The Prequel Trilogy / Re: Art of Episode III
« on: May 1, 2004, 01:47 AM »
"Mind's Eye for the Jedi"?

Is that like Queer Eye for the Straight Guy?

This ought to be an interesting read...

Outstanding idea.

We love Chris Berry.

The E III clone trooper is going to hatch in half and fire a patriot missile from the depth of it's loins, like R5-D4.

The front page (via GalacticHunter) is reporting that the Swami has now said to look out for the possibility of:

Bib Fortuna
General Veers
Gammorean Guard
Hoth Vader

These all scream re-pack...

I'm starting to think there might not be any more new figures this year - of course, repacks are easy and they could still release new figures on top of this...

If they were new sculpts - I'd be cool with all of these except another vader....

Veers was hideous.  If this one is repacked, rather than giving us a nice imperial uniformed Veers with maybe a removable helmet and torso armor, this will go down as one of Hasbro's worst 5 moves ever.

I mean, that Veers with the AT AT is awful.

On the other hand, the Gamorrean Guard was actually pretty good.  Got one right in front of me now and the sculpt and likeness are pretty good for it's time.

We need a new Bib, but still, reissuing the old one wouldn't be nearly as awful as reissuing that Veers thing.

I couldn't care less about Hoth Vader.  I'll put some snowflakes on one of the 18 Vaders I already have.

Saga '02-'04 / Re: TRU Naboo 4 Pack
« on: April 30, 2004, 09:12 PM »
Yes!!!

This is officially the first 4 pack that I'm going to buy, and I'm going to get a few of them.

Dressel's questions:

Which battledroid?

Which gungan?

Naboo Royal Guard or Naboo Security?

If it's fambaa gungan and naboo royal guard (maybe with a new head?) I'm super stoked.  I'd get 5 sets at least.

None of the previous 4 packs have come even close to peaking interest.  This one sounds great.

EDIT:  It's definitely Naboo Royal Guard.  I wonder if it'll be the goatee head sculpt or a new one.

I hope this thread is locked soon.

The last thing I want to see is a political debate here.

But I know where this is headed, and I suppose that when the bugs are worked out at another site ( ;) ) we can finish the discussion over there.

I'm done here.

Ditto.  Except I won't be finishing the discussion at 'scum.  I'll swing by in November when President Bush is re-elected to collect my props though.

This should not be aired.  It's just more liberal anti-war/anti-Bush messages.  Good job by the exec to keep this from happening.  The liberals are becoming desperate and shameless.

If it were really about the fallen troops in the War on Terror, they would not be airing the "Fallen Troops in Iraq;" rather, they'd be airing all of the fallen troops combined in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The fact that they're leaving our troops who died battling Taliban and Al Qaeda off of this show, is just more proof of what these liberals were REALLY up to.

So I'm glad they got stopped dead in their tracks.  That's the way it ought to be.

I'll be nice.

The Yankees are the Yankees for a reason and I'm smart enough not to count my chickens before they hatch.  And I would give up those 6 wins now for 6 wins in October when it really counts.  And I have no doubt their bats are going to come around (Arod looks to be coming out of his slump), but the Sox are without two of their biggest bats (Nomar and Trot) right now also.  Every game they win now without them is a bonus.  Getting them back is going to help tremendously.  Every win counts, whether by 1 run or 9 runs.

I hear ya, but i'm here in Boston and let me tell you, people were running around in the streets while I was jogging to the gym acting like they were just declared 2004 World Series Champions.

The Yanks will see you in October, worry not.

Red Sox sweep the Yankees in the Bronx.  The home town team delivered a good old fashioned ass kicking on Friday 11 -2, then won yesterday in 12 innings even though they went 0-19 with runners in scoring position.  Then today all they needed was a two run shot by Manny to complete the sweep and raise their record against the Yanks this year to 6-1.  Something's definitely wrong in Gotham and I couldn't be happier.

Nothing's wrong with the Yanks.  At least 3 of those wins were 1 or 2 run games that could have gone either way.  The Yanks defense was real sloppy but that's just a fluke.  It could have very easily been 4-3 Yanks in the season series right now.

What I find more remarkable is that Red Sox fans, who haven't had a World Series win in 85 years, have just said to hell with October and have just made the regular season games against the Yankees their "world series."

I would just like to offer one sound piece of advice:

Never bet against the Yankees.

Their bats are going to come around, and they will probably lead baseball in runs scored per game around 7-7.5, maybe even 8.

It's April baseball people, settle down.
