big dioramas being made as I go and then the final designs. The website itself though won't be up until later this year, when my work's busy season dies down. I'm hoping October.

Whew, sorry went off in a different direction there for a minute. I can be chatty at times.

Anyway, I guess one way to look at this is the more clones Hasbro makes depending on how you collect it either means more figs to get or more money saved. I think I'm finally in the latter category.

Hey Hasbro! / Re: Lars Family Battle Pack
« on: May 17, 2007, 03:32 PM »
Maybe not a Battle Pack, but it would make a nice 7-Pack like the exclusive Bounty Hunters, Commandos, or DS Officer sets we've seen...

Lars Family Moisture Farm:
 - Cliegg Lars (AotC)
 - Owen Lars (AotC)
 - Beru Whitesun (AotC)
 - Anakin Skywalker (Evolutions Ep2)
 - Padme (Lars' Homestead version)
 - C-3PO (AotC repaint)
 - R2-D2 (RotS preview droid repaint)

3 new figures (Owen, Beru, Cliegg), 2 repacks (Anakin, Padme), and 2 repaints (3PO, R2).  A nice blend of brand new, kind of new, and old figures.

This is an excellent suggestion for a Pack. Not a battle pack, but a great gift set. Like you said it's a good mix of new, repacks and repaints. That's just the kind of combination that Hasbro looks for.

Has this very question with this specific suggestion ever been asked in teh Hasbro Q&A?

Dr. Evazan-what a load of crap this figure is. He's in desperate need of a new sculpt.

Hey Hasbro! / Re: Kotor Figures
« on: May 17, 2007, 03:17 PM »
I would have loved to get these figures (Two years ago).

I'd still get them now, but since I'm an army builder and I'm winding down on that now, I'm just not as excited about KOTOR figs as I once was. Hasbro REALLY dropped the ball on this one. They saw the popularity of it and should have started R&D once the game became popular. The figs would have still been a year late, but that measn we would have had them a year ago by now. Same can just about be said with the Battlefront figs.

I'm not totally knocking the idea of KOTOR figs, just the timing.

These would be excellent pack-ins. Only problem is to get them we'd have to buy yet another Obi/Anakin combo of figures. I'm just not feeling that anymore. I'm tired of the repacks for the one or two cool things in a battle pack. Perhaps if the set included two Mustafar miners before they were release single carded, the battle pack would have been a good idea. The droid Ani/Vader is on could definitely be a pack-in, but the platform no way.

30th Anniversary Collection / Re: army building question
« on: May 17, 2007, 03:12 PM »
My armies are unfortunately lopsided towards clones and stormies.

My AOTC clones out number Sep forces 3 to 1.

Rots ratio is even worse, I'd guess it's 5 or 6 to one clones to seps.

OT is about 4 or 5 to one, Imps to Rebels. I'd like to change that, but there really aren't many "armies" of the Rebels that we see. Rebel Fleet troopers, Hoth troopers and Endor troopers. Okay some for the Medal ceremony but that's it. I don't see much of a need for huge armies of either the Fleet trooper or Endor troopers, so that only leaves Hoth. Considering the Hoth troopers have pegwarmed badly in my area in the past (and I'd venture to guess just about everywhere else), it's doubtful Hasbro will get to them anytime soon.

I've got a decent enough force of Seps for the AOTC armies, but I'd like some Homing Spider droids to help bolster the look and feel of that army. Need the Tank Droids for the ROTS Sep armies as well.

I'm disappointed by the Battle droid two-pack decision in the Legends line. I don't want more Commander droids, just grunts. And then there's the Sliced/Blasted running change. I just never got into those battle damaged ones, so I'm going to pass on them too. I was hoping for clean ones only.

1945
Huge pass for me. DOn't need anymore Obis, Vaders, or Yodas. I have enough Utapau troopers. Is the silver Sandtrooper the same as the one that came out a few years ago? If so, that's a pass too. So that just leaves the Kashyyyk trooper. I just need two of those Kashyyyk troopers to complete my goal. However, I'm not buying a set just for the one figure.
